At first they offered me $1.50 as compensation (the amount of money I put in the dryer). I thought I was reasonable by only asking for $20. They countered with $10, which I refused. $20 was not an unreasonable amount for $100 worth of laundry I lost plus the time it will take me to buy new stuff. The owner refused so now we'll bring the matter to small claims court for the full $100. The lady who works there was very nice as she had to serve as the mediator for the owner. I felt sorry for her because the owner put her in that position, but she was courteous and professional.

The slacks came back folded in a pile with the creases laid flat. Some ties I sent came back with the linings twisted. I decided I wasn't going to use them again. This week I got caught up in work and decided to give them another try. Big mistake! I sent a pile of shirts, two suits, and several pairs of slacks. I gave detailed instructions in my order: the shirts were to be laundered and pressed, the slacks dry cleaned and placed on hangers properly, etc. Yesterday evening, the driver shows up with shirts on hangers. I had to ask where the rest of the order was. He comes back with my laundry bag with clothes in it (everything was supposed to be on hangers). I open the bag and find my suit pants and the other slacks I sent once again folded improperly. I realized they had been laundered and not dry cleaned. My shirts had all been dry cleaned and were on hangers. The jackets to my suits and a laundry basket I had sent were nowhere to be found. Furious, I called and got Jim who said he would investigate. They found my jackets and I was told they would be delivered in the morning. As to my complaints about unwillingness to follow directions, I received an apology and a refund, but otherwise just that competition for workers left Jim, the owner, in a bind. Understandable, but if McDonald's is paying more than dry cleaners, pay your people more and raise my rates if necessary but do NOT provide bad service! As of this writing, I still have not received my jackets. I called Jim again and the small amount of snow that fell overnight apparently has delayed their drivers. My errands are completely unimportant, apparently. Sorry Jim, never again.

The attendant was friendly and helpful, answering my questions, and wishing me a nice day as she was leaving. Today, there was no attendant when I arrived about 1 p.m., and the place was still spotless, despite several people doing laundry. What a refreshing difference from the last 2 visits to Shannon Suds. I had a female Yelper send me a "compliment", saying it wasn't the owners' fault for it being dirty, and I wasn't being fair. First, that's NOT a compliment. It's a comment. Second, if you use her same reasoning, then it's not the owner's fault if you walk into a dirty restaurant.
