Roadside24 - new tires

These folks saved us -…read more It was Sunday, Father's day and there were dark clouds on the horizon. We were traveling up I-81 northbound near the rest area before exit 109 in VA when we had a catastrophic tire failure on our 5th wheel camper. The tire that blew out completely tore up the side of our camper, damaged the hydraulic jack which was leaking all over, and the tread wrapped itself around the axle 4 times severing the brake line. The first roadside folks we called through our travel assistance provider sent out someone else to do a quick tire change. With our spare now on we went to exit 109 to check the air pressure in or spare. We discovered we were about to loose a second tire and with any further driving we would have a repeat incident on the opposite side. While now stranded in a parking lot, we'd dare not drive further, we called our provider back. They never called us back! So we started looking on our own and found these folks. Holly answered the phone initially and subsequent times, she was super helpful and super pleasant to speak to. She committed to doing everything she could to help us out while we were researching our options and after having exhausted everything, we returned with her commitment in mind. We elected to have all 4 tires on the ground replaced on the camper, Holly and Troy came out with their truck to do the work. They arrived in a very timely manner, right at an hour. This included having to go meet someone at a closed warehouse to pick up the very special load range G tires we wanted to replace the OE load range E tires with and get to our location. Once Troy got started on replacing the tires, those dark clouds became a menace to the situation. A small super cell thunderstorm with frequent lightning, very strong winds and eventually dime sized hail hit us. Troy worked tirelessly right until the hail hit and we had to take cover. Once the worst had passed, Troy moved right back into the rain and proceeded to finish the job. Smaller tires are a pain to change roadside without machinery, but he made it work using the usual techniques and his knowledge of changing big rig tires. Troy also repaired our hydraulic stabilizer jack which had been leaking at a fitting from the initial tire blowout impacting the line. The jack itself sustained some damage but he was able to correct it so we could continue our trip and use the hydraulics that also power the slide out rooms. Without this golden nugget of help our entire trip could have been ended by that little leak, we are very grateful. The biggest accolade I feel was that Holly and Troy were very fair with their prices and did not take advantage of the situation being Father's Day, Sunday. If we should ever be in need and we are in their area, they've earned our business for life and I can only hope perhaps under better circumstances our paths will cross again.

Buyer Beware -- My Experience With This Tire Company…read more I'm sharing my experience so other customers, especially first-time or younger buyers, know to carefully document everything when purchasing tires and dealing with a warranty. In July 2025, I took my son, who is in his early 20s, to this store for 50,000-mile tires. His vehicle had approximately 31,000 miles. By October, the tires were showing significant wear. My son rotated the tires himself. In January 2026, with approximately 43,000 miles on the vehicle, the tires were wearing extremely badly and the vehicle had developed a shake. He returned to the NTB location in Salem. The tires were rotated and he was sold an alignment. By April 2026, the tires had deteriorated even further. One tire developed a broken belt and had to be replaced. The technician, Matt, documented warranty information and sold my son an additional $16 warranty. We were subsequently told the warranty would be determined by tread depth rather than mileage, and because a new tire had just been installed, the newest tire would be used to determine eligibility. The April invoice also did not document the vehicle mileage. By August 2026, the vehicle had approximately 53,000 miles -- only about 22,000 miles after the original 50,000-mile tires were installed -- yet the remaining tires had experienced extreme wear. At that point, I personally became involved. We went to the store and spoke with Michael. He told us that the employees involved previously had given my son incorrect information and were essentially trying to avoid doing the work. While I appreciated that acknowledgment, my son was understandably frustrated by the experience. Two days later, I personally returned to the store, ordered a new set of tires, and asked that the warranty be honored. I was told the exact price could not be determined until the warranty department reviewed the situation. On Monday, after four separate calls with corporate customer service and Holly, the manager handling the warranty, we were offered a 50% goodwill credit toward the original cost of the three remaining tires, applied toward another set of tires. However, we were also required to pay for another alignment, and our military discount would not be available. What bothers me most is that there were multiple opportunities to address the problem earlier. The abnormal tire wear and shaking were reported in January. Instead of resolving the issue then, we went through months of additional problems. Good customer service is doing the right thing when a customer has a legitimate problem -- especially when dealing with a young customer who may not understand every detail of a warranty. My recommendation to anyone buying tires here: document the mileage on every visit, keep every invoice, read the warranty carefully, and get all warranty-related explanations in writing. And they have to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles.
