We recently started streaming since Xfinity chose to be ridiculously expensive for all you get so my wife and I head in to the Monroeville PA Best Buy. As we entered the store it was like a ghost town. Usually there is a person at the entrance to show you the location of any particular item you're searching for. No one around, therefore my wife and I started to search for a HDTV 4K antenna so we could get local channels. As we went to the back of the store, we spotted a new television with a new type crystal for maximum color enhancement. I was looking for a salesperson to speak with but again no one areoun. A vendor with AT&T stopped back to see what phone service were with and I told him TMobile. After I told him that he stated he would get an associate to help us. As we waited we started to look for an antenna for local channels however, they had a poor selection to choose from. Standing there for approximately 40 minutes, I started getting upset. I in a louder voice yelled "Hello, anyone here that can help us"? A young guy came over yelling back saying "what are you yelling about". I stated my business and told him the customer service needs help and is very substandard. This professed store manager looked at us and yelled "Get the f**k out of my store"! That really made me mad so after we argued for a few minutes he continually yelled that phrase at us. I let him know they had no selection to choose from anyway and again I was told that same phrase. This managers name is Jacob and evidently has no managerial experience. He may have been 28-30 years old, I'm 70 and had back surgery, and my wife had a heart attack with continued medical problems. Jacob could have diffused the situation by simply saying he was sorry for my frustration and ask how he could help me but chooses just to tell me to "get the f**k out of HIS store". His loss I was about to p,ink down $2800.00 for that new type tv along with $169.00 local tv antenna but I can guarantee, I will never step another foot in a Best But store if corporate offices are unable to hire competent management & helpful employees to do their job. read more

The customer service at this store is absolutely terrible! I came in to purchase a new laptop and the salesperson didn't even acknowledge my presence. I stood in front of the laptop I wanted for approximately 20 minutes while he helped another couple with their purchase. I wasn't upset that he was helping someone else but that he could have at least greeted me and acknowledged that I was waiting patiently. Honestly, I would give zero stars if that were an option. Best Buy, you really need to do better with your hiring practices. No wonder companies like Amazon are taking over and putting you guys out of business. I opened a Best Buy credit card to purchase a computer, which I paid off in full. I kept the account open because I planned to make additional purchases. When I was getting ready to buy something else, I noticed an unexpected $46.00 charge from Geek Squad. I never requested their services, yet the charge was added to my credit card. Frustrated, I closed the account. Because of the unauthorized charge and the late fees that followed, the balance kept increasing. I contacted Geek Squad, and they removed their charges, but the late fees remained. As a result, the account was reported, and my credit score dropped. All I wanted was to do business with reputable companies, and instead I ended up being penalized for a situation caused by their mistake, or their scam. read more

I felt like I stepped into summer of 2020 again. At a time where mask mandates and things are returning to normal, they were stopping people at the door asking what they were there for. Uhhhm, I'm here to shop! This was February 2022 and any other place I stopped was pretty much "normal" for this time. But Best Buy is still behind the times. This location may go the way of Circuit City and HH Gregg. They didn't have what I was looking for (nobody in 3 different states has it), but that's not the reason for 3 stars (which still means Ok). i cracked my phone screen. My protection plan is Best Buy. Their repair coverage is awful compared to Verizon I discovered. Verizon has switched to a $29 screen repair for unlimited occurrences. Not so with Best Buy. Still a very high deductible. Only one store here is authorized to repair Samsung phones (this one in Monroeville) and they have only done one so far and it might take a week. Only slightly cheaper than other stores in the area which send you a replacement phone. Between the two options, it's something between 100 and 200. The phone still works so researched. Turns out Verizon has an awesome deal going on as of this posting in July 11, 2022. I didn't believe it online so did the online chat with a rep. Turns out they have a trade-in program in which I can trade in my cracked screen Samsung s20 for a new s22 basic model worth 799 on my existing line with my existing unlimited plan for free. Didn't have to fix the screen first. Didn't have to be a new customer. Didn't have to add a new line.  Just paid a 35 upgrade charge.  I will pick it up at a store close to me tomorrrow or next day. I changed my protection plan back to verizon, as well. Even if this deal wasnt in olace, had i stayed with Verizon's protection plan it would have only cost me $29 to have the screen repaired. So... Not happy with Geek Squad cell phone protection plan and letting you know. read more

