I had some issues with my vehicle and brought it here to have it diagnosed. The diagnosis costs about $200 but is waived if you opt into the dealership working on your vehicle. The products and services that were recommended to me are seen in the screenshot of my repair estimate attached to this review. Some of the products and services appear to be pretty reasonably priced, but some are OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced and expensive! Two new tires were recommended to me as a MAJOR part of fixing an issue with my vehicle, and unfortunately, they screwed me over royally on the cost of the tires. They ended up charging me $478 for two tires, and I later discovered that these exact same tires are sold at Walmart for $101.06 each as seen in the screenshot and link attached to this review. This was HIGHLY upsetting to me. In the process of working on my vehicle, the mechanic discovered an issue with a cross threaded lug nut and wheel stud that prevented a tire from being rotated on my vehicle. Replacement parts to fix this issue only cost $8-$9, but they wanted to charge me about $300 for the labor, which is absolutely nuts! I opted out of this service and made arrangements to have a local mechanic to fix this issue for about 70 bucks, which is a BIG difference! On a positive note, the dealership did successfully fix all of my issues, but it's very difficult for me to give them credit in light of their exorbitant prices and how badly they ripped me off on the cost of those tires. Found an oil pan leak. idle pulley was scraping the engine mount. why? they put the wrong drive belt on purpose in my opinion. Go to my Google review for pictures. No excuse for putting on the wrong belt. Belt is something you would find in a lawn mower. Now that belt is causing more problems. Trash mechanic there. Trash salesmen there. Trash dealership. Was told by manager his tech was "having a day" ... Would not return. Got my vehicle serviced here. Got the "all inclusive" bundle which included lube, oil change, tire rotation, and multi-point inspection. First, I never was provided the multi-point inspection form. I followed up with the service advisor who never responded. Probably wasn't even completed. Second, there was no oil change sticker placed in my windshield, advising of what oil was used, when the next change is due, etc. Makes me think they didn't even complete the oil change. How do you forget to put an oil change sticker? Third, car was returned to me unwashed. This was just the icing on the cake - overall left with a bad impression. The service manager called me to discuss the above. He said his guy "was just having a day." Whatever that means. And as far as the car wash is concerned - it was "broke down" for the day. If you're buying a Kia, this is the place to do it! We went to several dealerships in the area, and so many of the salespeople didn't know everything about the Telluride. Granted, we did a TON of research before buying, watched every Youtube video, did all the side-by-side comparisons, read all of the blogs. So we knew probably more than most people do. But we were shocked by how many salespeople gave us incorrect information, and didn't realize it until we corrected them. Quite a few times they tried to upsell the vehicle based on things that were included, just to get us to pay a higher price. We dealt with quite a few bait-and-switch situations. Berwyn Kia was by far the furthest dealership from us (northside of Chicago), so we were hesitant to drive all the way down and deal with the same stuff. But they had the Telluride we wanted, so we made the drive. From the first interaction, everything felt different. It felt very casual, it went at our pace, and they recognized that we were knowledgable buyers and met us where we were at. They were really straightforward about pricing, and rather than having to negotiate, we got a great price right off the bat. Alex was really knowledgable about the car, and never once gave us incorrect information. It made us feel really comfortable. Aside from that, both Alex and Dennis (manager) actually took interest in us, and we had some really great conversations. When we actually came in to purchase the car, they took great care of us and we got to know each other to pass the time, because the actual purchase part does take time. Once we were ready to get in the car, Alex hopped in and walked us through EVERYTHING (features, specs, Kia Connect app) even though it was almost 9:30pm and the dealership had closed at 8pm. He didn't let us leave until all of our questions were answered. I really can't say much else other than if you're looking to buy a new Kia, I'd strongly recommend starting here and asking for Alex. A lot of dealerships are bigger and flashier, while this one is smaller and more humble. If you've been to those other dealerships, you'll feel the difference here immediately. read more

Every time we take the vehicle in for anything two things happen: 1 - We get an email survey followed by a phone call that usually seems a bit annoyed that we didn't fill out the service center survey. Guys.. we don't owe you that. 2 - Some kind of text from the sales department trying to get me to talk about buying a card, trading my car, etc. After unsubscribing from texts with the company, they continue to do this. The fact that the sales team sent me a misleading text about wanting to "buy" my vehicle, but hadn't seen it or made any assessments about my vehicle when they did it, was pretty misleading way to start a conversation my opinion. The engine died out of the blue in my 2020 Kia Soul. I took it to them and they wouldn't touch it. It sat in their parking lot for 2 weeks. During this time they refused to speak to me - AT ALL. No matter how I tried to trick SOMEONE into talk to me, I was put on endless hold. My daughter tried as well. I cannot even explain the stress I felt here, or what trauma I went through. BEWARE: Berwyn Kia Tricks Customers