Giving it a 4 over 5 due to the music being a little loud (occasionally hard to hear each other, even though he was great!) and had a couple drink issues with items coming back not available. I don't get the hype. Over priced for sure, lousy service and it is literally on top of the train tracks. The food is meh, not sure I've had anything there I've loved. Traveling through town and decided to stop at this delicious restaurant. We ordered the grilled asparagus, bourbon chicken skewers, and fried pickles. Honestly some of the best food I've ever had. The chicken was juicy, pickles were fantastic, and asparagus hit the spot. Autumn was fantastic, kind, and efficient. Thank you autumn! Two years later!!!!! UPDATE!!!!!: they got rid of the chicken skewers but the food is just as good as I remembered it. I had an Airbnb 40 minutes away and made a special trip because I was dying to see if this place was as delicious as I remembered. Troy was our bartender. When we arrived it was packed. He was very busy but attentive. As a bar manager I have much respect that he was genuine and not "fake nice" if that makes sense. He made my drinks perfectly, with impeccable timing. He is a gem! I was just in there 10 minutes ago. They'd been open for 4 minutes and the place was empty. There were a few people at the bar and one table with people at it. I was by myself and the hostess told me to sit at the tables on the left (two tops). I asked if I could sit by the glass and she said "no, you have to sit on the left". I looked around and said "the place is empty". She said, "we'll get real busy". I wasn't planning on spending the night there. Was invited to try this restaurant as I heard it was a great place. Drove 30 minutes to check it out for an early Mother's Day date. It did not disappoint!! We were greeted by Judy as we entered the Pub. She was very friendly and promptly seated us and also brought us water. It was very busy and was quite excited as I saw all the different dishes and drinks as we made our way to the table. As far as drinks, there is a large variety and they offer samples and flights which was great! I tried a delicious IPA that had hints of coconut and pineapple. (Don't remember name!). As an appetizer tried the sautéd brussel sprouts due to friend recommendation. It was great. We then had Seared Ahi Tuna and also also the Scallops. Both were delicious! We will be back! We went here for drinks and taco Tuesday. We arrived, sat at the bar and there were 3 couples and 1 single person at the bar, 2 tables had a couple and there were 3 tables under the outdoor tent. Well, after numerous recommendations, we optioned to try this establishment. Unimpressed, to say the least. Pricing here is on par for the local venues. The servers were cordial. You could definitely see they were at their limit. The restaurant was at capacity, and the food suffered because of it. We ordered what was recommended, Tuna, Smash Burger, Chicken Sandwich, and Nachos. The nachos were by far the best part of the meal. The ingredients were fresh, and the chips were crispy. We watched as our meals were prepared and came to the window. Which brings us to the mains that were ordered. The Sushi Grade Tuna was completed before the Nachos and sat in the window for 15 minutes before being served. The Tuna was displayed atop of coleslaw, jalapeños atop with tortilla chips. The coleslaw was runny and unappealing. The Tuna was supposed to be seared with a cool center, sitting up in the widow for so long that wasn't the case. It was still edible but lacked what I believe the people next to us were privileged to. The burger was exactly what they said it was a smash burger. The burger was well done and lacked in the typical smash taste. The accompanying fries were not impressive and seemed to have sat. Last but not least, the Fried Chicken Chipotle sandwich w side of fries. It arrived at the table with the other items, but you could tell this is what the window was waiting for. The chicken was seasoned well but a bit dry. The sandwich was over slathered in the chipotle mayo. It did ruine the sandwich. With much less mayo, I believe our opinion could have been changed. The fries again were not impressive. The establishment is very nice, we believe that the quality could have been much better. We may have caught them on an off night. I absolutely love their flat bread and their calamari!! So yummy, however last time we ordered to go my husbands burger was almost still raw. We asked for it medium and this was definitely still mooing. You can even see the bun is soaked in the blood. Unfortunate because we haven't had issues before but a little disappointed. read more