I went into the store to buy a couple of things. I have been in the market for a new 4k projector and new car stereo and was going to purchase today. I went this best buy and got ignored for 20 minutes. I finally got some help. Noone in this store knew anything about projectors. The only advice they offered was to return it if it did not work. Wow is all I said. Next up car stereo. Even more useless help than home video. Had no idea about their product line and refused to help me. If I would have paid my money there to purchase these items I would have purchased installation coverage as well. The bill would of probably been over $4000. When I lived in the area I used to always hit up this location, however when I moved out of the area, I didn't see a need to utilize this location. Recently I had to stop here because the one near me did not have the item in stock. First and foremost the location of this Best Buy is a bit odd. It is by the mall, not in the mall, but by the mall. To access it you have to go to the mall, but not in the mall. It sits on the mall loop, by itself. You can see it from the road, it's right there, but yet so far away. It is so odd. Inside is the new setup in the old setup footprint. I like how they have adapted with the shift in retail shopping. I did not on this visit shop around. Especially since I was just here to pick up an item. In regards to that, that went really swiftly. Walked up, had my email ready to show them I was there for my item. These days I only go here if I am in desperate need of some electronics or some laptop assistance or something. They're so expensive though! Still, when my girl's laptop was giving me crap during my recent stay in Pitt, this is where I stopped in. Have not needed anything from Best Buy in a couple of years and after today's experience it will be a LONG TIME before I go back into one. I drove a longer distance to the Monroeville Best Buy after seeing online that this one store had a computer that I was interested in, when no other one closer had that item. When I did not see that particular item displayed, I looked at alternatives that would match my requirement. I found one that I thought would work, then had to look all over the computer part of the store to try to find one in a box. Zero help offered from any employees working there. In the process of searching I found what appeared to be both the one ai originally came in for and the alternative option. That left me with a few questions about the products, so I continued to wait for the employee that had been helping another customer for an extended period of time to free up. When he did, he walked back to the front of the store and never returned. When I walked up to the front to get help, the answer was that they put customers on a list for help and I would be next. I returned to the computer section to wait and no employee ever came to help, but I saw employees talking together in the front of the store instead of assisting customers. I am not sure if the employees thought older customers were not worth their time. If it was something about the way I was dressed, but after being in the store for well over 45 minutes with no help offered, I made a call on which to purchase and checked out unassisted on the product questions. I should have just walked out and pass on the purchase, but I drove a significant distance to make the purchase and already wasted too much time to go elsewhere. As a manager in a different type of business, my comment to my wife was that if i had employees that treated customers that way, I would have fired someone on the spot. That thought is far from the way I manage, but the customer care today at this Best Buy was that bad. Will never frequent this store ever again, and may completely stop shopping at the chain. Circuit City! Silo! Sun TV! Where are you when I need you?! I was a big fan of Circuit City until they went under. Best Buy wasn't bad. They had a better selection, but were more expensive. Then Circuit City filed for bankruptcy and closed all their stores. They're still around just online only. http://www.circuitcity.com. After Circuit City closed Best Buy's prices got better as they are the biggest electronics chain in the country. Some years went by. Then they decided to redesign all of their stores! Who redesigned them? A three year old?! I hate them now! You can't find anything. Everything is in a new location. If your looking for a LED or Plasma 3D TV that's on sale in their weekly flyer forget about it! They won't have it in stock. It will be on back order. They must of had layoffs as they don't have enough associates working anymore. And my biggest complaint is that they only have ONE checkout line now! I had to wait over 20 minutes to buy one item even though the sign at the end of the line said that the wait was five minutes from that point. I disagree! What? Disagree about some negative reviews for Best Buy. Disagree with Consumer Reports' comments about pricing. Recently I had a major hassle with Home Depot delivery for an electric clothes dryer. Could not get them to accomodate my work schedule. Cancelled the order. A month later and almost an hour spent on the phone with Home Depot, I still have not received a credit for the cancelled order. Takes "up to six weeks" to investigate. In the meantime I placed the order with Best Buy online/Monroeville store. Very easy to order for the same price, quickly setup a convenient delivery... and receive the order on time at my home. No problems at all. Tonight I needed a Vonage Digital Phone Service Box. Best Buy in Monroeville had the item in-stock for a much better price than Vonage. No delivery fees. No delivery delays. Picked the item up in the store less than an hour after ordering. Stupid me: after ordering a 5 unit Panasonic cordless phone system from an online company, I checked with Best Buy Monroeville. Yes, they had the phone in-stock and for less money than my online order from someone else. I could have installed the complete system tonight. Live and learn. Try Best Buy. I cannot speak for the associates, but my online/pickup-in-the-store experiences have been very good. read more

