Another great appt for car maintenance. In on time,…read moreinspection done . A recall update also done on this appt. Appreciate all the staff and sales people for their courtesy and Hard work. Great place to buy a car and have follow-up maintenance managed. Ramsey the service manager is always in the know and keeping the work moving to get you in and out. And the staff will explain to customers any findings to get your approval for the unexpected.

First I want to clarify this review pertains to this business when it was Pinkerton Chevrolet, NOT…read moreSALEM MOTOR MILE CHEVROLET. I hope the service department is not currently run like it was under Pinkerton Chevrolet. I was a Chevrolet owner for 26 years and have owned several Chevrolet trucks. I had a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Custom I bought new from a dealership in North Carolina. At 58,202 miles, I took the truck to what was Pinkerton Chevrolet for transmission problems. This was in October of 2024. I had taken the truck there previously because of lurching at low speeds when stopping and a rattling noise from under the truck. Each time I was told the complaint could not be duplicated. The service manager at that time told me the torque converter had failed and they were going to flush the transmission, replace the torque converter and valve body since it was still under factory warranty. I had the same issue with a 2017 Silverado 1500 I had taken to Pinkerton Chevrolet and the same service manager told me the transmission needed to be replaced on that truck. This truck had just over 100,000 miles at that time. He said they could not guarantee all of the metal from the failed torque convertor could be flushed out. Since I was dealing with the same service manager, I asked him why I was not getting a new transmission since he had told me they can't guarantee all the metal can be flushed out. He told me if I wanted a new transmission I would have to pay for it. I told him this was a band-aid solution to get the truck to the end of the warranty period (60,000 miles on the transmission). On May 3rd of this year, I dropped the truck off for the same issues I had before with the transmission. The truck had 111,039 miles but the flushed transmission only had 52,837 miles. I received a phone call from one of the service advisors the next day saying the service manager said the transmission had to be REPLACED since it was out of warranty. When the transmission was flushed at 58,202 miles, I had filed a complaint with GM Customer Care. GM Customer Care resolved this complaint by giving me a component coverage letter extending the warranty on the transmission and transaxle to 133,202 or five years, whichever occurred first. I told the service advisor about the component coverage letter. He checked their records and was able to locate a copy of the letter. He said he would let the service manager know. I asked him, "Is Ramsey gonna do the same crap as last time and tell me the transmission only needs to be flushed because it is under warranty?". The service advisor said no. I drove to the dealership and was told by the service manager the transmission DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED, only flushed and the torque converter and valve body replaced. This was the same repair that was done at 58,202 miles that did not fix the problem. Once again, a band-aid solution. I told him I wanted to speak to the general manager about this. He told me I could not talk to the GM because he was not in customer service. This is the type of service I received at Pinkerton Chevrolet. I will say the service I received from the service advisors, Austin and Eli, was nothing but excellent. I did file another complaint with GM Customer Care. It started out with them saying they did not understand why the same repairs were being done when this did not fix the issue the first time. They did tell me I could speak to a GM Field Service Engineer but I would need to make that request through the dealership. When I spoke to the service manager about this, he told me he had never heard of this. He said he contacts the warranty department and tells them the issues and they decide what repairs or replacements are made. GM Customer care said the process is the service manager determines what repairs are needed and informs the warranty department to see if they will cover the cost of the repairs. After 54 days of talking to twelve different customer care representatives with GM Customer Care. They said they could not add a component coverage letter when there was still a warranty on a vehicle. That was strange because they did that when the transmission was still under a factory warranty at 58,202 miles. I will say Pinkerton Chevrolet and GM Customer Care do/did provide the same level of customer service which is nothing but band-aid solutions and zero concern for the customer and no thought into correctly fixing a problem when a vehicle is still under warranty. If you want it fixed right the first time, wait until the warranty expires and pay for it yourself. But I could be wrong. Maybe the presence of an active warranty makes metal easier to flush out of a transmission. I guess non-warranty metal in a transmission is harder to flush out than warranty metal. As I said at the start of this review, I certainly hope this establishment does not run the service department now like it was when it was Pinkerton Chevrolet.

When I was car shopping, they had cars listed which weren't actually on the lot. While I understand…read moresomeone may have just came and bought it that day, it was more than one car and I feel like they were probably just trying to get people on the lot. Then several employees didn't act like they knew where the cars were and time was wasted hunting for cars that weren't there. They could definitely use improvement in that area. As far as service goes, I have a 2016 Kia I bought used from another dealership. I've taken it to Hart Kia one time and they did a fine job repairing the damage. They shuttled me to Kroger, picked me up, and the repair time and communication were great. Cost of repair was reasonable.

Deeply Disappointed -- Theft During My Vehicle Purchase Experience…read more I purchased a brand-new Kia Carnival from Hart Kia October 2025 and was initially excited about the process. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into frustration and disappointment when my cell phone was stolen by one of the dealership's own detailers while they were cleaning my new vehicle. What made the situation even worse was how it was handled. When I reported the theft, the General Manager, Woody, was unapologetic and offered no meaningful assistance or sense of accountability. I was left without my phone for nearly a month until the thief eventually turned it on -- which allowed me to locate it and confirm his address. It's deeply concerning that something like this could happen at a dealership during the purchase of a new vehicle, and even more troubling that the management showed so little empathy or urgency in addressing it. I hope Hart Kia takes this feedback seriously, reviews its hiring and security practices, and ensures no other customer has to go through an experience like this.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last…read moreyear, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new stores and restaurants, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Brambleton Imports in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. After an incident I had with my first salesman there that caused me to loose his trust, I inquired among my friends, community leaders, and business owners, more in depth about their opinion of Brambleton Imports. Every single one of them had a positive opinion and wonderful impression of this car dealership that has been in business for around 30 years and who's founder and owner, Robert "Woody" Woodward, is still involved in its operation. With this excellent background about the business, I decided to return with a retired pilot who was a friend of a good friend of mine, and deal with another sales consultant. For in sales the customer is not owned. He has to be earned all the step of the way. And I am a firm believer of Relationship selling. "Relationship salesmanship, is a sales approach that prioritizes building trust and long-term relationships with customers over simply closing a deal. It involves understanding the customer's needs, offering tailored solutions, and fostering a genuine connection that leads to ongoing partnerships." This second time when we arrived, we found Sales consultant Danny, in his office and went to him. He did an excellent job in listening to both of us, in explaining what they had available at the time, and in taking us for a test drive, first of a Honda Accord and then of the 2022 Lexus ES 350 Luxury Edition, which I ended up purchasing cash, with my 5 years of savings and investing with this goal in mind. After all, I once taught at the university level a very popular course titled: "How to Make Your Money Grow." On the second day, I went to put together the deal. Danny gave me a copy of all the paperwork with the description of the Lexus and one with a photograph of it on top, and a breakdown of the costs and total payment I needed to have the check made. He also gave both my friend and I a Brambleton Imports cap. What is even better, he introduced me to Woody, the owner of the dealership, and wonderful person, who congratulated me for the ownership of my new car, and told me to come by anytime if I needed my car washed. On the third day, Danny understood that it would take some time to gather my high-interest savings and investments, together and transfer the amount to my Credit Union here. As a sign of good intention I wrote a deposit check for $1,000 and handed it to him. Today, we successfully finalized the deal, it was a win/win situation. He not only obtained my business, but what's even more important, my trust and my future referrals. And I received the beautiful Lexus of my dream. His delivery of my Lexus was exceptional. He showed me how some of the basics worked, connected my cellphone Bluetooth with the car, and programmed my home address.
