My review of Joan, Store Manager, Irving TX Best Buy I've been a loyal Best Buy customer, spending over $10,000 in the last month alone, but my experience with Joan, the store manager at the Irving, TX location, has completely turned me away from the company. When I tried to return a defective receiver that was just two days outside of the return policy, Joan was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I simply expected some flexibility and respect given my long-standing business with Best Buy. Instead, I was treated like my loyalty meant nothing. What makes it even worse is that if I had purchased this item from Amazon, I would've been well within their return policy. I specifically chose to shop at Best Buy instead of Amazon (even though the price was the same) because I wanted to support a brick-and-mortar business. Clearly, that loyalty was a mistake. Moving forward, I'll be doing all my shopping with Amazon, where customer service is consistent, and policies are more customer-friendly. It's unacceptable for a company like Best Buy to treat a high-spending customer this way, and I can't recommend this location--or the company--anymore. Went in for a simple request to have my keyboard blown out for dust. Before I could not even explain, the rep asked if I had a warranty. When I said no, the conversation basically ended there. As someone who works in IT, it was frustrating that a basic request couldn't be addressed without trying to sell me something instead. read more

I purchased Microsoft Office Home 2024 from Best Buy. When I attempted to return it within the 14-day return period, the store declined my request. The receipt clearly states a 14-day return policy. Both the in-store customer service and online support advised me to contact Microsoft to cancel the product first, and then call Best Buy again for a refund. I am concerned that this process will result in unnecessary delays or another refusal to issue my refund. If Microsoft Office is considered non-returnable, this should have been clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. read more

I just purchased a new laptop and had a problem that took the customer service lady Ariela was able to help me resolve in five minutes. I just waited ALL DAY for Geek Squad to show up @ my house to check out a printer I just bought in the last few months & Geek Sqad NEVER SHOWED UP, NEVER CALLED REGARDING THEIR DELAY, NEVER NOTIFIED ME BY TEXT, NEVER NOTIFIED ME BY PHONE, they did not give me any notice, PERIOD, that they were not going to show up. I waited ALL DAY. They gave me a window of 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM that the Geek Squad tech would arrive. During the day they narrowed it down to 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM. But that was it! They NEVER SHOWRD UP. I sent Best Buy the following message a short time ago: Why didn't anyone show up for the appointment you guys set for yesterday? I literally waited ALL DAY! Yesterday's appointment was made by Geek Squad SEVERAL days ago. No one called or texted me to tell me you were NOT going to show up. Your actions or lack of actions is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, & NOT ACCEPTABLE. Best Buy should not be selling Geek Squad memberships if Best Buy & Geek Squad cannot fulfill the promises, obligations & services that make up the Geek Squad membership. We asked for help twice for tv assistance and waited 30 minutes. The employees kept saying they would send someone, no one came. We went up to the register just to pay for the tv. This is the second Best Buy location I just come out angry at the rude staff. They act entitled, are not helpful, are rude in getting in your way or stocking items. Not even Walmart or the dollar tree. This company needs to go out of business I feel bad bc it's one of the last places that specializes in tech but the customer service is horrible. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED with this location. The customer service here makes me never want to shop at Best Buy again. After 20 minutes in the store and even walking up to employees, no one offered any help. When I finally got the product I came for and made it to the register, the employee walked away 3 separate times in the middle of the transaction. He even walked away after I paid without giving me a receipt or the item I purchased. I usually recommend going to Best Buy, but if this location is your only option, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! Free delivery was set up (I guess this is the promo in store because I attempted to purchase online but was getting a $49 delivery fee per item, no thank you!). Christian (short one, because there is two of them) was my sales rep in the computer area. He was helpful and patient when it came to my indecisiveness. I purchased the wrong MacBook and didn't realize it until I arrived at home. He helped me with my exchange and the fraud department (account flagged due to suspicious activity). Thanks y'all! Unfortunately this Best Buy does not honor its timeline commitments for delivery and installation. Twice they rescheduled after we made plans to be home for a delivery. Customer service offered absolutely nothing in return for their complete failure other than a "promise" to be true to our next appointment. Suggestion from a very sad customer: DO NOT DO DISPLAY SCREEN REPLACEMENT HERE! Because Jarret and his fellow technicians will likely to return you a phone with an unavailable Face ID! This is exactly what happened to me. And especially when your phone is purchased outside of the states, they cannot do anything about it but sending you back to Apple. Bought a new TV December 31st, it was supposed to be delivered today January 5th between 7am-1Pm. At 3:30pm I had to call and ask what was going on. Apparently the delivery truck broke down that morning or earlier afternoon, and when they tried to call Best Buy to let them know. No one would answer(hmmm, that's weird) so they just left a message. Now, I understand things happen. I'm not mad the guys truck broke down. I'm mad that there was absolutely no consideration for the customer. Not by the delivery driver or by Best Buy. I took the day off and now have to plan another day off. And all I got was "This is our fault, I apologize, and understand your frustration." She sounded like a robot. And now I have to wait till the 10th! I'm thankful I don't need the TV right now. But could you imagine if it was something really needed? Like a fridge, washer or dryer, or a dishwasher. This store is going down the tubes. Not that I'm comparing it to a Magnolia Best Buy store, it just seems old and spaced out ...it needs more upgrades. People are spending a lot of money on computers, phones, electronics and appliances. All I needed was a USB charger for my iPad, simple. Walked in, was directed to the section ...picked up the charger ...walked to the register to check out and the customer service when out the door. As I was checking out at the register closest to the door, the young lady at the register next to the one I'm at started talking to the customer service guy at the door. Then the young lady checking me out, join their personal conversation (as if she wasn't checking me out) and all three of them talked about who liked who better than the other person. This went on the entire time she was checking out. She stopped once to get my phone number and to hand me my receipt. It's the managers responsibility to make sure their staff is trained on customer service and the do's and dont's in front of the customer. read more

