Bento-ria is bento-licious! It's located in an underground food hall called Kitchens on College on the edge of Colorado Boulder University. You'll definitely have to fend off some college kids to get your meal - but it was worth it. Or if you're like me, you can just throw on a hoodie and travel with a backpack to try and blend in lol. They have sushi rolls, poke bowls and other delicious Japanese delights. I noticed after I ordered my Spicy Shrimp Poke Bowl that they had Inari Sushi (Stuffed Fried Tofu Pouches). This will be a must-try for me next time I'm in. My wait was about 15 minutes. They actually have this cool ordering system that tells you how long you should be expected to wait. Mine was on the money! They serve their meals in grab and go containers, but you can definitely grab a seat in the food hall. There was plenty of seating for groups of 2, 4 and more. My personal recommendation is to grab and go... eat at Chautauqua Park. It's a four minute drive from Bento-ria with a gorgeous view of the Flat Irons. So how was the Spicy Shrimp Poke Bowl? For $10, it absolutely crushed expectations! The rice was seasoned well, the fish was quality and the sauce was banging like no one's business. I wish I lived closer, because I'd 100% be a regular here. Soooo in closing... Take my advice and the many other Yelper's who have vetted this spot out. Go.

Husband and I had just finished our hike and was looking for a nearby poke place. Bento was located in what I can only describe as a food hall. I was surprised to see just 2 shops open for a Saturday afternoon. We each got a Salmon Poke Bowl and a Fresh Salmon Roll. The portion and quality was fair when keeping price in mind. The poke bowl was more Korean inspired than Hawaiian. The salmon roll was delicious and definitely fresh, as described! Food took a little bit of time to come out, but that's understandable since they make it when you order it and there was an order before us. Staff was friendly. Definitely going to come back when we're in the area to try their other items! Plenty of seating inside. Street parking.

Omg this place is amazing. Found it off Yelp and it did not disappoint. We got the spicy shrimp poke bowl the spicy yellowtail poke bowl as well. This was incredible the flavors were amazing the price was super reasonable. The poke was $9 and it was the perfect serving size. I devoured the entire bowl and the spice hit me at the end. The spicy hand rolls were okay not my favorite. I would definitely go back.

sushi was really good, cheap and fast! they have gluten free soy sauce and plenty of options. unfortunately the miso soup was not gluten free :(. they were very nice and the atmosphere is great. also, free water! perfect for a college student craving sushi, most rolls are under or around $7/$8 my friends crunch roll was a 10/10. perfect late night drunk snack for later. my other friends dumplings were a 10/10, "amazing" . i also thought the rice to "inside" ratio was a little much, too much rice but i still enjoyed the rolls, i would just prefer less rice

Bento-ria you saved my life! I went on an unexpectedly LONG hike in Boulder on a Friday afternoon and afterwards I was famished and my belly was screaming "Feed me poke!" I listened and quickly searched for poke in the area and stumbled upon Bento-ria. Bento-ria is a small family owned business tucked away off the main drag of Broadway in Boulder. The parking lot is tiny so I'd definitely recommend carpooling or ordering delivery! Just so you know Bento-ria is in the right corner of the second floor of the complex so be sure to keep an eye out. For starters this place is very small and quaint so I don't recommend coming in groups of more than three or four at a time. The decor is very bright and yellow which I love! The menu is simple and they even provide pictures. I was a little thrown off that this wasn't the same "build your own" poke bowl type of place but I was easily sold with tuna poke bowl which came with a generous helping of tuna, crab salad, seaweed salad, kale, lettuce, avocado, a sweet sauce, AND a spicy aioli. But wait I almost forgot it is served with rice! My bowl was delicious and light (I ordered without rice), the prices were pretty great. It was especially awesome to not be charged extra for avocado! If you are in the area in search for a tasty treat I'd highly recommend stopping in!

