Consumers! Don's Appliances is not just an incompetent company; they're a hazard to your safety and well-being. My recent experience with them installing a gas dryer in my home was a nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anyone! Let me paint you a picture of the horror that unfolded: After having the gas dryer installed by Don's on Tuesday, I stopped back at our new house later in the week, only to be greeted by an overpowering stench of gas on my porch. Opening the door revealed an even stronger odor permeating throughout the house. It turned out that the source of this lethal gas leak was that of a brand new dryer Don's had installed. Peoples Gas was called to investigate the situation, they discovered that my home had been filling with gas for four days. Four days of being one spark away from potential disaster, all thanks to the incompetence of Don's Appliance Installation Department. When confronted, the response from Don's was extremely lackluster. They offered to send a service technician to fix their mistake, as if that would somehow undo the danger they had exposed me and my family to. Why would I let these people back in my home? It wasn't until I suggested to them TODAY that they cover the cost of the plumber I had to hire to ensure my home was safe that they agreed. But why should I have had to suggest that? Why did I have to call over and over and over again to finally have someone call me back. Why did I have to lose my temper so ridiculously until I was heard. WHY am I the one that even suggested that solution. OH I know why, Tim (Install Manager) said it was because my husband told them not to come out and fix it. That to me is laughable. OF COURSE you are not going to fix it you almost killed me and my neighbors. What truly appalls me is the complete lack of human decency displayed by Don's Appliances. Tim just kept repeating - what do you want us to do we offered to send someone out to fix it. WHAT ABOUT a follow up call TIM! Why was I the one continually trying to reach your company. But don't worry everyone. The technician who did not install the hoses properly. - He lost a day of work. I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE! That doesn't mean crap to Don's installation. If you value your safety and sanity, steer clear of Don's Appliances at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and find a company that actually cares about its customers, because Don's Installation department certainly doesn't. A follow up call is what you should have done. A follow up call was all that was needed. But TIM said, we told him we did not want service to come out to fix the problem. WOW! As I said to TIM on the phone today - SIT WITH THIS - What if it was your family, your neighbors? A 60 second phone call to ensure the well being of your customer, whether we used your service or not- THATS what I wanted you to do. BUT YOU DID NOT ! What we did get was a persistent stream of links sent to my husband, asking him to write a review on the installation. It seems Don's priority lies in soliciting positive reviews rather than ensuring the safety and satisfaction of their customers. So here you go, Don's Appliances, a review you won't be eager to showcase. One positive note, amidst the chaos, there was one shining star at Don's--Ed, the salesman. He was the only one who spoke to me without arrogance and showed respect. Despite the overall appalling experience, Ed's professionalism and demeanor were a small silver lining in an otherwise dismal situation. Let me start by saying that the salesman in the delivery men for Ross were excellent. However, I was extremely disappointed with the wait time. I was promised my dryer and a delivery date was scheduled. it didn't arrive until three weeks after the original delivery date. I ended up at the laundromat for weeks and when I asked them for some monetary compensation, they refused. I went with small store in hopes that the customer service would be better than a big box store. I regret that now. Management should be willing to compensate when their company cannot deliver, what they promised. read more

We thought we had a broken lid switch on our washer and were told it was a relatively easy and cheap fix. This was the only place in our area to sell parts. The man at the counter was not particularly polite or friendly but he got us our part and wrote up a receipt. He brushed it off when we questioned the different length of the part. I expected to pay more than if we had purchased the part online. Amazon has them for around $10 and several YouTube videos said it is around a $10 part. This has the convenience of being able to get the part and not wait for it. Unfortunately there was a BIG difference in cost. The part was $35 here. Still cheaper than paying a repairman to come out. However in the future I would probably go to Amazon and wait a day or two. read more

