I appreciated how clean the laundromat was when I was there. I rarely use laundromats so I was not familiar with the pricing structure. For example, there was a surcharge for using hot (+50 cents) or warm (+25 cents) water instead of cold.
The larger capacity definitely helped but I had no idea how long the dryers needed to run to get things actually dried. Being a novice and not seeing any explanatory signage, I had no idea I could keep adding quarters into the dryers to avoid the 50 cent initial charge every time.
One of the dryers was broken, though, so I got help from one of the employees who also taught me the system. My ignorance cost me extra but I was thankful for the lesson.
You may not want to read this long review, so here's the bottom line: I can recommend using this business without hesitation.
I will also mention how helpful the associate was that took care of the broken dryer issue. She was pleasant, respected my time, and did not seem bothered by my need for assistance. She made the experience more palatable by her kindness and caring attitude.
And on my 3rd visit, there was an issue with one of the washers taking my coins but not crediting them to the load, and the coin return button didn't work. I called the number listed and was able to get the load started. Also, the gentleman had me call for a free start on a dryer when the load was done washing. He, too, was kind, knowledgeable, and even apologized for my having trouble (very respectful of my time).
To update the pricing, yet again: my third visit I discovered another error on my part. There are smaller capacity washers available that I overlooked earlier. Those machines start at $3.50/load (2 laundry baskets (LBs) worth of clothes) (+50 cents for hot, 25 cents for cold, and 25 cents for additional time... I forget the time allotted at the basic price and how many minutes the added quarters get you). The next size up (3 LBs) start at $4.50/load. Then, base the next larger (6 LBs) is $9+/load & the largest (9 LBs) is $12+/load). I apologize for the lengthy review but I hope it helps.
Finally, there is a sign that explains the additional charge added for the use of plastic. I thought it meant debit cards (which I have seen before since that utilizes a withdrawal from a checking account that could have insufficient funds, etc.) but it is tacked on to credit card transactions, as well. Every time I swiped my card at a machine, an extra $10 was charged to my account (in addition to the actual cost of the load). According to the man I spoke with on the phone, those fees should be removed... time will tell. read more
