Mark and his team are absolutely exceptional- and the for us, being first time boat owners, it is so relieving to find such a trustworthy, honest, and reliable group of people who will really take care of you. They give honest feedback, are quick to respond, and will really make you feel like family. All of our future boat business will be going to them- it's hard to find reliable mechanics, and these guys are the best. read more

Long Beach Boatworks - This is our 1985 Blackfin w/ twin Crusader 350's, expertly taken care of by Mark's team. - Boat Repair Near Me - Long Beach, California

Well Mark was a no show. 3 weeks ago early April I contacted Mark , talked to him , explained our situation , he informed me he wouldn't be able to come out until at least April 20th then he would assess the problem. Well April 20th came and went , no Mark. Fortunately Ready Electric came to our rescue. Troubleshooted our problem, gave us options, and set an appointment. Jr showed up early , even wore shoe covers and completed the job in less than a day. I highly recommend Ready Electric over Boatworks. read more

Great boat service; excellent technical competence combined with transparent, honest, and reasonable pricing..

I really appreciated my experience with Mark and Long Beach Boatworks. They professionally serviced my Yamaha outboards and addressed a couple of other important issues that likely would have resulted in issues while on the water. They also have convenient options for haul out which is really helpful when you don't have a trailer. Lastly, they actually cleaned my boat on their own time so it looked better than when I dropped it off. I highly recommend read more

Mark ghosted calling me back regarding engine service (motor running rough). He was supposed to send an invoice estimate to my email, but never did. This company was referred to me by Marina Shipyard. A shout out to the guys at Marina Shipyard. They are very professional, do great work and communicate throughout the entire service process! The receptionist at Long Beach Boatworks, who answered the phone took my information 3 separate times and told me she would make sure Mark called me back. This never happened. Very disappointed as this company has good reviews and I really needed help with getting my engine diagnosed and repaired. read more

Thank you, Mark, Charlie, and the LBB team, for the fast service and timely communication during the 100-hour service on my Yamaha 300. I appreciated that this is a family business. The service was well-done at a competitive rate. Additionally, they efficiently replaced my drained batteries and faulty on-board charger without markup or excessive labor costs. Looking forward to future service. read more

I've been looking for a local quality boat mechanic and found Long Beach BoatWorks. Mark performed some repairs on my powerboat, including full outdrive service and changing a shifting problem. Mark was a good communicator, provided a well written itemized quotation, and got it done for a fair price with a short turnaround time. I'll be back when I need service again. Thank you, Mark! read more

Long Beach Boat Works - you not only do great work, but you stand by your work. After reading reviews about the work you do, I took a leap and hired you to install our trolling motor..... And I am glad I did! The job was done to my expectations: on time, on budget - and on yes, on point! It's not easy finding someone who combines technical know-how with genuine customer service - but Mark and Stephanie, you and the team stepped up in every way. Thank you both for getting us on the water with a trolling motor, that no doubt will get us on the fish! We appreciate you. read more

Me and a buddy contacted Mark to have him asses a boat we were thinking of taking over. Mark was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. More than that, he was honest. He warned us about pending costs the boat needed now and to maintain that we didn't know. Marks insight was invaluable in helping us not take on a moneypit, even at his own cost as he would've likely gotten a lot of the work. Will definitely use him on the next one. read more

This is the third time that I used Long Beach Boat Works to service my boat. Mark is prompt, professional, and his pricing is competitive with other marine service companies. Another advantage in working with Mark is that he works closely with Marina Shipyard so that mechanical and bottom painting can usually be done with just one haul out, which saves us boat owners money. I highly recommend Long Beach Boat Works. read more

Never returned my calls after several trues. I finally found South Shore boat Works. They are great.