Then they messed up on getting my refund to me. I've been dealing with several online agents, phone reps, and even went up to the store. This started on 12/10/22 and it is now 01/07/23. The worst customer experience I have ever had. First their items are not even in the right places so I purchased an item and was charged more than the price was listed. Then I go back in and no one at the cash register can do a return so I had to go to customer service. Customer service had a short line but it took that person 20 minutes to get through one person. I came to this BestBuy to get a new charging cable for my iPhone. The employees seem to intentionally avoid customers. I asked one employee where the charging cables were located ? He pointed to an isle and said they are over there and walked off. I asked for help from another male employee and he did the same thing. I asked him if he could show me and he pointed across the store and said they were by the neon sign. Instead of taking 10 extra seconds to walk over where they where to show me, he elected to point and say they are over there. I finally found them. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Would definitely recommend this store and asking for him if shopping for a tv! Ok, This place sucks, I am not going to come to this place if I can at all help it. The stupid little kid running the customer service counter was rude and had lots of attitude. Second, forget getting a person to explain their policy. I tried to do a price match with Alrington Fry's and they would only call the Irving location and said that Arlington is not local (keep in mind the Arlington location is maybe 10-15minutes away. They do not define what local is they pull it out of the butt. I am offically done with this place if I go there it is to shop and get a price match, nothing else. Based on the reviews I chose not to visit this Best Buy because I didn't want to be subjected to a horrible experience. But lo and behold, the Best Buy that I initially visited didn't have the phone I wanted but this store did. I walked over to the mobile department and wasn't greeted or anything for close to 3 minutes. Awkward. Finally an associate came by. He asked how he could help and I told him that I had a phone on hold for me. Then he proceeded to ask me questions about what kind of phone it was, blah blah blah. I simply told him that it was on hold for me and the person on the phone told the employee I was working with at the other location that it was being held. So why should I answer questions? He walked over to the phone case and my phone that was being held was right in front. Go figure. Sometimes the customer is actually right. He asked if I was upgrading or purchasing the phone. I said that I wasn't upgrading, which was true. Then he takes me over to cash out and when the total says $1000, I told him that I was getting a 2 year payment plan (as carriers are getting rid of contracts and no longer subsidizing phones). He had to void the transaction and actually listen to me. What a great idea. I may actually know what I'm talking about. After this, the transaction went pretty smoothly. I initially felt like he was rude but I think that he just doesn't know how to make small talk and make people feel welcome. Once I started making small talk, he opened up and everything went great after that. I walked out with a brand new iPhone 6 Plus and a nice case. While I wouldn't go out of my way to this Best Buy, I would drop by if they had what I was looking for and no other store in the Metroplex did. ETA: I was told that my old iPhone just needed to be dropped off at FedEx and it really needed to be dropped off at the Post Office. Needless to say, I almost got in a pickle with Verizon and was nearly charged $299 due to the misinformation received at this store. Grrrrr. read more