Now that they've redesigned the store, the bathrooms have become something of a hazard. Someone didn't read the mounting instructions for the toilet paper dispensers, instead of putting the bottom at lap height where the paper comes out, they put the top! So you have to lean way down almost to the floor to get any paper out. It's such a bad design that my wife cut open her finger on the cutting rail. The manager we spoke to said they've complained, but corporate says it's at the proper height. I say forget corporate and take matters in your own hands. Because of the injury we were to be contacted by a corporate rep the next day. That day has come and gone for over a week with no contact at all. As far as stock, they don't have any unless you're looking for an iphone or ipad, or anything Apple related, then they have lots. The new checkout design reminds me of being at an amusement park or a high school cafeteria lunch line. I too miss Circuit City and am going to shop online more often in the new year. Purchased a dell laptop and after 3 months the screen stopped working. Took it to Best Buy abs they blamed geek squad, took it to geek squad and they blame Best Buy. Call dell and they recommend Best Buy. It was a nightmare to get customer service. Ended up finally getting dell to help and it was something as simple as dismembering the laptop and plugging something underneath of the keyboard. 3 weeks with no laptop(which I use for work)and all that was needed could have been taken care of by the geek squad right there the day I went in. Would not recommend Best Buy for anyone, and plus you could eliminate the middle man and just buy direct from the manufacturing company. read more

Horrible experience at this place today. This was my second run in with a bad Best Buy experience this week and from hereon out will be taking a break from BB. On the inside, everything was nice, very snazzy and modern look for a Best Bu. The employees? Well, they were non- existent. I think they were open since the automatic doors opened for me but I couldn't find one employee in sight. After a few minutes I finally found one but when I was making my way to go ask him a question, he walked away. The Sprint dude ended up pointing me in the right direction. Soon, I found out where all the employees were--there three employees helping one person at the customer service desk and not even a cashier station open-wtf? Really, it takes three people to assist one person? I was going to drop some money on a GPS today but after the horrible customer experience there, I won't be going back to Best Buy. Purchased a Apple Macbook from Monroeville, PA store on April 8th, and tried to restore backup on Friday night. I found a issue with the screen in the corner. I took it back to Monroeville where they said it was damaged and would not exchange, fix or refund my money. They gave a lame excuse that they don't do anything with damage. I was also told I would have had to bring it back the night I bought. I was not ready to transfer my things during the week but wanted the 699 sale price. It became very frustrating to the point I took it from the store to Apple. The techs at Apple said it was a machine problem , and helped me call the Best Buy store to explain it should be exchanged. The took the laptop apart and found no water nothing. I got the form of the status, and with time running out to it to the closest BB in Homestead, PA. This was the worst mistake I could have made. I was treated like I stole the device, and the assistant manger appeared. These two power hungry people informed me how they didn't care what Apple said, they wouldn't deal with it. I explained in plain english, how Apple explained they would ship the laptop but it was 3 days from purchase. They said the quickest solution was for them to replace it. The assist talk down to me about the laptop, expressing how he didn't know if the laptop came from BB. He said the system would reject a refund. I asked if he would process it and see. He said he wouldn't do that for me, because he deems it as damaged because he has never seen an Apple broken. These two echoed each other telling me how they refuse to consider sending the laptop to the Best Buy repair. I didn't even know they had that. They said that would cost $149 just for them to look at it, and take a couple weeks. I pressed them about what was the policy over and over. This Asst Mgr basically would tell me other options, and then say he wasn't going to provide them. I ask for the GM and he give me a card with Keith's name. the last name I don't remember. I was defeated and embarrassed at BB. I will never make a purchase from Best Buy again. I certainly will never walk into BB in Homestead, PA and Monroeville, PA. I