We were seated almost immediately which was a relief. I had the blt (minus tomatoes) with their signature millionaires bacon Let me just tell you, it's must be sick. The amount on the sandwich was huge really crispy and fresh one of my daughters the chicken sandwich again excellent quality fresh and the chicken taste really good. My youngest daughter. I don't know how I haven't left a review for this place yet, I've been here so many times! I was shown this place by someone who went to Berkeley for undergrad and who spoke highly of this place once they learned I love brunch. My go to dish to get here is the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. I get it every single time without fail because it's such a wonderful combination: fluffy pancake, creamy flavor from the ricotta, and subtle but not too subtle hints of lemon. I've tried making this at home and it's just not the same. Every mouthful is *close your eyes to savor and do a little happy dance* level of good. I've tried various other dishes: the benedicts (salmon, Korean fried chicken, and black stone), bulgogi scramble, the millionaires bacon, etc, and everything I have tried has been really good. I love how it is a fusion of Korean and American food for the dishes. I don't drink alcohol so I don't have anything to say about any of the alcoholic drinks, but I have gotten their dirty ube latte and thought it was a bit in there sweeter side but good nonetheless. The waiters are always super nice and very helpful if you have questions. Service is usually pretty quick! If you come at peak hours there is a bit of a wait. Chicken and Waffles 10/10- the fried chicken here is so good! Normally I'm not a fan of chicken and waffles as a combination, but this was truly incredible. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside but so juicy and tender inside. The seasoning was amazing and the waffle was fluffy with the perfect texture. The way they paired together was actually perfect - the sweetness of the waffle complemented the savory chicken so well. This completely changed my mind about chicken and waffles. Beef Bulgogi Scramble 8.87/10- made with marinated ribeye, carrots, spinach, red onion, cherry pepper, and scallion. This was such a unique twist on a breakfast scramble! The marinated ribeye was so tender and flavorful - you could taste how well-seasoned it was. The vegetables added great texture and freshness, and I loved how the cherry peppers gave it a little kick. The scallions added this perfect finishing touch. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors worked so well together. KFC Benedict 10/10- I love eggs Benedict and I love how they made a twist on it by making it with Korean fried chicken! This was so good and so creative. The Korean fried chicken was crispy and had amazing flavor, and I loved how they incorporated scallions and Gochujang hollandaise sauce - it's so unique and delicious. The Gochujang hollandaise was the perfect balance of creamy and spicy. The eggs were poached perfectly with that runny yolk. This is definitely one of the most creative benedicts I've ever had. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes 9.68/10- these were the perfect sweet treat to balance out all the savory food! They were so light and fluffy but packed with amazing flavor. The lemon was bright and fresh, and the ricotta made them incredibly moist and creamy. They weren't too heavy which was perfect after all the other rich dishes. The perfect ending to an amazing meal. Bottomless Mimosas 10/10- the bottomless mimosas were great! They definitely had all of us completely exhausted from them but they were so fun. You get 90 minutes which is plenty of time, and you get the option of having them with orange juice, fresh raspberry lemonade, or grapefruit juice. My personal favorite was definitely the raspberry lemonade - it was so refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Berkeley Social Club is honestly one of my favorite places in Berkeley (yes, I'm basic) but it's such a fun spot and their food is so good! I love how their food is pretty unique with creative twists on classic dishes, and it's such a fun vibe to hang out with friends. Food was pretty good and staff was attentive. I had a scramble which was pretty good. I did not remember the millionaires bacon was sweet so would probably not order that again. One complaint was the ube latte is in the menu but does not have coffee in it so it's really ube milk. You have to order a dirty ube latte to get it with the espresso which I think is misleading. Once I got what I expected I did enjoy it, however. I like the decor inside too kind of an industrial look. read more