into Paying for Unnecessary Services - UNETHICAL I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with Berwyn Kia Service team ( though their sales team is great). I brought my 2023 Kia Sportage in for routine maintenance/oil change at just 13,784 miles, and was shocked to find a $199 charge for a "fuel induction service" on my bill--a service I never asked for, was never told about, and which is not required by Kia sportage at this mileage. When I questioned the charge, the staff tried to justify it by pointing to my check-in signature, but this is a sneaky tactic to squeeze extra money out of customers. Illinois law requires explicit consent for any service over $100, but Berwyn Kia clearly ignores this rule. Their service team will add unnecessary services to your bill without your knowledge, hoping you won't notice or will be too intimidated to complain. When I demanded a refund, they flat-out refused. This is not just bad service--it's a dishonest way to make money at the expense of trusting customers. I strongly advise anyone considering Berwyn Kia to double-check every line on their invoice and question every extra charge. Don't let them fool you like they tried to do with me. I used this dealership because it was in my hometown, and also, they had a Kia selto with all the features and color I wanted. My sales person was Oraya Resendez. At first they were very accommodating. I wanted to support another female and shop locally . I put a deposit on the vehicle and went back about a week later. drove the vehicle, and it had 18 miles on it. When I returned to purchase the vehicle, the price was different, and the paperwork said the vehicle had 330 miles on it. I questioned why the vehicle that I test drove and put a deposit down on now had an extra 312 miles on it. Dennis, the sales manager, said he didn't know as he was off for a week. Something seemed off. The price of the car, the milage, and they seem to be rushing through the contract process . They had to redo the contract 3 times as they did not add the discounts for the financing, my deposit, or my kia loyalty. We got through the paperwork and I advised them I would physically take possession of the car the next day.They really wanted me to take the vehicle. But I told them I would be back. As I was walking through the lot . I looked at the car I just purchased. It WAS NOT THE SAME VEHICLE!! Did they think I wasn't going to notice that the vehicle didn't have the same features I originally wanted?? I went back into the dealership. However, this situation was really bad, hence my first negative review. After having the heating on my car go out, I scheduled an appointment with Berwyn Kia for the end of the week to have it looked at. Four days before my appointment I called and spoke with a member of the service department to see if I could get in earlier due to the cold weather/no car heat situation. After explaining the situation to the service representative they let me know there were no earlier appointments and confirmed that my appointment was scheduled for the end of the week. After driving in the cold for the rest of the week, I showed up for my appointment and was informed by the service department that they "wouldn't be able to look at my car for at least two weeks" and that there was nothing they could do for me today (again, this is despite me having a scheduled appointment). When I asked why they had even scheduled an appointment if they were too booked to look at my car, the response that I received was, "We didn't even know why you were bringing in your car." (Please note that I received confirmation emails from Berwyn Kia before my appointment which listed why I was coming in, and I had spoken with a representative earlier in the week.) I get that a company can be busy, but instead of reaching out and proactively discussing the backlog that they have, they did nothing and completely wasted my time. I love coming to this KIA dealer. There is usually no issue with checking in as they are prompt and quick to greet you as you pull into the service center. We have a 2012 KIA RIO that has seen some better days but is getting us where need to go they are happy to service our vehicle. I had a traditional oil change which ran for $45. This is for my experience purchasing my second Kia with them, and trying to get my hitch installed, after purchase, which they said they would do with my purchase, to win my business, versus me buying from another dealer. It took them way longer than they said it would to "get the part." I've spoken to the service department manager twice, so far, and months later, I still don't have the hitch installed. It started with, "We cant confirm a time." Then it is now the guy needs 4-6 hours to "do it right." We are talking a bike rack hitch, not tow hitch, which takes 1-2 hours, max to install. I will never buy a car here again, and dead sure won't keep bringing them business. Still waiting. No appointment. No resolution. And if I can't resolve it with the service dept manager, I'm not sure really what else to do at this point. We were nothing more than a transaction to Berwyn Kia. ___________________________________________________________ Our 2011 Kia Sorento had been plagued by some recalls that we were able to get taken care of at the dealership. That was a decent experience, but it all went downhill from there. Once those had been taken care of we asked for them to check out our check engine light that had been bugging us for the last couple of years. Almost every month from Oct 2021 to Aug 2022, we had taken it to the Kia dealership in Berwyn and experienced a complete lack of communication, long wait times (they would hold onto our cars for days running smoke tests), and many diagnoses to replace unnecessary parts that looked more like a checklist than actually figuring out the issue. When we were told our final two options were to replace our ---plastic--- tank for $2000 because of a hairline crack that