The customer service is terrible my washer worked for no even a week and they refused to do anything about it and here it is over 2 years later and im still fighting and I was told to just buy another because it will cost more to fix it is what I was told i will never ever buy anything from them ever again and I got the washer dryer and stove from them they dont stand behind there job read more

Very disappointed in their service. We intentionally purchased an extended warranty for new appliance. The technician performed the service and never indicated that it was not covered under the warranty. Later I received a bill where 3/4 of it was labor and travel. Also I found the same part they installed on the manufacture's website and Don's charged 50% more for the part. read more

I bought a washer that after 1 yr needed repaired. It was still under warranty so I made an appt to get it fixed by Don's. I had to wait 4 weeks for an appt & had no washer in the meantime. I gave them the ERROR CODE on the washer so they could have the parts 3 weeks ahead of my appt. The day of my appt he DIDN'T have the parts & said it would be a few more weeks!!! With NO washer. That is unacceptable. I will NEVER buy anything from them again!!! read more

I needed a new dryer and having used Don's for other appliances I didn't hesitate to go there first. Sales department was very helpful in getting what I wanted. Delivery was set up quickly in just 2 days time. When they arrived to deliver and set up the new unit I was told that the power cord didn't fit (it was too short) and they did not stock the one I needed so I would have to purchase that myself. I found the correct one and called for them to finish their installation only to be told that since they didn't stock the correct power cord they wouldn't be able to complete the installation. Needless to say, I won't be giving them any more of my business. read more

we always wind up here in the end. we go, look around, from store to store. & then we go to don's, & leave happy. at this point, all of our appliances have come from don's. so the dishwasher we had died. in this day & age, you know how hard it is to get things you have to order! i made sure i was pretty easy. i asked, what do you have in stock that is either black or the black steel. they had an lg. looked nice. sold! if we picked it up, we saved like $65ish. sold! tom had a truck & a dolly. i could have it the next day, sunday! tom said the guys were very helpful at the warehouse. he brought it home, installed it, & i was doing a load of dishes before dinner! the merchandise is top notch, quality. the people are helpful. they have a few locations, but we like the store up in upper st. clair. read more

IS A FAIL - hot & cold levels of professionalism and skills displayed across the board. Sales is very competent about appliance specs, but then clearly misled me about Don's installation crew skills and preparedness; but that's what makes the sale transaction occur and the money flow. Installation crews displayed 2 skilled technicians out of 9 technicians, across 4 visits, across 4 days; that's 22% prepared, technically skilled and/or professionally trained to perform the work required to install appliances. And I still had to hire an outside technician to do what I was told that Don's services does. I highly advise go elsewhere. read more

Do not buy from this place. They are unable to service you after the sale due to being booked out for weeks and out of stock on parts. Fridge that cost $2771 failed within 11 months of owning. Instead of replacing the gasket that was not operating correctly, they reattached it only to have it fail again 8 months later. The person who serviced it said that if it failed again, they would replace it at that time without charge and of course, when it failed and I called, the promise was not honored without collecting $170 upfront to schedule the trip. Cost of all parts would also be required. The parts they didn't have in stock and were on backorder and not available for 4-6 weeks and would cost an additional $150. My freezer is completely frosted over, the upper drawer is stuck shut and all food is being freezer burned and I was being told it would likely be at least 2 months before it could be corrected!? I felt I had no choice but to agree to accept their terms and I scheduled the repair. Fortunately, I googled an alternate appliance repair place and they had the parts in stock and I was able to schedule them to come out and take care of it within 7 days all at a cost of less than half. read more

I was very displeased with the customer service I received. I purchased a dryer with delivery and installation. On my first use I discovered that the door opened the wrong way. Don's would not rectify this as a curtesy. I was never asked which way I wanted the door to open. I was first told that the charge to change the door would be $90, when I complained they dropped the charge to $40. The delivery people who installed the dryer should have reversed the door. I will go back to Dormont appliance next time. read more

My first and last experience with Don's Appliances. Never again. Last week, I arranged to buy a panel-ready KitchenAid dishwasher, delivered and installed. They never called me to give me the delivery window; I had to call and pester them. When it arrived yesterday, the tub was dented and the door was so warped that it would not take my panel. The delivery guy is nice, but can't guarantee it will even work. So we have to refuse delivery. After a lengthy email runaround with the salesman, I learn that they *might* get that model in stock 11 days from now. But if they do, they now tell me that same exact model will cost me almost $200 more because, as they now say, the other one was on sale because it was out of the box. No one ever told me it was damaged when I agreed to buy it. I guess that's what "out of the box" means at Don's Appliances. It seems to me that, if you've taken half a vacation day off of work to wait at home for a dishwasher that turns out to be broken, and you'll have to wait two more weeks to have an intact one installed, the least the company can do is give it to you at the same price as the one you bought from them over the phone. Not at Don's Appliances. Now that I look, the exact same dishwasher is available for the same price at Home Depot, in the store now, with free delivery. read more