The staff is really nice and patient. Parking was rough even on a weekday for dinner.. be prepared or maybe you'll be lucky. It took me like twenty or more minutes for parking but not the restaurant's fault lol I got the buddha bless you cocktail - sweet and I wish it was stronger but good if you love sweet cocktail. I had a blast with a group of friends here a few months ago. It's a fun spot that's located right by Berkeley campus. This is that typical fun college drinking spot and I had a blast. You can't go wrong with any of the KBBQ options and don't forget to order Soju. What is keeping me from giving this spot a 5 star, is I have had better Korean food for a cheaper price. Cute ambiance with a large and diverse menu. The back patio is also super cute! Giving this a fairly low rating because the wait times here are always long when I come. After ordering, expect to wait at least 45 minutes to 1 hr for your food to come. And 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill regardless of the wait. I also think a lot of the food here is very heavy, and small portion sizes. We got the marscapone french toast and it was deep fried and tasted quite oily. The fried chicken and waffle plate was pretty tasty but the chicken pieces were very small. I think there are better brunch places in Berkeley/East Bay but BSC will always be a staple in the Berkeley area. read more

It was a very very chill crowd, only a few people inside. The inside I notice was very very clean. One thing that stood out to me was the waitress weren't really friendly or even have/show personality, so that made it very odd when ordering with them and speaking to them. Now, the food was a 8/10... I think it was what I ordered, I ordered the crab Benedict and soon as it came out, it smelled sooooo fishy so it sort of turned my taste buds off... I still ate it, my sister had the Spicy Korean CW .. it served with spicy syrup, but she immediately sent the spicy syrup back and got regular syrup. The plating was cute tho, it was really pretty. Heard of this place from multiple people so I had to check it out. We made a reservation for 4 people at 10:30am on a Sunday and we were seated right away. I actually made the reservation the day of as I saw a lot of slots just opened up in the morning. Some of our party was running late and arrived maybe 20 minutes after we were seated but they didn't seem to hurry us and let us take out time. I ordered the blueberry mascarpone French toast and an iced Ube latte. The food came out a maybe 5-10 minutes later and everything my table ordered looked good. My French toast was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The mascarpone made it "moist" and the blueberries and other fruit added extra sweetness on top of the maple syrup. The Ube latte tasted like ube but it was nothing special. Overall a really nice place for brunch as long as you can find parking around the area. read more

This place has been on my bookmark list for a while for its brunch. It took about 20 min to get a table for 2 after signing up on the wait list around 12:40pm on a Sunday. It also took at least 20 min for the food to come out after ordering, but they did seem to be swamped as the waiters and hostess were running around. The food was good, but not amazing for the price and wait. I did enjoy the casual but slightly upscale ambiance. Waffle and Korean F.C.: Like many waffles and fried chicken, this dish was pretty dry without the syrup. Their version of syrup is spicy, but the chicken itself did not seem to have any special sauce or seasoning to make it Korean fried chicken-style . Bulgogi Benedict: The Benedict was actually quite good. The meat and vegetables were quite flavorful. The hollandaise sauce was slightly congealed so again the dish was slightly on the dry side, but if you got a bite that was soaked in the sauce, it was delicious. This flavor is pretty unique for a Benedict as well, which would be the main reason why I might choose this place over another brunch spot. The breakfast potatoes were solid. Overall, the brunch was slightly disappointing (about 3.5 stars) considering how popular this place is but I would be down to try other dishes or the lunch/dinner menus. read more

