I come here routinely for safety and emissions inspection. Chang (the owner) and his mechanics do a fine job and usually turn vehicles around while I wait, as long as I call ahead. Had a wonderful experience here and I was in and out within no more than 2 hours. I showed up around 4:30pm and asked about getting a state/emissions inspection, and and oil change. Joon at the front desk was very helpful and friendly and advised that my car would be ready by either 6pm that same day, or the very next morning. It was ready within an hour. I was very impressed with the customer service and I was also given recommendations for future service. I recommend this location and I will return. read more

I am so grateful to Best Auto Care for being an honest shop that took care of us when our Jeep overheated on the way from NJ to NC. We limped off the road and Best Auto Care happened to be at that exit. They took the car in, diagnosed the problem, ordered and replaced the thermostat and did it all within an hour and at a fair price. This was especially kind because I was driving my 90 yr old mother with us to NC. They were gracious and made sure they had fixed the problem before sending us on our way. I have been their customer since 2006 and continue to be very pleased with the service that they provide. My husband found them because one of our cars broke down at my son's in-home daycare nearby. He picked this place because they were the nearest mechanic. It was late in the day and they were getting ready to close so he explained to them what happened with the car and the location of the car. Since we didn't have the choice to shop around, we were expecting at least a low 4-figure in term of the cost as that was cost is to fix some issues at the dealer mechanic. We picked up the car a couple of days later and they replaced the alternator and the battery. The price that they charged was in the mid 3-figure! In the moment of desperation, they could have made a whole lot of money from us, but they chose not to. As I mentioned in my previous review, I bought a service plan and additional insurance for one of cars that I bought. I learned that it was not necessary and it was a waste of money. After we got rid of the car above because it got to the point that it was costing a lot to maintain than the actual value of the car, we did not buy any service plan or additional insurance for the car that replaced it. Instead, we rely on Best Auto Care to take care of regular maintenance as well as the state safety inspection and emission testing. I find that the best time to bring the car in for routine maintenance is early in the morning before they get busy. For any issue more than that, it will take time to fix it and you might have to leave the car overnight because there are other people with car problems too. read more

Definitely, FULL OF SHYT. I took my car there for the diagnostic on May 22nd and was told I needed $700+ worth of work to fix my Check engine light. On May 27th I Reset my own OBD System by disconnecting battery for 25 minutes repositioned my gas cap and reattached my battery drove 87 miles to reset my OBD to Normal status and guess what NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND I PASSED EMISSIONS. THANKS FOR THE EXCELLENT DIAGNOSTIC WORK AT A COST 0F $85 FOR TELLING ME I NEED TO GIVE THEM AN ADDITIONAL $700 OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY... Definitely a rip off shop. read more

Find another mechanic. Do not take your car here especially if you live out of town. I had my car serviced on 12/8/18 when I noticed my car shaking while driving into town to visit family. They replaced by CV joint/front driver axel and rear struts. I noticed that my gas pedal and driver seat was still shaking at higher speeds after the repairs. I took it to my trusted, local mechanic where I was informed that the parts used by Best Auto Care were shoddy. On 1/2 (less than 1 month later), my mechanic at Konard Automotive in Durham, North Carolina informed me that my car was still shaking because the axel piece that Best Auto Care used was bad and needed to be replaced. My mechanic also informed me that struts that Best Auto Care used were leaking and needed to be replaced. My mechanic nicely agreed to contact Best Auto Care to inform them about the parts they used and provided pictures of the concerns from one mechanic to another. In addition, I spoke to the store manager regarding my concerns assuming that they would want to rectify the work performed. They were unwilling to work with my mechanic to discuss the problem and find a resolution. They were unwilling to use the photos and my mechanics expert assessment as a valid inspection of the car. I was informed by the store manager that they were unable to resolve the problem until they were able to inspect the car in person even with the evidenced presented to them. They were dogmatic about this stipulation and unwilling to resolve it any other way. I would assume that a company that is concerned about their customers and wants to be known as a reputable business in the community would want to resolve the problem. Instead, I was met with resistance and unwillingness to fix their mistake and incompetence. Again, go somewhere else. Find someone that cares about you as a customer and wants your return business. read more