Bento-ria is one of those hidden restaurants on the second level of this very hipster looking shopping center with affordable prices! Easier to park in the lot, though it's kind of tight, walk upstairs, you'll find the restaurant hidden to the right!! We had take-out only as this was in the earlier stages of Covid-19. We had the basics on what we usually get: The Philadelphia roll (Philly Roll) stuffed with cream cheese, (Which is my favorite fat in any raw seafood) and I loved the sound of smoked salmon, so this sounded like the way to go. It was actually the least of my favorite because the taste of the salmon seemed slightly off, but no harm done you know? My favorite was the Spicy California Roll; it caught my attention because it had spicy mayo on top. Steamed Dumplings are always my favorite, so I ended up enjoying this for sure.

First thing, I will agree with everyone that the folks who run this little place are talented, hardworking and incredibly friendly, sweet people. Pair that with tasty fresh food, you have a winning combination. It's a tiny place and they advertise as takeout and delivery. But there are 4 little tables in there. It was so clean and inviting, I opted to stay and eat everything freshly served. I knew they could be very busy at traditional student eating times so I intentionally chose off peak times. I was the only one eating in, but takeout was continuous. Seems to be a staff of 2 to 3. I have enjoyed each of the dishes I have tried. My first visit was for a tuna poke bowl. A note on other reviews, they now cube rather than chop the tuna. I'm ok either way, I've had both in the past, so long as it is fresh. It was. I chose medium spicy and it was right for me. I'm guessing you can get plenty of heat if you want it. My husband probably needs mild. The size was good for me but a hearty eater probably needs the upsized version for the surcharge. The seaweed salad in the poke bowl was so good that I ordered a side of it on my second visit. It was a good choice to balance with an order of eight crispy dumplings. I chose the pork, and it was served piping hot. Each of these little meals cost less than $10. There are not a lot of drink options in the self service frig, just a small selection of soda and canned tea but there is a nice (and free) hot or cold water dispenser too. After all, the majority of customers have lots of drink options at home. I'll be trying takeout too for a comparison. I'm close enough to get the hot items home without having to reheat, I think. And I will try the sushi at some point too. The location can be an issue for some. It is located in one of the most tired parts of the Hill blocks. It is on the second floor, hidden from street view. Access is by some outdoors, very old stairs by the balcony entrance. I will hope that someday they can have a better location without losing the charm or quality of their handmade food.

First and foremost, their service was friendly, welcoming, and filled with smiles and genuine interest to serve me as a paying customer. Just on this alone they have earned my business at least once again. The food was also great. Had the California Combo and the Tempura Udon. Took my meal to go and it was still excellent and tasty when I got home to Louisville. The portions were good. Nothing crazy huge but for the money they were definitely good size portions. Atmosphere wise it's pretty nice inside and very clean. Kind of a small space but excellent for a casual date or sushi with small group of friends. No complaints yet but will definitely write another review when I return. Great first experience! Edit 1: misspelled "date" :P read more

I'm from San Diego so trying sushi in Colorado is always a little bit of a risk.. but not with Bento-ria!! My sushi came out super fast, the workers were extremely nice and it is very reasonably priced (on the cheap side actually). The sushi tasted so fresh and yummy I was very happy with my meal and overall experience. This is my new go-to sushi place in Boulder, I highly recommend going here for cheap, great quality sushi!! read more

Bento-ria is the best kept secret in boulder on the hill, time and time again I am so impressed by how delicious, filling and fairly priced their food is. Bento-Ria is one of my favorite sushi places in Boulder. It is a tiny hole-in-the-wall type of place and it is a gold mine. The sushi here is super cheap and tastes amazing. From the outside it looks a little sketchy but inside it is a really clean and nice place. The owners are really nice and are always trying to make everyone happy. It was hard for me to imagine that Japanese-style food could be bad, but Bento-ria woke me to the reality. There was enough sugar in the unnecessary sauces to put a diabetic in a coma. The poke bowl and sushi were doused with them so thoroughly that I couldn't remove them from the food. The bowl was heaped with (also) unnecessary garnishes (sickeningly sweet from the sauces) better suited on a Mac burger that I could barely find the few pieces of salmon. What a disappointment on an evening that I had planned to treat myself to something really special. Most of my treat went in the trash. The price may look good but don't be fooled. This placed has been so Americanized that it has denied its true roots. read more