We arrived at 6:00 PM on a Friday night and were seated promptly but it did fill up shortly thereafter. The menu is dominated by small plates items and burgers. I should have stuck with either of those choices. Instead I ordered the chef's rotating steak. Friday's choice was either a 12oz or 16oz ribeye. I ordered the 12 oz and was not impressed. Although it was cooked just right it had a fair amount of fat that needed to be trimmed. After trimming the fat, I wonder if the steak was still 12oz. (YES, I know that ribeye has marbling which adds to its flavor. This was more than just marbling.). The steak came with their homemade mashed potatoes but no other vegetable. All in all, for $28 disappointing and a poor value. On the other hand, my wife loved her pulled pork sliders which came with Berger Bros homemade chips. You get two sliders and they are a good size. I feel their prices are a little high. For instance, Revolution Eugene Porter is $6.50. A glass of Meiomi Pinot Noir is $14! (The previous week we had this same Pinot Noir for $40 at a nice Italian restaurant.) As previously mentioned my 12 oz steak was $28. Service was just adequate and we really got the feeling they wanted to turn the table. We were in and out of there in 55 minutes. My meal rates 2 stars and my wife's meal was a solid 4 stars. Split the difference and you get 3 stars or "just OK". read more

We arrived at 6pm on a Sat eve. The restaurant was pretty crowded but we were seated outside immediately. Our server came by about 10 mins after we were seated and took our drink order. She brought our drinks out about 10 mins later. She took our dinner order about 35 mins after we were seated. We asked for a Carafe of water but never received it. We had to catch our server several times to get drink refills. My family ordered different burgers and I ordered chicken fried chicken. At 7:30 our food was delivered. My meal was really good, no complaints at all. My daughter ordered a burger with an egg on it, the egg whites were clear and runny. She ordered it med rare but it arrived med well. She dips fries in her ranch dressing (which we requested 2x), she said the ranch wasn't good at all and the fries tasted like they'd sat for a while. My husband said the burger was just ok, he'd ordered the DeWitt burger. It was a very disappointing meal, we like supporting locally owned businesses and had high hopes for this one. If you like beer then there is a large rotating selection. The food is all upscale pub food and tastes fantastic. Definitely try the homemade chips! I really loved that I could come here with a toddler and he had a great time (coloring on the table, trains zooming by) while I could enjoy a fantastic burger. Also all of the drinks can be made virgin so if you don't drink alcohol you are finally able to enjoy something other than Coke/Sprite/Iced Tea! Berger Brothers is a hidden Gem! The Restaurant: Upon approach, you will notice the pleasant outdoor seating area. The restaurant itself is an airy, relaxed atmosphere, with great decor. The bar spans the length of the seating area, with rotating craft beer chalk boards between between the flat panel TV's. Bathrooms are very large, and very clean. The Staff: The staff is friendly, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The bartender is always willing to recommend one of the craft beers of the week based upon your personal tastes. The Chef: "Chef Greg" as he is known, comes with a 20+ year pedigree in the food industry (unheard-of for a young guy)! He has been a head-chef at several country clubs and up-scale restaurants before telling me "it was time to do my own." The Food: there isnt a bad dish in the restaurant. Food ranges from great bar-food (nachos, sliders, burgers) to meals found only in up-scale establishments. Cedar plank salmon, sushi-grade scallops, stuffed chicken breast (just to name a few) arrive to your table with a presentation that is second to no other restaurant in the area. Weekly specials are introduced to keep customers coming back for something new! The bottom line is that, if you are looking for great food, great drinks, and a great atmosphere, Berger Bros. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and most of all fantastic food. Their menu includes some my favorites and a few that are not so run of the mill. All of which are very tasty and can only be found there. Chef Greg is very creative and knows what it takes to makes a great dish. His presentation is is remarkable. "The Holy Grail Cheese" (with Angus Beef patty), Chicken Fried Chicken and Lobster Mac and Cheese are my favorites. It's always a treat to dine there. read more

I really enjoyed this place, has a nice neighborhood feel to it, but more like something you'd expect to find in Chicago. Nice outdoor seating area and the bar was full when we arrived on a Weds evening in August. Our waitress was very attentive and we started off with a buffalo shrimp appetizer, really large shrimp with a lovely breading and layer of buffalo sauce. My wife and her daughter split a salad and some kind of vegetarian burger, they enjoyed both. I had the single smash burger with fried egg, which was really tasty, as were the accompanying house made BBQ chips. We also got a couple kids meals for the boys. My only minor complaint was having to ask for ketchup & mustard for my burger and ranch for the buffalo shrimp and chicken tendies - they must not be big on promoting their sauces. As a side note, my double Captain & Diets hit the spot. Looking forward to going back to try the po' boy and fish tacos. read more