When my old dishwasher crapped out, I searched online for one with great ratings in my price range. I found the one I liked best and then called Don's, because I like to keep my money local when I can. I was lucky enough to get Jeff Flecker on the other end of the phone. He looked up the model I was asking about, and informed me that it was a previous year's model and no longer available, and provided me info about the updated model from that mfg. I am leery about buying something new to the market and hesitated. At that point, he asked, "Tell me what your needs are." I did, and he said I had made a great pick. I pressed him for other suggestions and he agreed to think about it and send me anything else that fit my needs and budget. At no time did he try to hard sell or up-sell me. It was, I think, one of the most positive conversations I have had with a sales person. Jeff sent me the specs on the new-model we initially spoke about and sent me specs for two additional ones. The last was was a higher end model that normally would have been way above my price range. But it was on special, and ended up only costing $62 more than my budget. I stopped by the store to look at it, and was concerned about what would fit. He actually let me empty my big water bottle, try it in the machine for fit and gave me cold water to refill it with. He was patient as I talked through my thoughts, answered every question, gave us a few minutes alone to make a decision. The machine had everything I wanted, and after several weeks of using it, it has delivered everything Jeff promised. It washed great, dries great. I would have never considered this model were it not for Jeff's guidance. Working with Jeff made what was a stressful experience far less so. I felt listened to and respected. We thought we'd get good service since we bought Jenn-Air appliances from an independent retailer instead of a big box store but it ends up that their service and delivery people are both awful. First the delivery guys wanted to leave the appliances in the street outside our townhouse. We had to call the store to convince them to bring them inside!!!! Then we had to call a plumber to get the water dispenser on the fridge to function properly. Save your money and buy elsewhere. read more

Purchased a refrigerator from Don's seven years ago, and was pleased with the price, delivery and set-up. However, when it recently required service, the parts kit cost $80 and 15 minutes of labor cost $185, plus tax. A total of $271 to remove three screws, swap out the part and replace the screws! He didn't even have to move the fridge. Don't call Don's for service! read more

Don's was fantastic. The service was wonderful. Samantha at Don's in Canonsburg was so helpful. She answered all of my questions. She listened to what I wanted and didn't try to oversell at all. Everyone I spoke with at Don's knew a lot about the products. I asked Samantha a million questions and she always answered my emails right away. I felt like I was getting expert advice, much more that I would have gotten at a big box store, but the prices were the same. She even found rebates for me. My wife and I were in the market for some appliances for our new house and a friend recommended checking out Don's Appliance near South Hills Village. Let me say that I am more than happy I took his advice. Buying appliances is a big deal and when compared with other stores in the area, Don's was far and away the best experience. Not only was the entire staff very knowledgeable, but Jase, who helped my wife and I, was honest and extremely helpful - he genuinely wanted to set us up with a washer and dryer that was perfect for us. Not only was the service phenomenal, but the value was better than anywhere else we visited. Specifically, the extended warranty offered through Don's is the best deal going - from shopping around, I can say that no other appliance store has anything close to it. Not only did we get a washer and dryer at a great price, but we have the peace of mind of knowing that if anything happens, Don's will take care of it. Stopped by to check out microwave prices and model with no real intention of buying at the time. Upon talking to Jason Garrity about our "situation" surrounding our current microwave, he was very helpful in guiding us to a solution that involved the purchase of a new microwave at a very competitive price. Our current microwave was very old, and is a special size that is no longer being produced. This brought up some other installation concerns that needed to be factored into our final decision. read more

The only reason I am giving it 1 star is because it won't allow it to give me ZERO. Called and made an appointment for them to come and repair a plastic water line that cracked. Tech came out and said he can't do it because he doesn't carry any plastic water line. yet they are still going to charge me for him coming out. He then took my check and left. I called to ask why I wasn't told it would take 2 trips and the rep said THATS OUR POLICY. She then tried changing her story 3 times. I then simply asked why you didn't tell me about that so I could of bought the line ahead of time for him to have when he got there. She again said that's our policy... So their policy is to not give you any info and to charge you without any work being done. Also filling out a better business complaint and will never use them again read more

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer and love it. I bought an extended warranty and the dryer broke they said it would take a week before the service tech could be there, they called and said the tech finished early so he could be here the same day great. He found the problem and ordered the part. Then he said we would make an appointment the earliest they had was a week from Wednesday that's 9 days to get the part and install it. That's entirely to long I will by my appliances else where. Maybe Dons should get out of the service work if they cant do it read more

He answered all of our questions and gave us a quote on the appliances before we left...we returned in 2 days and made our purchase. A few years ago I bought a stove and microwave from Don's. Everything went great. This year I needed a refrigerator. For some reason i went to Sears and ordered there. That was a terrible experience and I ended up telling Sears to pick up the refrigerator as I no longer wanted it. After that I never felt more positive as I felt about going to Don's. I should have gone there in the first place. They were very helpful at the store. The prices were well within the range that I found every where else and the refrigerator I originally wanted was a great price. A special shout out goes to the delivery guys. My home is older with narrow passages. They worked as hard as I've seen delivery guys work and got everything into place and running. They were professional and pleasant at all times. I strongly recommend Don's on Highland Ave in Bethel Park. I'll never go any where else again. read more

Unfortunately they do not stand behind their products! Approx. 9 yrs ago we purchased a DCS 5 burner professional gas range. Don's no longer sells NOR will repair this product...when I contacted their service department on 6/27/17 I was told that it was "junk" and rudely informed that he could not get parts for it and that from what I described it was the board (keep in mind there is NO board in this product) pretty much tough luck! After calling Appliance Service Center they had me back in business in 15 minutes by resetting a limit switch! Will be doing my future business elsewhere! read more

We purchased all of our appliances from Don's for the kitchen in our new house. Our sales person, Zack Culley, was wonderful to work with. He took the time to understood our wants and needs, was very knowledgeable, and easy to work with through the entire process. We communicated by phone or email quite often about specifications for our products during construction to make sure everything was set up correctly for installation, which was very helpful as some of the requirements for the brand of products we purchased were different from other brands. He also communicated directly with our contractor on certain requirements when necessary. The installation crew (Bill and Dan, as well as Tyler and Joe during delivery) did a wonderful job, were equally great to work with, and everything looks fantastic. We definitely feel we made the right decision purchasing from Don's. While we hope our appliances don't need servicing any time soon, we will post another review of Don's service quality if we ever need it. We will also post a review of the products we purchased on the brand's website once we get moved in and start using them regularly. read more