The food was delicious! Great atmosphere. Only thing I didn't like was our groups' food came out all at different times. Some were spread out like 15 minutes in between the next. Everybody had almost finished eating by the time I got my plate. That was a little disappointing. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and they brought out 1 birthday fruit cup, so we had to pass it around to the three people for the photo opp. Haha. Holy cow this place is so good. Yes, it is a little bit on the pricier side for food but it's so worth it. The millionaire bacon bursts with flavor and it is unmatched between your regular kind bacon. It was Hownslrt the highlight of my meal but I enjoyed everything I was served! The waiter also recommended me the ube latte and oh my gosh, the fresh ube that they used in here is so amazing I couldn't stop drinking it after I took my first sip. Came here after a bad experience at another spot, and I'm really glad we did everything happens for a reason. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and quick, which made a big difference. I asked our waitress for her recommendation and went with the Blackstone Benedict definitely the right choice. The food not only looked amazing but it tasted even better. I was in town for an overnight work trip and was meeting a local friend for brunch. She suggested this restaurant and it was an easy 5 minute walk from my hotel ( the Residence Inn Berkeley). I love the Asian fusion Vibe of the menu and it was a hard decision as so many things looked unique and delicious. I went with the Beef Bulgogi Benedict minus the English muffins underneath. They came with the most deliciously crispy potatoes and it was EGGcellent! And you know I had to get the Ube latte (with soy milk). The Latte was not too sweet which I appreciated. We celebrated our friend's birthday brunch here this past weekend and the back patio was perfect for our party size and fur babies! We had about 30 people plus 3 dogs so it was nice to be able to move around and mingle amongst our friends. It somewhat balanced out the heaviness of the dish. Korean.FC bites: Yummy! Crispy bonelsss chicken with a light batter! 5/5 Missed Dishes: Millionaire Bacon: Great seasoning but the bacon was not crispy. Not worth the $12 size order of 4 pieces. 1/5 Waffles + Korean.F.C: Their chicken is crispy and juice but the waffles were dry. 3/5 Supreme Jook: No. There's too much going on that it was overwhelming in flavors. This is a hard pass for me. 1/5 Egg in Purgatory: This dish has so much potential but the tomato stew was too watery and bland. 2/5 Although I wasn't a huge fan of the food, the service was top notch and was a 5/5 in my books! Ever since I've moved to East Bay, I've been hunting down for brunch spots. Finally got the chance to try out Berkeley Social Club and it did not disappoint! It is only street parking and during peak hours, it can be hard to find, so I suggest going a bit off hours. The restaurant was actually pretty big with lots of seatings (and people). Felt like a typical western brunch spot tbh (but it's fusion). We got the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and Waffles, the Ahi Tuna Benedict, and Bottomless Mimosas. KFC & Waffles - 5/5 - The amount of fried chicken on this platter is amazing, and thank god it's not basic tenders and waffles. These chicken are actually battered, fried and goes so well with the waffles and maple syrup. I added hot sauce on the side cause that's a must for me. Overall, probably one of my favorite Chicken and Waffles dishes. Ahi Tuna Eggs Benedict - 3/5 - I honestly had pretty low expectations for this cause everything just sounded like it'd be a weird mix, but I wanted to try it. I can say it was just alright and I probably won't get it again. Bottomless Mimosas - 5/5 - For $24 and 90 minutes, it was pretty awesome cause our amazing server just kept coming and refilling the glass for us LOL Food was good - I probably want to try other things they have. Just wrote a new review for a recent visit. 6 of my running friends from work plus some SO came here post the Berkeley Half Marathon to celebrate our 5k race in mid Nov. We were all in high spirits so this meal started on a very positive note. The place is huge with a high ceiling, classy yet casual ; we elected to sit outside since the weather was pleasant. I ordered the Irish coffee which was just OK.  Nothing compares to The Buena Vista in SF. For my meal, I ordered the Bulgogi Scramble, it had good meat and appropriate veggies.   The meal was expensive, $12 for drink and $24 for scramble.  But I enjoyed it and it was a special occasion. read more

Berkley Social Club is located just down the street from UC Berkley. Is it gonna be busy? Yup. Packed with lively college students? Yes. Is it smart to put a reservation in? Absolutely. I got the Mascarpone Blueberry Stuffed Crunch French Toast. They definitely got that crunch to accompany the fantastic lightly sweet french toast. Could've done with more fruits but I'm being picky at this point. We got a hot Dirty Ube Latte. The normal Ube Latte comes with chai. Get the dirty version if you want (or need) that caffeine. I was really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. When our food arrived, almost everything was slightly warm, which made it really hard to enjoy the meal. It felt like the dishes either sat too long before being served or weren't properly finished in the kitchen. But cold food just isn't acceptable, and it completely took away from the experience. I hope the kitchen works on timing and quality control; this review would've been very different otherwise. I was also concerned to see the ice bin left uncovered and fully exposed in a busy dining area.
