Online Pickup Review I was buying a gift for a family member from a direct website other than Best Buy and the gift was 80 bucks but the shipping was 20 bucks with delivery in 1-4 days. Say What! But wait, there's an option to pickup at bestbuy at no cost, an available today. Boom done deal. No more than 20 minutes later I received my text to come pickup and upon arrival I was greeted and went to the pickup area. The 2 ladies at the counter finished their conversation an apparently someone failed to boot up the computer, No biggie a few minutes later I was on my way feeling like I saved a little money to start the day. Should have read the reviews and it probably would have saved me a trip! I came to this store in efforts of purchasing a sound system. Waited in the store over 15 minutes with no help. Walked in, wasn't greeted by the guy in the front distracted by his electronic. Two associates in customer service were helping another gentlemen , finally acknowledged me after 5. Finally grabbed a lady checking out guests at the counter and asked if they carried a product. She mentioned they should and she would have someone meet me in the area. No one ever came . As I'm walking out I mentioned to another gentleman how today was not a good experience as he was too on his electronic device , and he replied "sorry about that mam". I came in to purchase a Tesla EV charger, knowing exactly what I wanted -- what should've been a 5-minute visit turned into a frustrating 30-minute ordeal. When I walked in, I was greeted and pointed toward the chargers, then told someone would come help me. I waited about 10 minutes with no assistance, even though customers who came in after me were helped. I asked another associate to send someone over -- waited another 10 minutes, still nothing. Finally, I had to approach someone and sternly ask for help before anyone actually assisted me. On top of that, when checking out, I declined to provide a phone number or email because I didn't want marketing messages, and was told I couldn't complete the purchase without creating an account -- which was also frustrating. Overall, the lack of attentiveness and poor customer service made what should've been a simple, quick purchase unnecessarily stressful. I ordered a camera from BB. The day after I ordered the camera, BB apparently delivered it to the USPS. USPS is a joke. USPS loses more stuff than they deliver. BB then gives me a choice because they tell me the camera I ordered was out of stock, a refund or buy a more expensive camera. Nice try, BB. This was complicated by the fact that the several sorta customer service people with whom I spoke were in Bangladesh and Guadalajara. I thought they had all moved to the US where US taxpayers who must be vaccinated are paying for their everything while they are not required to be vaccinated. Bought an overpriced iPad screen protector for $25. Amazon has the same product with 3 sheets for $14.95.... But I wanted them to put the sheet on so I bought one at Best Buy. I asked the associate to put the screen on my iPad and the the Geek Squad wanted to charge me $9. Then I asked the iphone associates who were not busy to please put the protector on since I just spent $25 and they wanted to charge me $14! Why in the world would they start charging that amount of money to paste on a screen protector!!??! I will never buy from this store giant again. It's overpriced and they basically charge you for walking in the front door these days. Shop around and stop paying for big corporations to get richer. I'm done. I have a love hate relationship with all things tech support in general. I usually either fix my own computers, or buy a new one. I chose to make an exception this time and got reminded why I gave up. Enter Geek Squad. Went in and spoke with one of the techs telling them I have a blue screen but already tested the hardware and all of it is working fine. My issue was my OS wouldn't load and the system would not roll back, restore, or allow me to use a back up I loaded onto a spanking brand new flash drive so there was something going on in the bios. I let him know that they can diagnose it for me and if it can be rolled back, do so, but if they cannot and are just going to do a factory reinstall of my OS, I can just buy a fresh copy of Windows 10 on Pricewatch cheap and keep it moving. I was still told I had to pay up front. Day I got the first quote, $99.00. Day I dropped it off a diff tech quoted $149 =tax. Huh? Classic bait and switch or miscommunication with the techs. Either way, I was now committed and tired so I paid and left thinking they would just roll it back saving my data. Nope. Got the call I expected, but just hoped they would not make. Easy out for them is to just factory install no matter what. Heck, a novice can do that and not even try. What did the tech say they "had" to do? What I could have done days before if I just wanted to lose my data. Best Buy, you do not need techs for that easy out. Just be honest, tell people those techs are not real geeks and can't fix issues more complex than average users can. Would be like your car having a simple issue, but the mechanic just says, we have to replace the whole engine. Then you aren't a mechanic, but a parts dealer. Either hire geeks, that can fix issues without factory resetting, or be upfront that is the only fix they know. Heck, they probably went to the back and watched a Youtube video on how to do the re-installation of the OS. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to do that. Picked up my computer, asked that they not insult me pretending to explain how smart they are not figuring out my issue and saving my data, but just putting in a disc, reinstalling an OS, as if that required much smarts. Done with Best Buy. All future electronics purchases I make will either be online at Amazon, or at Wal Mart. Best Buy is where I will browse the product I want to have a hands on demo, but then I will sit in one of their comfy chairs, pop out my phone, and order the item from a competitor right in their store. Not good to lose thousands in future business, for crumbs. And they wonder why so many bricks and mortar stores are going belly up. My bad for knowing better, but allowing myself one more time to trust in-house service. Adios Best Buy. Your cell phone folks, awesome sauce, the folks doing stereo installs, awesome as well. In fact, everyone in the actual store aside from Geek squad, stellar folks. Wish I could give all