I recently purchased a car from this dealer and had the oddest experience ever. About 3 days after purchasing my BRAND NEW CAR, the check engine light came on. We took the car into the service dept and after waiting about 30 min my husband and I were told that a rodent made a nest under the hood and chewed through the electrical. At first we were given the impression that this had to have happened in our care and we were beyond furious. They kept the car to investigate the problem. After two days without my car I was still pissed out. Fortunately, they fixed the car with no charge to me. They assured me that they would honor any problems related to this. Overall, I had a decent experience. The only thing that bothered me about this dealership was out of their control. My salesman seemed nice and helpful. Bought 2016 Kia Soul new in North Aurora, but since moving to Chicago thought we would try closer maintenance at Berwyn. Don't drive a lot and just getting 7500 mile maintenance. Get frequent oil changes at other places and keep car immaculate. Was too upset to talk to service after driving car away. I will never take it back there. Oil was dripped all over the engine. Steering wheel was greasy. Sloppy and unprofessional. Maybe most customers are not that picky, be we are and will not be back. Guess we just drive to North Aurora for 15,000 maintenance. read more

I bought my Kia at their sister store in Willowbrook just becase we were looking at different cars on Lagrange Road in Countryside and it was easier. However, I did look at some new models w/my wife last year at this dealership and no pushy salesman so that was good. We did not end up buying another Kia because my wife wanted something else. I have dealt a lot w/the service department and they are great. I usually end up talking to Hector in service department and he is really good. The only things I have taken my car in for is recalls a check engine light and an oil change. When another car repair chain told me I needed brakes, I had Berwyn Kia check brakes and they said I do not need brakes. Service department is honest, the only thing I don't like in service department is that they charge you 40 dollars (or some amount close to that) to check brakes. read more

The service department has had my car for 4 months. Let me start by saying this I'm pissed beyond words. They have been giving me the run around in all this time. The first thing they told me was that my warranty wasn't answering for them and when they got a hold of them it was a back and forward argument Danny said. After I called the warranty company they said different but ok I went off on everybody because at this point it's been 2 months and I'm still paying a car note. So I wanted to talk to a manager which is hector and Tim. I called everyday for an update on my car they all said different things like parts didn't come in, we order the wrong part, we haven't went through the shipped parts and so much more. Now that it's 4 months later I'm being told my management the parts are in and the engine is together we don't understand way out tech has put it in. That's not all now after the warranty covered what they covered I give them $1440 to break down the engine which I was told I wasn't supposed to pay because it's covered. Danny says to me we have a part that we missed out on you claim can we use the $1440 you give to get the part. I said yes and asked him will I have to pay any more money. He said no Mr. Jackson everything is paid and over we have to fix it and you come get it this was last month. They have texted me and gave me so many dates on which my car would be ready 6 times to be honest. Every week it's something different. I called today because it was supposed to be ready Tim tell me sorry don't yell but your car isn't ready. It's all together just hasn't been put in the car yet. I said why not he said honestly I don't know. They are saying that I have to pay $3400 because my warranty didn't cover everything. They did a $13,000.00 job on a $10,000.00 car. And have had my car for months and it still not ready on none of the days they said it would be fixed. Tim and hector comes up with writing me a check for $180 to cover 3 days of rental for this weekend because my car might be ready Monday but can't be for sure. I'm pissed off I need to know who I can get in touch with to make a complaint and possibly sue. 4 months no car and paying a note. And y'all still want $3400 and only gone give me $180 for 3 day rental I'm highly disappointed and the management and staff of the Berwyn Kia Service it's been 4 months of calling about my car and they never have a answer always bs. read more

