Took to WI to have a look and it turned out there was some corrosion on the contacts (due to the fact that the screen had lifted and I had just taped it down and then got lazy when it eventually wore off the tape.... hence letting the moisture in... ugh.). the Screen was fixed the same day! Anyway, after that, the next day I discovered that the microphone wasn't working - that was quickly diagnosed and repaired (no charge) and then when the keyboard wasn't working (the following day), that too was repaired promptly and without charge. The guys are positive, honest and stand behind their work. No blaming. The only advice I would offer, is to ensure that a complete function check is done before the phone leaves the shop,.. But I can't be hard on them for this, because I saw many people (phone addicts) lining up to get their phones fixed and like addicts of any kind, the customers want their phones back FAST!

He gave me a detailed report on what happened to my hard drive, how he will retrieve it, where he will get the parts, how long it will take, and the estimate of how much it will cost me. Although the quote is still high for me (because I am starting out in my career and this is not something that I normally deal with), the final quote is still lower compared to other data recovery shops. He gave me updates on the status of my data recovery and there were no hidden fees that got added on my final price. Overall, Gordon is professional and great at what he does. These guys are awesome!…read more They can help you in your time of need and NOT charge you an arm or a leg for the data recovery if they don't have to. They were very honest and up front as to what to expect when what my damaged HD would require and what you might expect if you took it to one of the competitors who might be offering a "cowboy" job. If your data is precious and your backup strategy inadequate, these are the guys to take your non-responsive hard drive to when you have to re-claim your data. The clean-room is a bit sketchy (no double door, no gasket around the door, etc.) but they have the tools to diagnose your problem and determine the best course of action and they know their limits when they have to broker the job to a uber-high-end facility. Sadly, since my backup strategy now includes mirrored RAIDs and offsite backups, I'll no longer need a place like this, unless my computer dies AND my RAID dies AND my offsite backup gets eaten, or stolen or abducted by aliens. ****** Edit 2010-11-25 I decided to bite the bullet and give them my drive to send to the uber facility for recovery. Ballpark quote was verbally given as "flat $2000-2500 + tax". Once it gets recovered, I'll post another edit.

So the next day I rushed in 1 hr before he closed. He had 2 other phone to work on and we gave him my wife's old iPhone 6+ to replace the battery for $60. He told me my phone will be $25 for a cleaning and if that doesn't work $70 to replace the SIM card port. I foolishly told him I would bring it back in 2 days. We then went to wait in the mall while my wife's battery was being replace. I check a repair shop there and they carelessly ripped open my phone and told me $225 to fix my phone and then went to another stupid used iPhone sales and repair shop in the mall and they told me my phone was destroyed and it would cost $519 to replace it. Obviously I didn't choose any of those options. Johnny called us back 30 min later letting us know my wife's phone was finished. We went there and I told him I wanted him to fix my XR after all. He opened it up very very carefully and showed me exactly what the problems were. He showed me where the water inside can be seen. He stayed after store hours with me and fixed it in 15 minutes. He ended up charging me only $25 for the cleaning and my phone works as good as new. I offered a $5 tip but he refused and simply asked for a good review. I gladly agreed!! Everything was done quickly, cleanly and the prices were reasonable. Explanations of everything to be done were given before anything was agreed to. The whole process was speedy and painless, and the proprietor was cheerful and helpful.

I got a doubt about the issue on the PS5 and I told him about it (I was scared I would be paying a lot as I was expecting something bad!), he assured me it was nothing serious (only the disk reader) and I ended up paying much less than expected. The phones had cracked screens and the laptop was not turning on and it turned out the battery was the problem. They are reasonably priced and conveniently located. I can't recommend them enough.