My oven needed to be repaired so I called Ross to inquire if they would be able to schedule an appointment and was told the repair man would return my call. I sit here, waiting to hear back from a plumber, to finish installing my new dishwasher. This is something you could expect if you own an older home and buy a new dishwasher from Ross Appliances. My saga starts with the delivery date being changed. Thankfully, the option they gave me worked, but I had this date set in stone for two weeks. Not off to a good start, but I'm sure you all figured that out with my first paragraph. The install, or I should say, what they installed I had no problems. What is pissing me off is the install is not complete and I paid for the installation. This installation would get everything up and going and was told if there needed to be changing with the piping, no problem, they're professionals. What a load of crap. Now we come back to where we started. The dishwasher sits in, not installed. The water pipe is too long and they can't fix that, I have to call a plumber. They did what they could and that was it. This new dishwasher is maybe 75% installed and I have to wait to get a plumber out here... Whatever you do also, their recommendation for a plumber is a jerk. Said he would call me back in an hour and I had to call him back, but waited two hours in case. Can't help me for a few days...a few days... Thank you Ross Appliances for giving me so much damn stress. Your sales team will say anything to get the sale, even if it's lying. Don't tell people you can get it installed and even fix plumbing if needed. That's a bunch of crap. I am just hoping that this plumbing bill is not too expensive. I can tell you one thing, I will be going back to Ross Appliances for this install bill I'm going to get. Love how some of the fee, not including the piping, I'm sure, I'll be paying this plumber is FINISHING YOUR JOB WITH THE DISHWASHER INSTALL. This did make things easier for me. When I need my stove and microwave replaced this year, I will NOT buy from Ross Appliances. Never in a million years. UPDATE: had a very nice plumber come out and ended up with a $250 bill. Best part, most of this was due to the dishwasher NOT being installed like I was told. A simple one pipe install after the plumber did his thing, FALSE!!! Took my Dyson vacuum there and they told me they would call me when they knew what was wrong with it, they called me after they fixed it and said it needed cleaned and would cost $40. I went in to pick up and they told me it was $100 because it needed a new clutch. I would have not authorized that but they did it anyway without telling me they were going to charge me $100. Owners would Not work with me. Very unprofessional and very disappointing and will never go back. So a lot of people are complaining about Ross Appliance. I must say that my husband & I have bought ALL our appliances from Ross since buying our first home in 1985. They have ALWAYS been professional and lived up to their promises. A few years ago we purchased a second washer from them that has NOT lived up to our expectations, but it wasn't Ross's fault, it was the fault of the manufacturer. I needed a new belt on the drum of my dryer. The tech was prompt and professional. However, the repair only took 10 minutes and I was charged $170 for labor. This is absurd. I will look elsewhere next time I need an appliance repair. read more

My Maytag dryer timer went bad and I called Roos Appliance for the part as I have been doing for a long time. I talked to Edward and he was extremely helpful. They didn't have the part in stock but could have it the next day. I told him the dryer was only 3 years old and Edward suggested I call Maytag and ask for the part. I called Maytag and they would cover the part but only through a licensed tech which they said cost $99.99 for diagnosis plus about $50-$100 labor. I called Edward back and he suggested I call Maytag back and plead my case again. I called the next day and after about a ten minute conversation Maytag is sending me the part free of charge. I have always had very good service from the Ross people. They have even shown me the parts diagram and how to install. If you are mechanical and good with your hands and want to save some money go to Ross for the parts and do it yourself. Thanks Edward for all you help! read more

Update: Just found out that Ross replaced my roller brush under the vacuum with a substandard part - not a Dyson part (which is what they removed). The roller they installed has thinner rows of shorter bristles. Cheesy rip off. They should've at least retained my removed parts until I picked up the vacuum and was satisfied with the repair. Clearly a business practice that benefits them at the expense of the customer. read more

I went to Ross because of a recommendation. The day I purchased the dishwasher the salesman assured me that his crew could install it. I did tell him that I had a problem with getting a dishwasher would that could clear my plumbing on the floor in the back and I needed a dishwasher that could accommodate it. He said not to worry. The servicemen were very professional and tried to get it to fit but they could not get it all the way in. They hooked it up and said I could use it but I needed to call a plumber to complete the installation. I wish the salesman would have taken a little more time and looked up the specs of the dishwasher, it would have prevented me from getting upset and costing me additional money for the plumber. (I was replacing a dishwasher that did accommodate my problem prior to purchasing the one from Ross but it was a different brand) read more

I was in the market for a new washing machine. Nobody today has washing machines in stock, I drove to all the local home improvement stores, Best Buy, hhgreg (now closed). My wife looked up Ross appliance and the website said they are open Tuesday and Thursday until 8:00pm so we took a drive. As we pulled into the parking lot with the trailer a little after 6:00pm on 8/29/17 two individuals that I only assume work at Ross by their attire, were trying to maneuver their cars out of the parking lot around my trailer. They watched me walk to the door ( hours of operation sign said open until 7:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and continued to drive out of the lot. If it was possible to give zero stars I would.