couldn't be seen or buy a new car from the dealership (big shocker there), we knew we had to take our Sorento elsewhere. We collected our car, said we would "think" about those options, and asked close friends where they went. Everyone we had asked all highly recommended a family-owned shop without any hesitation. We made an appointment, spoke to the main mechanic, and through their efforts were able to figure out it was our alternate fuel pump with only a ---couple--- of smoke tests. It was 10+ appointments of guesswork (leaving us without a car for a month+ in total) at the dealership vs two smoke tests (leaving us without a car for two days total) and the right set of eyes at the local mechanic. Instead of paying $2000 for a tank that was not needed, we spent a total of $300 for the pump and labor. Our engine light has not been on since we got that taken care of in September. ___________________________________________________________ If you need service, please save your time and go to another location. I took my 2018 Kia in for my headlights bulbs to be replaced. First meeting Michele at the front desk was a unwelcome feeling. When I told her the problem whit the car she said no it must be fog on the lights as if I'm ignorant and don't no what I'm talking about. Then I was told I can't get any recalls on the car fixed. The car was taken to the back for service no one came to let me know how much it would cost. No one told me the car was ready. I went to the front desk and was ignored the person didn't even look at me. She just held the phone on her ear and looked the other way. I stood there over five minutes. Another car pulled in and the customer was approached immediately. No one asked my if I needed help. They just walked by my as if I wasn't there. Very poor customer service and rude. Very unprofessional and careless dealership - if you want an enjoyable and painless experience, stay far away from this dealership. Oraya Resendez was our sales associate and was very disorganized, not communicative and very lackadaisical. We placed an order with her in Oct - reached out 3-4 times after the 6 month mark and got no response from her whatsoever. Finally at 7 months she called and said the car will be here 6/4 and casually asked us if we still want the car - all while confirming the wrong build and quickly covering it up by saying there was another order with my last name. A few weeks later we get a text with the VIN # but never the window sticker. I called to confirm numbers prior to pick up - she finally sent me the window sticker and we noticed the cost was higher. She placed the blame on chip shortage, supply chain and gas prices when in reality our order included additional features with the big ticket item being a rear head entertainment system. When we addressed this with her she blamed the manufacturer and said they've been adding features to orders without notice. At that point, we pulled the plug. She is not competent to sell cars whatsoever. We're confident she sold our order to someone and found the next closest build to backfill our order. Manager - Vince Moreno is an impatient, egotistical and dirty salesman. He tried to strong arm me as a woman - told me the car wasn't ours and he can easily sell it on the floor for over MSRP with no problem tomorrow. He took zero time to understand our order was incorrect all along and shifted blame on the economy just to get the deal over the finish line. Tavia - the internet sales was the only individual who was reliable, customer care driven and enthusiastic. She was our only piece of enjoyment there. They need more people like her read more

Holy crap! It's only gotten worse. Dropped off my car on Thursday for a rear end camera replacement covered by warranty. Waited for a call back on Friday and Saturday. Had to follow-up again Saturday afternoon to which someone from the call center told me it was ready. Showed up Saturday evening to the receptionists telling me that they didn't have my car there. Said some confusion from the call center. Followed up again on Monday morning - left a message for the manager and no response. Had to follow up again! In the afternoon - spoke to someone from the 'experience' service who sincerely apologized (though she was not the one at fault). She confirmed it was ready today. Came to pick it up - staff completely non-caring, no apologies, nothing. Turned on the car and put it in reverse to see the camera quality isn't clear - probably on upside down for all I know! Sitting here now to get it fixed again so I figured I'd take the time to write the review that this place has just gotten worse. So i waited a few months before i reviewed them after my car purchase during covid. During this time it may be different than others - but can say i had an amazing honest experience purchasing my telluride. It was a no nonsense experience without the games most dealers play. I did it completely online. My only concern with the telluride was the windshield which has a history of cracking. Needless to say this experience happened to me - but berwyn kia worked with kia manufacturing to ensure it was a seemless fix. So thank you for the great experience. No one ever returned my call so I decided to make an appointment. I get there and apparently the service center was closed. The woman I spoke with was more concerned with telling me she'd been off work since 2pm than trying to see if they could somehow assist me after I said I didn't feel safe driving my vehicle. After explaining to her that I've driven quite far due to their lack of phone response, she initially blamed it on some phone system before I clarified that I was directly calling the service center we were standing in to which she responded that she'd let the manager know they weren't picking up the phones and walked away....I've already escalated this matter to Kia Corporate and I suggest others that deal with problems from this service department to do the same! read more
