We purchased a dishwasher from Daniel's. The installer installed the appliance crooked. The first time I called they never got back to me. The 2nd time I called they refused to remedy the problem, stating that the warranty on the install had expired. I have since found out that they use subs for their installs. I could have went anywhere with cash in hand! Our major frig was awaiting mfg repairs (not related to Daniels) we decided to buy an addl frig for game room that we were planning on anyway & needed one asap so off to Daniels as one that we decided on was on line & avail now! Sales rep Daniel seemed very receptive & knowledgeable. After good insp of the one avail on display we brought it & had it picked up. It is my opinion when we went to pick up the frig was shrunk wrapped & couldn't see it. Once brought home the frig seemed twisted & doors would not line up. I called Daniels within the hour & all I got was a run around with no return calls! I was appalled at their disregard & ghosting of my calls! I finally got a call from the service man he tried to line the handles up & stated it was not anything we did! Don't use them, I found frig cheaper at the big box stores, I wanted to supply this store since my Dad went there for years but they don't call back or try to make things right!!! This took them over a month with numerous calls to give any respect! Go somewhere else. My upright freezer bit the dust on a Friday afternoon at 4pm. We immediately ran down to Daniel's hoping to get something to take home on the spot but they were out of stock at this location. They could order what I wanted for pick up on Monday. We worked with Mark to place that order and he was very helpful and efficient in taking care of us. While we were talking to him, Marty, the owner, started talking to us as well. He was genuinely concerned for us and trying to find an immediate solution so we wouldn't lose all of our frozen food over the weekend. He contacted the Allison Park store and found that they had a smaller size freezer in stock that he offered to us as a loaner for the weekend if we could pick up it up from that store. Never have I worked with an appliance store that cared so much and was willing go to that extreme to help. We saved our frozen goods by getting the loaner and then we returned it when we got our new freezer on Monday. The new freezer is so nice and big and bright. I can only hope it last as long as its predecessor that we purchased at Daniel's 23 years prior. read more

I had posted a previous bad review about an ongoing issue with a new speed Queen dryer that failed after two cycles. I am happy to announce that Speed Queen ultimately decided to replace the dryer. Once Daniels received the return authorization they quickly made arrangements to deliver a new machine. I received the machine today and the delivery team was professional and courteous. I've always liked going here. When I was working on a plumbing project a friend told me to go to 3 Brothers plumbing and heating supplies. I went, but they have LOUSY hours, are expensive, and not only didn't have a few things I needed but told me they aren't even made anymore. So, I went to my trusty Daniels' instead, like I should have to begin with. Amazingly they had the very items I needed, including what I was told was not even made anymore. 3 Brothers completely lost my business after that. Even if Daniels doesn't have it I will NEVER go there as they are blatant liars with crappy hours. I love going here to be able to get one or two bolts, or nuts or whatever, instead of an entire package. For a small store they have almost everything I ever need for my projects or home maintenance. The staff is always friendly and greet you when you come in. They are always asking if you need help. If you need help and they are not right there just go to the counter and they will help. Unlike at a big box store when you need help and you can't find a stinking soul to help you. lol. They will talk with you about what you are doing and looking for and can make suggestions or will look for an answer. At a big box store once you DO find somebody, half the time they can't help and have to get somebody else. So, their hours are great. Their staff is friendly, helpful and around. The selection is great. And their prices are not bad either. read more

They sell appliances with prices similar to lot other local stores and the big box stores. If you choose to have them install it the service will be extremely unprofessional. In addition be prepared to have a number of items necessary for a correct installation on hand...despite being told at purchase that the installers would have everything necessary. In addition do not plan on receiving any response after you make the purchase. I have emailed them twice and received no response back. Overall a great example of a locally owned business that really does not appear to offer quality service. read more

Daniel's sold me a new Fridgidaire refrigerator 7 months ago. It just quit working and my tenant has now gone one MONTH without food at home except what she can have delivered. The one year warranty is worthless and Fridgiare is finally just sending someone out. My new washer & dryer delivered we're both defective, but they refused to take the washer because the installer turned on the water to check that everything was working, and it is now considered used--excuse me?? So this expensive, never-used washing machine needs to be serviced & when I called the store to discuss the issue, the associate who spoke to me was insulting and rude. I could have gone anywhere to buy a dryer but went to this store to support a local business. I'm pretty sure Daniel's delivered a floor model. The dryer had problems from the start. I had to do all of the work to try to rectify the situation even though I am the customer and had bought two machines from them. If you want to have a good experience at this place, just hope you do not end up with a floor model or a lemon because this company does not back up their products. They just want to sell and move on. It's too much trouble for them if issues arise. The place is run down and dingy and most of the employees are of a low, unprofessional quality. There was minimal assistance in choosing the right appliance and a blatant disregard for customer service and retention from the top down with very little exception. The calls were a mix of rude and snickering on speaker phone as though you are the butt of a joke. Ultimately, you are ghosted and left scrambling on your own to solve a problem that has dragged on mercilessly for months. The manager and owner are friends so there is nowhere to go with your dissatisfaction. They seem like Shysters. I almost filed a complaint with the Attorney General. Read the reviews and you will see a pattern of what occurs with those who have purchased an unreliable appliance from Daniel's: AGGRAVATION! I will never buy from here again and encourage those I know to do the same. Stick with the big box stores if you want a company that stands behind its appliances and customers. read more