Went to purchase a new car and trade in my old one. This is my second try with this dealer. Once 3 years ago and again last week. Both times they where not willing to work with me on my trade and continued to try and low ball me on the trade value. Last week they did not even try to run my credit the first thing they said was we can not give you what you owe on your car and your payments would be close to $500. I left and went to evergreen and got the I was looking at at Berwyn and they gave me more than what I owed on my car and worked with me on my payments and my payments where way less than $500. He gave me a good price and was friendly and low-pressure. They did try to sell us a variety of other products and warranties, none of which we purchased, but I don't begrudge them those efforts. The efforts were straightforward, and our demurrals were not met with additional pressure but with respect for our decision not to buy. My first criteria in buying a car is always price, but I would certainly give Berwyn - and Vince - another chance to sell me a car. Went in for a oil change. When I checked it immediately after they said they changed the oil it looked black as coal. Went back in they tried to insult my intelligence telling me it suppose to be that color. Drained it in front of me was like water and looked like coffee. Berwyn Kia leased me a 2016 Optima Turbo SXL 3 months ago. My car got broken into and the windows busted. Not Kia's fault. BUT, Kia has NO replacement windows/parts anywhere in America. No timeline for getting a window. No help with my rental car. No help with a loaner vehicle. I *want* to pay to fix my car, but I just simply can't because they sold me a car that has no replacement parts. My husband and I went in with the intention of buying a car. Specifically a Kia soul. The first test drive was the basic model, not the one I was looking at. Then the dealer informed me that the model I was looking for had a stiffer drive, so he pulled out a second car. Well, this car had something wrong with it. It was making a very loud thumping noise as we drove it (not a good selling point). So, now we are two hours into our shopping experience and he finally brings out the model that I wanted. I was pretty happy with it. Next came the "talk" about the price. They wouldn't budge at all. I asked about the college student discount that I saw online and they said it only applies to grad students. LIE! The sales guy, said he was going to talk to his manager and left us in his hot cubical for over 45 mins. At that point we were ready to leave. We left without a purchase. The following week I visited another Kia dealership. Guess what? They gave me the price range i was looking for and applied the college student discount since it applies to all college students! So i take it to Berwyn Kia trusting them to repair the problem. So after i pay almost $1800.00 for the repair. I start it up.... its doing the same thing with the same noise. Then they tell me its something completely different now they want another $1300.00 to repair. After arguing with them for a few days they say to make it more affordable for me they offer me after market parts. The problem is either they did the job wrong parts were bad i think they know they screwed up trying to cover there mistake and trying to make me pay for it. Two other mechanic friends saying the same they didn't fix it correctly or misdiagnosed and repaired the wrong thing. I recommend everyone steer clear of this dealership!!! read more

Bought a new 2021 seltos from Berwyn Kia, the whole finance part went smoothly. Bought undercoating package for the car and remote start. Car gets dropped off, get a call the car is ready. Picked up the car not a single drop of undercoating was done to the car, the remote start that I bought from Kia ended up being a aftermarket (which I was not told about) when there is an oem remote start available for this vehicle. The second party that installed this remote start cut into the factory harness possibly voiding the warranty on a vehicle that doesn't have 1k at the time. Called them up the excuse for no undercoating is that they don't undercoat 2017 and newer vehicles, while ziebart has no issues doing it I called them prior. They agreed to have ziebart undercoat the car. So why do you they try and sell it. I can only imagine how many people are taken advantage of. Now onto the remote start it was poorly installed, wires were exposed from the factory harness. I requested a oem one be put in, and was told that it's not possible. I went to Schaumburg Kia they said it absolutely possible and they gladly gave me a part number for the kit and advised that the altered wiring could cause warranty issues down the line. Called Berwyn Kia again same thing was told to me that it can't be done(Schaumburg Kia just wants to tell me what I want to hear), goes to tell me why would they tell me that a aftermarket remote start would installed. I mean I bought a remote start from a dealer I was sorta expecting a oem remote start. Now I'm waiting on a call from the GM to see what will be done of this situation. So I basically lied to about both add ons that I bought for the car and was still charged for it. Wouldn't buy another car or get my car serviced at Berwyn Kia. read more