of them 5 stars since it is not their fault one area of the store failed to consider some of us know a bit about computers, so when discussing a fix with us and we tell you what we need, provide it, or decline the service. Again, fellow Yelpers, I am well aware this too is just a first world issue and not the end of my or any world. I am fortunate to have disposable income with which to own junk for making my already comfy life spoiledish. I am not upset, angry, or in want of a refund. A smile is upon my mug as I write this. The woman helping me claimed that if my phone broke, I could easily come trade it in for a new one with the "warranty" in a matter of seconds. We purchased a tv online and attempted several times to have it delivered. When we showed up at curbside pickup to maybe be see if we can swing it fitting in the SUV we were redirected to wait in line because it would not fit. The associate recommended we could have it delivered even though we explained that this route was already attempted. After explaining the issues the associate assured us that customer service would help us and that it may be a glitch with the website with no being able to deliver. Fast forward we waited in line to only be told it could not be delivered and the TV we already had purchased was sold out. How does that even make sense? Don't buy anything from Best Buy, the sales people lie to your face and make false statements. We ordered a 65" TV was promised it would deliver after five in 2 days then the following day received an email saying it would be between 11 and 3 the following day. Then they show up at 10 and call, my daughter is a 30 min drive from her house and they wouldn't wait. Called them again and was told they would reattempt between 3 and 4 my daughter took off work and they no showed her. When we called they wanted us to wait another 2 days to receive our paid for TV which is unacceptable. We will be escalating this issue to the corporate and are getting our money back. This is a review of the Mobile Installation area of the Hurst Best Buy. I needed a new backup camera installed on my F250 and didn't want to tackle the job myself. I decided to use the Geek Squad for the install. I've had good results with them in the past. I arrived on time for my appointment and was greeted my Jerrod. He was very professional and got right to work on the install after talking to me about my questions and placement of the monitor in the cab. The install, in my opinion, was done very quickly and professionally. His work area was neat and I watched him clean up as I was driving away. Being a former retailer, i prefer to shop local over being online and so buy regularly here. I tried to return 3 unopened cable items totaling $60 and they were at least a month outside the return period. Slow day so thought we could discuss. I miss the days when we would look at someone's purchase/return history at try and appreciate our good clients. I had also planned to pick up a video game and new refrigerator. I was mad that the MOD was so inflexible on the return. But, saw the fridge was actually a few dollars cheaper at Home Depot so will buy there instead. Not a fan of Best Buy anymore I was in the past. This is my new problem with the store. I went to look at a TV Best Buy had in the Sunday advertisement. No one in the TV department had a clue about the TV that was for sale. I spoke with 4 different people and not one knew about the TV. One went up front to get a paper ad. But he never came back. Another one wanted to show me a different TV. And the other 2 showed us a smaller TV. They think was the same. Not very good service. If Best Buy wants my business ever again they need to improve. Start with the employee's learning what is in the advertisements. And where product in the paper is located in the store. And know what product is being advertised. read more

I brought my 1 year old Dell desktop into Geek Squad and purchased their 1 year service plan to repair slow wireless internet speed. I have 1000 mbps coming into my home, but my computer would only get 25-35 mbps up/download. They called 24 hours later letting me know my computer was repaired. However, when I arrived they had the computer hard wired. When I asked them to show me the wireless speeds, the computer the speed was 6-10 mbps. Rather than address the problem, the staff told me the store internet speed is slow. My iPhone was receiving 200-250 mbps. When I shared this with them, they told me desktops are only designed for wired internet. I am very disappointed with Geek Squads skill level, but more disturbed by their attempted deception and lack of accountability. read more

I'll be back to this Best Buy the next time I'm near the mall. I really enjoyed the Magnolia Home Theater team member, although I didnt get her name. She repeatedly told me she didnt work off commission, so I was really glad she just wanted to help. She offered an in-home service that would have someone from Best Buy to come out and give us ideas on what we could do with our home. That's pretty cool and I think we'll do that soon, just not ready to set that up today. We also went to the Apple area, which I was surprised there was no one available to help. We couldnt get the iPad pencil to work so we played around with it for a minute then just gave up. They're sold out of the Vizio we wanted but had one open-box. It was graded Excellent (highest option) and only $30 less than brand new. Both indicators that it should be a safe purchase. Get to the store and check in for curbside pickup. After waiting in the parking lot for FORTY MINUTES (we went to ask after 20min and the girl said she was just about to grab it; needed someone tall to come help), guy comes out to tell us there's white scratches on the screen and it doesn't even have a box and it was the floor model (meaning it was on 24/7 for weeks) and to ask if we still want it. Obviously not. Said we'd have to come in and stand in line to process the return. Confused as to: -why it was labeled and priced as it was -why would you let someone wait for FORTY minutes outside before coming to talk to them -why when you brought them in to return it did you still make them stand in the regular line and not take care of them on the side right away -why did you not offer to help them pick out another TV (we had a 2nd and 3rd option lined up but were too annoyed to bring it up)..oh yes, because the store was now closed and you couldn't be bothered read more