can't say it was a race thing exactly, but there was certainly a lack of respect or courtesy to my situation. I feel bad for the community that is serviced by people like this. Best buy has always been my favorite goto store for electronics and dvd's. I've come here for lots of stuff in the past. I bought my first 40 in TV here and surround sound for a really low price. They remodeled this best buy so it's a lot more open and the aisles are less crowded. They offer cell phones, computers, andy basic electronics. They even have a mobil electronic spot where you can have your car tricked out with a sound system or a remote starter. I had my car alarm installed here after someone broke into my car and stole my sounds. I was pretty upset about that. I thought my car had an original sound system on it but it turned out it only had the anti-theft option where the car couldn't be stolen. So I went online purchased a viper and had best buy install it. Only downside is that the prices are expensive and after I got my car alarm installed they had no record of me ever getting the work done. That sucked because i needed to have my alarm fixed but since they had no record of me ever coming there I was kinda screwed. I'd still shop here for clearance or sale items. read more

All the staff where properly wearing masks and protective gear. They we cleaning surfaces after each customer and I received excellent service. Dropped my laptop off with GeekSquad yesterday (I have the full service plan). The fix to the problem was pretty simple, restoring the device back to factory, though I was still concerned about the turn around. The laptop was done less than 24 hrs later and I was able to pick it up and get back to school. I really appreciated the turn around and would recommend this squad for any tech issues. Purchased remote starter online. I went to schedule the installation and the first available appointment was for over a month later on December 31st. I was not able to see the available appointments before purchasing the remote starter or I would have not purchased it. I took my truck to the Monroeville, Pa store today for my 12:00 appointment. As there was no sign designating where I was supposed to go for installation, I parked in the parking lot and went in the front door. I was then directed where to drive my truck to. After moving my truck to the appropriate area I went back into the store where I was told I had to go back up to the front of the store to get the parts(remote starter kit) that were being installed. I got the parts from the front of the store and took them back to the technician to have them installed. In the confirmation email I was told the estimated installation time was 90 min. It took the technician 4 hours to complete the installation on my vehicle as he at one point stopped working on my truck and completed an installation on another car. At this point I was obviously very angry and asked to speak to the manager, The MOD Vivian came to speak with me. I explained the situation to her and asked how a 90 min installation took 4 hours. She was unapologetic and unprofessional in her attitude towards me. She basically said there was nothing she could do and that I had to wait until my truck was done. When I said that this was unacceptable customer service she was condescending towards me asking me if I wanted her to have the technician do the job faster but not do it right. Worst customer service I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!! Based on this experience, I do not plan on ever purchasing anything from Best Buy again. I recently purchased an Apple watch for my daughter's 18th birthday at Best Buy in Monroeville. The Best Buy was convenient and we felt good shopping locally. The watch cost, along with an additional two year warranty, was in excess of $700.00. The Best Buy associate told me if we had any problems at any time to bring it back to Best Buy for quick and professional service. He never mentioned having to take it to Apple if there were any issues or problems. Six weeks after the purchase, one of the side buttons failed and no longer worked. We visited the Monroeville store where it was purchased and were told we had to take it to an Apple store in Shadyside or Ross Park Mall because they could not remedy the problem and would not replace it. This was in complete contrast to what we had been told by the Best Buy representative. The manager I spoke with, Tom, agreed but said there was nothing he could do about it. This will be the last time I make a purchase at Best Buy in Monroeville and will make the extra trip to a local Apple store where their words matter and they service the products they sell. I would not recommend Best Buy in Monroeville for anything except screen wipes because they don't back up their words or many of the various products they sell. read more