purchased a warranty on a refrigerator that we purchased new 2/2015. The refrigerator broke 2/2018 The warranty repairman they work with is completely unprofessional. After he came out to diagnose, neither he or Daniels did not return our calls when we called to ask about the status of our repair. The refrigerator has still not been repaired. This is the 7th appliance we have purchased through Daniels. Prior to this experience I recommended them all the time. Now I will never recommend. I have to tell of a great experience. I stopped at Daniels Discount Appliances. Met a great salesman Craig Hoge, ordered a full kitchen of appliances. He gave an estimated time of delivery. He called the day before estimated. I wasn't ready for them, so Dave (warehouse manager) asked "when, you tell me. "I told him the day and the delivery was right on. I was shocked to see the previous review. But then again, I've never had any store, big or small, let me tell them when they were coming. The best you can get is "morning" or "afternoon". My experience was the complete opposite..I could not get over how friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating they were. My handyman and other workers at my house had been talking this place up for years, and when I finally went in myself, I was greeted at the door, helped through choosing my purchase, and check out person was very friendly. I bought a washer and a fridge from Daniels in September 2018. In May the fridge looks like it caught fire and ruined my food .Daniels said they would work with the factory rep to replace it but I had to call to get a tech sent out first. I've spent a total of about 3 hours on the phone so far to have 1 appointment not scheduled.. the 2nd one not scheduled and now have to wait another 4 days to have someone even look at it .. who's paying for me to eat out?.. who's paying for the food I already lost ?? When I first stopped back at Daniels they made it sound all too easy to get replaced but now when I call no one has a clue what the issue is .. I give one star now .. if they make good I'll change my rating ... UPDATE.. I called today and spoke with Mark.. I told him that I had a case number from Frigidaire for the replacement.. his response was .. well we don't have anything.. very disappointing when I was previously told by the Operations Director that they would do everything they could do to assist, and work with their sales rep.. This has been a horrific experience that I hope no one else ever has to go thru. It is now June 10 .. and I have been without a fridge since May 23...UPDATE.. June 11.. Rod. The Operations Director.. called me today (funny they only call when something is posted online).. he claims he spoke to his sales rep and it will be ANOTHER 7 to 10 BUSINESS. Days before a new fridge will arrive at their store to replace .. Stay Tuned .... UPDATE... still no replacement...today will be day 8 since any update from the store.. and 29 days with no fridge!!..June 25..UPDATE.. well today is 10 business days since the last communication with the store.. and day 33 with no fridge.. lets see if they call.. for a store that told me they would work with their sales rep to get this resolved.. It seems either they don't have a good relationship with the rep... or they simply don't give a shit as long as they got their money. The store responded to the BBB complaint that they offered a loaner fridge.. however that statement was 100% not true.. they never offered to bring a 'loaner' . I thought I would be further ahead trying to support a small, local business, but this experience has taught me otherwise.. THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL. It's one excuse after another. They don't have a service tech on site not because they do 't have the work.. but because they're too damn cheap to pay one !!.. let's see what today brings and will update if there's a change.. UPDATE.. June 27.. Rod.. the Director Of Operations.. called me yesterday to let me know the new fridge has arrived and we scheduled the delivery for this Saturday.. he's making it very clear that the blame for this is Frigidaire.. and not with his store.. Every conversation is the same thing.. I'm well aware that Daniels did not manufacture the appliance.. and there are policies that need to be followed.. however 35 days with no fridge.. and it's time to make exceptions to standard policies .. UPDATE... The new fridge was delivered Saturday . the delivery driver was the same one that brought the first one and he was as pleasant and as friendly as he was the first time.. As a Customer Experience Manager, I feel this whole situation was not handled with the customer in mind.. Although the warranty was not issued by Daniels.. I feel that they could have done something to move this along alot quicker than it was.. My nephew was here over the weekend and they have dealt with Daniels many times .. they need to buy a new dryer this month ana he said that after this mess, he'll never deal with the store again.. all I can say is .. 'Buyer Beware'.. they are fast to make the sale and take your money, But when there is an issue. they are just as fast to pass the buck/blame off to someone else.. My landlord bought me a fridge here yesterday. I called them to set up the delivery. They guy on the phone was chilly and abrupt. These folks will not work with your schedule, you have to work with their's. I was told the choices were either Thursday or Saturday, thats it. I said how about Thursday afternoon, around 4? No, he said, he can't tell me when they will be there. The delivery guy will call me and give a 2 hour window. I couldn't even request any point in the whole afternoon, he said no because they could be in my area at 8am and thats when I would get it. Rude, humorless, cold, and extremely dismissive. This is why everyone goes to the 'big box' stores now, like Best Buy or HH Gregg. Better prices, better selection, and greater flexibility. read more