Best Auto Care is the most honest, respectable auto service I have ever used. My vehicles are always fixed properly and at a reasonable cost. The rare occasion. I have had to seek a warranty repair it has been no hassle at all. While they specialize in Japanese cars I have taken my BMW here with excellent results. I have GM maint plan with a 50$ deductible. GM advised me I was overcharged based on the standard (he charged an hour and a half for an hour job). I identified the issue to the mngr he decided not to allow me to pay and leave until he received $ from GM (he had an authorization for payment from GM). After 2 hours I called the cops! The mngr was basically creating a repercussion (keeping my car hostage) for voicing a complaint, the officer agreed. The cop talked with the mngr and he "realized" that the GM ppwk had been received. loyal customer lost. The old saying is correct "it is tough to find a good mechanic" in this case I'd settle for an honest one.... read more

Brought my car here with ac not working, they "serviced" my ac for $160, with a stamp saying 6 month/60000mi warranty on the receipt. Needless to say ac stopped working several weeks later. Brought car back, they wanted to charge $1000 to fix ac and not honor their warranty! I tried another repair shop and got ac fixed for $170. Best auto care is not trustworthy and i do not recommend them at all! I question the quality of their work and the business practice of overcharging. read more

Didn't get my car fixed here because even though I called in to see if they could look at my car, and they said yes, when I came in they old me it would 'take some time.' Since I only have one car (and was sick that day) it would have been nice to know that they were busy at that time and couldn't give the car a look. Poor customer service. read more

I worked with Drew he is terrible. First he pressed me out in the parking lot to "fix" my car. Then he didn't "fix" anything and painted it the wrong color. When I called to get him to finish the job he ignored me for days. When I asked him to refund me for the work he ignored me again. I just want a finished job or at least blue paint instead of white. Then he said he would handle the situation and instead he blocked my number after bragging about having 19k in the bank and telling me how my business doesn't matter to him. read more

My 2002 Corolla's driver side mirror was smashed. I bought a replacement part at Auto Zone and brought it here to have it installed. The owner Chang told me labor would cost $90. They installed it in 25 minutes and I was good to go. Chang was really nice and I will definitely bring my car back here again if I need any service. read more

I've taken my car there for safety inspection for several years. Last week my car failed inspection due to a small hole in the front pipe. The estimate would have been well over $500 to replace. When I asked them to show me the hole, they refused and said that they did not need to. Customer service has diminished and I will no longer be doing business there nor would I recommend it for anyone else. read more

I had my vehicle towed here with a specific problem and was given a quoted a price. That afternoon, I get a call from best auto that car needed a new battery. I was dumbfounded because the car had started earlier that day, multiple times. Either way, they supposedly could not conduct the diagnostic without a battery so I decided to purchase the battery myself because they were charging 245 for the battery!! The following morning I drop off the battery and check up on the vehicle in the afternoon. Somehow, someway, there was water in the battery area (BMW has the battery in the trunk) I asked him how the hell did that get in there? How is it possible that the came in with one issue and now it has another big issue. Chang ( the owner/manager) said he didn't know but that the entire installation and cables for the car will now be 645 dollars! Wtf! This was never the issue to begin with, the car started just fine until it got there. The entire situation was pretty damn fishy. This place racks up the prices and conveniently charges you with a condescending smile on their face. Will never go back and encourage anyone to stay away. read more

Best Auto has taken care of all our cars in our whole family for many years. Mr. Chang, the manager, is excellent - he will never rip you off and is always up front with the charges. The charges are reasonable. The work is great - never a problem with that. Usually small issues can be taken care of the same day. I bring my car in and they quoted me one price. I took it home to decide if I want to pay multiple thousands of dollars for a repair. I decided to go ahead and take it there. I get there and they tell me I need even more work. I give them the go ahead to do the work. While the work is being done, I consult with the dealership and inquire the price they would charge for the same repair. They quote me $800 less. I feel like I was ripped off. I'm faced with multiple thousands of dollars worth of repairs and they agree to rent me a car for a day. They didn't say the repair would take 3 days. Not happy with the service that I received. read more
