Been on a month long epic road trip, and this is the best food our family of 6 had eaten on the trip. We live in a city of 100k+ people and would love to have this place back at home in southern California . Prices extremely reasonable, food and service excellent. My wife had the pecan waffle, daughter the breakfast sandwich, son the cinnamon roll French toast, in-laws had pancakes & eggs, and I had breakfast burrito. We all loved our food. Stopped in here based on the reviews. As expected the employees were prompt and kind. Food was tasty. I got a chile verde omelette and my husband got the chicken fajita omelette. Both were very good. The serving sizes are big so be hungry when you come in. Also, the salsa is great. Get a side of it with your meal. read more

Have always loved this place until today. We arrived about 1045 and were seated at al little table by the door with high traffic. Asked to move to a booth, several were opened just not cleaned. As they were cleaned, they were filled. Our waitress never came back so we left. Will go back but will hope for the other wait staff who are awesome! read more

I just had breakfast and I didn't enjoy my experience. There were plenty of tables it wasn't too crowded. The food was okay but the service was terrible. I believe if you go in with a big crowd you get good service. If you are a solo diner, be willing to be forgotten. read more

Good place. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly. I needed to use Wifi for a while to work, and they were super friendly while I was hanging out. My omelette and pancakes were great - the pancakes are super light and fluffy. I had the meat lovers omelette but added chile. (The chile here is not that spicy). read more

We went in around 2 pm. about an hour before closing. Three tables had customers. We ordered a cheeseburger. The food was very good. The service was OK. But the low rating comes from having the staff do the deep cleaning while guests are eating their lunches. First they swept the floors, and then got out a wet mop and bucket and starting swabbing down the floors. My dining experience took a nose dive. Not professional and it basically shows the customer is not important, cleaning up to close is more important than business. I doubt I will go back. read more

If you want great green chili this is the place to go on Cortez. They have a large menu with a lot of great choices. They don't skimp on the serving size. Plenty of food at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We were in Cortez for a day and decided to come here for dinner. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Our waiter made some good recommendations for our son. My family had a cheeseburger, a patty melt, salad and chicken fingers. Everything was piping hot when it came out. Would consider coming here again if we ever happen to be in Cortez read more

Don't eat at Denny's, eat at Beny's! Great food and attentive service. We had the ham & cheese omelet that came with excellent home fries that were sliced to protection, plus they give you an additional side. We did the pancakes and they were yummy! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the place has more of a 'dive' feel and their restrooms could definitely use some updates. The woman's restroom was fairly run down and could use an overhaul. read more

Stopped at this diner today while traveling through Colorado. It was a great place for a quick (but not fast food) and delicious family meal. Good Mexican food plus good alternatives for the kids (mine dislike Mexican food). And yes portions are huge!! Service was great too! read more

Beny's Diner has exemplary service. Personable staff with prompt service. I had Huevos Rancheros, suffice to say it's probably the best I've ever had. If ever driving through Cortez, I would absolutely stop here again. read more

Very average location. Ordered biscuits and gravely, 2 over easy eggs, and a country fried steak. Came back with rye instead of the biscuits. The steak was definitely frozen beforehand instead of fresh and the eggs were a little under done. Nothing was horrible just average at best. read more

I feel a little duped after eating a disappointing omelette. Menu read "pork green chili sauce". However, there was no meat at all, just a cheese omelette with less than mediocre green chili sauce. The "chile verde omelette" may have just been a bad choice, but I am not sure I'd pay money to try again. Incredible service though. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! My son ordered the green Chile burrito with pork. He opened it up to see if there was any meat. No meat. No green chiles. All it had in it was refried beans and rice. I ordered a side of sliced avocados and they were like rubber. I spoke to the waitress and she was defensive and rude. She said she would get the manager but no manager ever came. She returns with the check giving us an 85 cent discount. I decided to take off the portion that was inedible and left the tab on the table. The waitress came chasing after and I said I would like to speak to the manager. Once again waiting and waiting for the manager only to find him as argumentative as the waitress! He claimed my son had eaten the burrito. Then the waitress starts speaking in Spanish telling the manager to call the police. Who's the manager? Wow! I just paid the tab and left. So much for the customers always right! read more

We had breakfast here this morning. Hubby had the Huevos Rancheros. I had the Huevos al Caballo (with cheese enchiladas). It is not easy to make once-over-easy eggs. They are usually undercooked and the whites are runny or overcooked and the yolks are not runny. Both dishes had perfectly cooked eggs. Everything tasted fresh and we almost licked our plates. This establishment has good food but the service and wait staff are the worst and unfriendliest I've ever seen we had gone in one Sunday to have dinner lunch after church there were no signs posted that they did not accept checks I went to pay for the meal by check it immediately got Outta tune the lady was telling me I had to wait I needed to leave my ID like we were some kind of criminal not to mention that from the time we got there the lady who waited on us was impatient unhelpful and expected us to do everything for her when I accidentally knocked over a cup of coffee I had to clean it up I had to go into the kitchen ask for towels come back out wipe the whole table down reset our table including cleaning the floor under the table the food was good but the whole experience with the staff keeps me from going back hopefully no one else gets the same waitress that I did they were very unfriendly when we came back with the cash to pay our bill it was a major inconvenience and there should have been signs posted all we got was nobody in town accept checks everywhere we eat accept checks I would not recommend this establishment to anyone read more