Sometimes I wonder why I sold my soul to the devil aka Best Buy. I'm involved in their reward zone program (Premier Silver Status) and have a credit card with them. This location has awful customer service yet I keep going back because it's convenient. In 2010, I purchased from them: a 50" Samsung Plasma HDTV, a TV stand, TV accessories, Kinect, Kinect Games, Xbox Games, a Nikon D3100, and Nikon accessories. If I could give BB no stars I would have. After 2 months and four (FOUR!) Kindle HD Fires my patience are gone with this place. I bought my mom a Kindle Fire HD when they first came out about two years ago. I know people poop on Kindle, but I HATE Apple (see other Yelp) and for an older, non-tech savvy person Kindles are much easier to use. Her Fire worked perfectly until about 2 months ago when the screen cracked. We took it to BB- it was still until warranty- and they gave us a new one. Easy Peasy right? Wrong! The new version of the Kindle Fire HDX they gave us worked for 15 days. Then one day it shut off as mom was looking at recipes (her favorite past time). Just turned off and wouldn't go back on. She tried charging it. Nothing. So, back to BB we go. Even though the new Kindle is only 15 days old, they don't look at it, they don't try to diagnose it, they give us a third one. Fast forward 11 days, that one shuts off and will not start again. I took mom back and tried asking the BB employee questions; if there were a lot of Kindles returned, if they knew of a glitch of some kind, etc. She says no, yeah that's weird and then tries to get us to upgrade to a Samsung. When mom asked some questions- remember she's not to tech savvy- the girl says "I don't know. You'd have to look into that but Samsung is much better." WTF? Much better? First of all, if you are going to attempt an upgrade sell maybe you should have some answers first! Do a better job at selling your upgrade lazy. Second, what I realized is, BB doesn't care about Kindle products. They have a Samsung rep IN THE STORE 7 days a week, so it's my feeling they have a deal w/Samsung and that's why lazy was trying to push it. I am still mad about that. Then, after I said no to the Samsung, she stops dead and says, "I get off now. I'll find someone else to help you." And walks away. No joke. We ended up getting a fourth. I really don't have a choice. They won't give me money back; only store credit. Now, I'm not blaming BB for the Kindles not working; personally I think there is a glitch somewhere, but they never helped us. They had no interest in dealing with customers who purchased Kindles. I recently had a great experience here while shopping (and eventually purchasing) a new HDTV. I made the mistake of buying a smart TV over at Walmart (which I will never do again), and as soon as I got home to hook it up it didn't work properly. I swallowed my pride and opened up my wallet to come to Best Buy. I was pleasantly surprised at the low price at which I bought the Panasonic tv. I actually enjoyed the laissez faire attitude of the staff- leave me alone while I peruse and I'll let you know if I have any questions! We purchased a washer and dryer from Best Buy in monroeville last Sunday 2/17 and scheduled delivery for 2/22 from 4-8pm. The delivery team called my boyfriend and informed that they were 5 Mins away, and even sent a text to my phone that they'd be here at a certain time. 9:30pm rolls around and we're still without a washer and dryer and the next available delivery date is Tuesday 2/27. There were no phone calls made to us that they weren't going to make it today, and we weren't informed of the missed delivery until we actually called customer service. Once speaking to the less than helpful rep, she was unapologetic and did little to nothing to correct the mistake that was made today. From someone who works in customer service, a no show delivery that was the companies fault should have high priority as to things that should be fixed. But apparently not at Best Buy. We are now 10 days without clean clothes, and inconvenienced doesn't even start to describe what we are at this point. Never stepping foot in a Best Buy again. read more

I bought an open box refrigerator a couple weeks ago, the day before it was supposed to arrive my boyfriend got a phone call saying they couldn't deliver it that Saturday. Then got a phone call confirming their delivery for that day. He thought it was strange so called the first number back, after 45 minutes on the phone they confirmed we would not be getting it the day we planned for. We were slightly annoyed because we just moved so he took off work to clear a pathway for them to bring it in and I took off work the day it was supposed to come, but never did. We figured oh well it happens. We scheduled a new time and it was actually delivered then. The two men that delivered it were the only good thing about the situation. We plugged the refrigerator in and little bit later it was still not getting cold. There was a light blinking where the temperature was supposed to be. After 24 hours it was still not working. My boyfriend called Samsung (because it was a Samsung refrigerator) and they said unplug it for a little and plug it back in. Still didn't work. He called Best Buy and was on the phone for over 4 HOURS. Everyone kept telling him they need to transfer him to another department, eventually he went through every person and was back to the beginning (not to mention the couple times while he was on hold they just hung up on him). The next day I called and still got no help after being on the phone for over 2 hours with different departments. I spoke to a store manager and she told me it was cost $310 for a brand new refrigerator (instead of our open box), then lowered the price to $60. I couldn't even allow myself to pay that because of pain best buy caused me. I already missed work, wasted hours of my time and had to throw away groceries and the manager didn't even apologize. I will NEVER buy any appliances from best buy and will not be suggesting them to anyone. read more
