Prior to hiring Colby, we had a two-bathroom house with just one functional bathroom. Colby came out to our house - a trek given his location - and gave us ideas, guidance, and perhaps most importantly, pointers on what not to do. It was clear that Colby's years of experience in the field make him extremely knowledgeable, both in terms of construction and design best practices, but also contacts for excellent vendors (shower glass door guy, carpenter, tile experts, etc.). We finished our large bathroom overhaul on time (6 weeks) and on budget for the labor. Here is a breakdown of our experience with Benton Builders: Response time/attentiveness: Colby is extremely responsive! He will get back to your questions, concerns, ideas within the day. Impressively, Colby remained attentive from pitching the project through completion, and even after completion. Unlike other contractors, Colby did not leave us hanging in the waning days of our remodel. Colby also came with me to pick the tile and countertops for the bathroom, which I greatly appreciated, and was able to provide a lot of helpful guidance with respect to selecting fixtures. Project build time: six weeks! I could not believe how quickly things moved. I expected the project to proceed long after the projected finish date, but it did not. Quality of the work: the work Benton Builders did is really top notch. Colby's team is awesome - the tile is exactly as I wanted it, the shower has been repaired from its previous, unusable state, and the whole look of the bathroom is even better than I expected. Budget: we agreed on a labor budget prior to starting the project, and Colby stayed within that budget. The only reason the project went over-budget is because I selected materials whose cost far exceeded my initial ideas! We hired Benton Builders to build an addition to our home. Colby came over, right on time and talked us through what a project with him and his company looks like. When started with the plans, Colby took the time to understand our vision and he really helped guide us here. Once we laid out our initial ideas, Colby kept us very involved in the planning process. He let us know quickly about cost adjustments whenever we made any changes to the plan and when the city made a correction that impacted the scope of the addition. The final estimate was right where he said it would be. We moved out during construction, but we heard from Colby daily. We always had our finger on the pulse in terms of how the project was progressing. Colby set expectations well.