Interesting that Best Buy no longer accepts reviews on their website for Geek Squad really? They must know how bad they suck! I pay for total reward support & yet still have to pay additional funds for in home service yet still nothing works! They came to my home 2/11/21 to install my sound bar that I got for Christmas that's how long I had to wait! Installed yes, working properly NO!!! Sound constantly fades in & out! Drives me crazy! An additonal charge of $50 for that! They were also supposed to hook up my printer to my new Spectrum modem/router/WiFi don't even get me started on Spectrum! Another additonal $50 for a total of $108.00 Neither work! Printer not connected & Soundbar not working properly! Tech gave me his card & his reponse for soundbar try checking your software updates. Daniel at the computer/lap top section was a terrible example of what a good employee is. I was walking around looking for a charger went up and he and a co worker were sitting there talking. Daniel told the guy to get a charger then proceeded to give .01% effort in actually helping or caring about helping. I had to go and find the stuff my self when he told me they didn't have it I looked and found exactly what I needed. He sat there on his phone not giving a darn about his job. I agree with many of the posters here; it's mainly young dumb kids working here. Listening to their chatter behind the counter will annoy anyone over 27. I won a TV in a charity auction. It came with a gift receipt. I tried to return it and get a gift card instead (or, hopefully, an iphone 6) but to no avail. I was past the "15 day" return policy and, the TV had been opened. I didn't open it, but it was apparent that it had been opened in the past and re-taped. Their was a label on it which was clearly broken, so they wouldn't take it back. I was mad about that. I didn't open it. I had the receipt. 15 day policy or no they should have taken it. I was as nice as possible, even spoke with the manager, but they wouldn't budge. Since I can't return it, I'm going to donate the TV this Christmas to a family in need. But screw you Best Buy. A simple return gone wrong has earned you yet another 1 star review on Yelp, and you've lost another customer for life. THIS is why I buy everything on Amazon. read more

I take it in and I'm told that the warranty doesn't cover the drivers. So after 6 hours I pick up my laptop and SUPRISE! I've got a virus. Wasn't there when I took it in. I purchased an HP laptop and an LG television on 8/17/13 . . . The sales associate seemed friendly and knowledgeable ( Igor ) and it seemed like smooth sailing. Today is 9/10/2013 and the plastic CD drawer cover came off the metal slide. I bundled up the laptop and took it over to this Best Buy to see what options were available to me for a repair under the HP warranty. A better retail chain would have apologized for the inconvenience, advised me that they do not make warranty repairs, and given me the information needed to contact HP to make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. These people were rude, unapologetic and completely lacking in the most basic customer service skills. From the moment I walked into the store with my laptop and receipt, until the time that I left, it was all clenched asses and locked arms as they spent more energy on CYA than they did on keeping a long time customer happy. Do you people even remember Circuit City? They didn't fail because of ill timed expansion or too much inventory. They failed because people with money to spend simply refused to shop there. Best Buy is off my retail list. I won't be back. If I could have given less than 1 star, it would have better reflected my overall experience with this Best Buy location. read more

I went in searching for a Bluetooth headphones and your associate Abdurrahman Smith was extremely helpful and knowledgable plus just pleasant to be around. He exuded positivity. He actually brought a huge smile to my face even though I was having a horrible day. I wish my experience with every retailer could be this pleasant but unfortunately it isn't.