I've been a boat owner since 1987 and have experienced many different repairs/servicing over the years. Without question, Mark has earned my highest recommendation. To be brief, Mark, as a recent find, has demonstrated the following qualities as he returned my boat to running great. Mark is: professional, responsive, an excellent communicator, punctual, knowledgeable, detailed, fair, honest, conscientious, and trusted. If you'd like further details or examples, please contact me. read more

I highly recommend Long Beach Boat works for anyone who needs service on their boat. Mark was absolutely fantastic and explained to me step-by-step on what he was going to do. Extremely knowledgeable, punctual, and honest. These guys are Experts!!! read more

Mark is one of those rare birds in his industry. He is honest, fair, kind, communicative and intelligent. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem with our boat within a few days where it took our other mechanic about 7 months. We called mark after being thoroughly frustrated after we had gotten our boat back from our previous mechanic. Our mechanic had our boat for 7 months and still our problem was not fixed. Mark came down to our dock the same day as i called him. He is responsive and respectful of our time and always seems to be able and willing to help, which is not the experience we have had with past mechanics. Reviews are always very personal and can vary with experiences but we couldn't recommend him enough. From the first call to the way he speaks to his clients to the way he treats your boat with respect; he is the real deal. If you are desperate to find someone honest out there to help you with your boat troubles, contact mark. read more

Mark is one of the few boat mechanics I can fully trust to work on my boat & not overcharge me. I've had an issue with my boat over the past year and have been burnt by 2 mechanics before that gave up, took my money and never fixed the boat. Mark almost took this up as a challenge and got it done. What impressed me the most is on the last sea trial to make sure all was good to go, we had an issue and next thing I know, mark strips down to his boxers and dives under the boat while we are out in the middle of the ocean/ ends up being the vents were clogged so he scraped off the growth from them and boat was running fine again. Highly recommended! read more

Mark worked on my boat the following day after my begging call to pass inspection for a permanent slip. His reputation and demand from my neighbors are positively high -- no wonder why he's extremely busy. I'm lucky enough to be accepted. He was done in less than 2 hrs. to fix a difficult and inaccessible starboard shaft 'packing gland' task due to water leak. I highly recommend Mark! Thank you man! I will definitely see you again for more work. :) read more

I would like to take a minute to express my gratitude or the work that Mark has done for me on my boat. Had an amazing experience with Mark and the team! They were so knowledgeable on my inboard Mercruiser engines and diagnosed my engine sensor problem quickly and I was able to have it fixed with $250 in labor and $348 in parts. I had a different mechanic in MDR who couldn't diagnose the problem and charged me almost $5000 over 10 months without fixing my problem!!! Thank you LB Boatworks, you guys are great! read more

Mark at LB Boatworks has been working on our boat for various things on and off for several years. He's so good at what he does. Mark over at Long Beach Boat works was super professional and really helped us out quick to get us back on the water fast especially right before a holiday weekend. He kept us updated the whole way on the status of our boat and was quick to get back to us if we had any questions. Also James the mechanic that was sent out to us was very friendly and professional as well and helped us out a lot. I highly recommend this place they did an excellent job on our ski boat that has over 800 hours on it and it is running better than ever thanks guys! read more

These guys called me first thing after my inquire and were very cool and straight forward about my boat. Thanks again for the info

They missed their first 4 appointments, and they never called. I called them after they finally came by and they promised a quote by the end of the day. I called at 4:30 and got the same promise. No quote. After several days, I called them again and they were very apologetic about not keeping their word and being busy. They promised a quote again, which I again never got. No apologies for not calling or breaking their commitments. They may be good workers; I couldn't tell ya, but they are terrible about keeping their word. I needed mechanics. The good reviews are for annual and cleaning services. read more

Awesome find on yelp. Mark and his team fixed our old neglected 1999 Searay Sundancer 260. Gave us a very fair price. We were thinking it had a lot of issues and may cost a lot. After his inspection, there were some parts that need replacement but ultimately all it needed was good old fashion maintenance. Mark is trust worthy. Took the boat out for sea trial with Mark to make sure it's up and running. We are very happy with the work he and his team has done. read more
