Counting my blessings this morning. My expensive graphics laptop stopped connecting to the internet yesterday and I was concerned about the costs of fixing this. Went in to the Ancaster Best Buy to see The Geek Squad and met Amrak who is absolutely amazing. He was able to determine the issue quickly and got me back up and running!! Woohoo!! The once powerful American owned juggernaut that went out of its way to put out of business as many local, independent owned electronics stores as it could is now facing the same fate. Now all you get when you walk into a Best Buy is the smell of death. Poorly stocked. Barren accessories hooks. Staff looking at their phones. The store is run by kids. Product knowledge is non-existent. This location didn't even have stock on basic audio cables and had even less of an idea on when they might be coming in. Worst mistake for ever buying anything at the Ancaster @BestBuyCanada @BestBuy store. I purchased a package deal for a new TV which included delivery, installation and some other things. Not only did the staff ignore my calls but after promising to contact me the next day Eric totally blew me off. After a few days of calling and leaving messages every day I spoke with Dan the manager. After dealing and trusting him I felt better as he had set everything up. Well low and behold, the day came for delivery. @GeekSquadCanada showed up which got us all excited; unfortunately they didn't have the TV. After speaking with Reese all he could do is pass the buck and say trust him. He also told me that if I wanted a refund I would have to go all the way back to the store to do it. This will be the last time I ever deal with this store as they are both incompetent and untrustworthy. Having been in the "SERVICE" industry for most of my life, all I can say is that this is not an example of any kind of Customer Service. I can only hope that Mitchell, the floor supervisor at Best Buy Head Office is able to do something to help me rectify this. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Getting a refund is a joke with their protection plan. First their system is the least user friendly thing to use and second when you call them their customer support reps only know how to follow their system which doesn't work. read more

In store it is not to bad. My issue for this post is that they never seem to be able to pick up the phone. There is no reason a customer should have to call 5 times over 2 days, and not once did anyone pick up. Was trying to put an item on hold for pickup, but again not once did anyone pick up. Looking for a specific type of security camera -- I've seen plenty on line as well as in other stores but wanted to check out best buy. IP, wireless, SD card and without a DVR or cloud based storage. I was firm on this! The employees tried to sell me everything except that (they do not carry it) and when I said no, cloud based is not what I want kept on trying and actually told me that what I wanted didn't exist. I said well yes, I've seen it in other stores and online and he challenged me with the brand and cost -- not out of curiosity, but to disprove. Maybe they are on a commission to sell a specific brand but they went too far. read more

Horrible service. I called to discuss what I had just purchased - it did not work - and was told VERY rudely that if I wanted to discuss anything I'd have to pay The Geek Squad. So no idea if the product was bad, if I needed something else and/or hooked it up improperly - I was not allowed to ask. I had to pay for that service. So not only did I package up and return those items, a computer I had just bought (still in the box) is going back as well. Not impressed at all. horrible service. My daughter and I were waiting twenty minutes, one guy talked, the other guy did something, my daughter went and ask for a help, he said "just a second", then two of them disappear after. I asked the other guy from different department to look for computer sale rep, he came back and talked to me they were busy, service is not available. That is their answer. I went to customer service to complain, it looked like they could not do anything. My daughter and I left, we did not buy anything. Ancaster best buy is worse. read more