WORST DINNING EXPERIENCE! BUGS IN MY SOUP, I WAS TOLD IT WAS SEAWEED, SEAWEED DOESN'T HAVE WINGS!!!! I will start off saying I loved this place, until now!!! On Tuesday, I ordered food from them and it ended up being 1hour and 45 minute wait, they first called after being hour wait and said it was going to twenty more minutes (which ended up being 45 minutes) and when I expressed frustration, they pretty much hung up on me. I emailed HungerBuffs about it the next day and they said that Bento-ria had their own drivers and I had to deal with them, I didn't want to deal with it(I'm finishing grad school right now). The topper came today, when I opened the miso, which I just opened for first time and there were bugs/small flies in it. When I called to ask about a refund, because of the long wait time and bugs being in my soup. They first told me that there were not bugs in the soup and when I addressed that there were wings on the bugs and seaweed doesn't have wings, they said they would call me back, when I said that I didn't want more miso. The owner, then called back and spoke to me aggressively about my order and one point said HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO COME TO MY HOUSE AFTER HOURS TO DEAL WITH THIS. I said I didn't want that, I just wanted a refund. This is absolutely ridiculous!! read more

Their poke bowls are incredible. Definitely a hidden gem in Boulder. I really can't think of a better place in Boulder where you get high quality, fresh, tasty food for a fair price. Staff is always friendly and makes sure you're taken care of. Be careful though, once you try it you'll be hooked! read more

This place is awesome. Very reliable and inexpensive. I had the poke bowl and it kicks butt (for like 9 bucks). Its location is a little tucked away, but that's fine by me because if it was on the main drag on The Hill, it would be packed and probably wouldn't have the quality it has now. read more

It's important to rate Yelp businesses for what they are, and for a to-go oriented place, this sushi spot is great. Reasonable prices to say the least and very pleasant service if you want to sit down and scarf your rainbow roll. I often grab sushi and head back up to Estes Park since there are no sushi spots up there. It's not a romantic date spot with ambience, but it will satiate your sushi cravings! read more

The delivery is extremely slow. Be sure to order more than 1.5 hours ahead of time. I'm still waiting for my food, and they already doubled their estimate to nearly two hours (after the original estimated time passed by 20 minutes...). read more

Love this place! I have tried a number of sushi places in and around Boulder but this place outshines them all in terms of value, taste and quality of service. The Sushi always looks and taste fresh. If you enjoy sushi and don't want to pay ridiculously high prices some restaurants charge, put this place on your list. You won't be disappointed. read more

I visited from California and was craving poke. Having had a lot of poke in the past in Cali and Hawaii, my expectations for this place was low, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I got my go to salmon poke which was fresh and delicious. The food came out fast. Relatively cheap compared to what you'd pay in Cali and comes with a decent portion. The place is located in a small plaza with available parking. I'd come here again during my next visit to Boulder! read more

Excellent all around. Such a gem ! Service here is always courteous, it's a fast casual dining experience but the food is fantastic. Excellent food quality. Great pricing... A bit small for dining, but great take out option and they deliver. I love this place. Love the poke bowls the most. Fresh, hand crafted, fish is super fresh and they pack plenty of veggies and I love the sprouts.... Yum... Super tasty and great value. Rolls are great too. Great little place to come for quality food. Right off campus. Upstairs. Parking is limited. Not busy on the weekends but weekdays it gets a bit crazy. Lovely proprietors, a family run business....they care a lot and it shows. Definitely a top 5 place in Boulder for me! read more

Tell me why they don't have edamame, crispy tempura, crispy onions, like without crispy things u might as well order some mash potato slop because it's gonna be squishy as hell. Also the way they cut their cucumbers don't expect small crispy bites it's soggy too. Their sauces are bomb I respect the sauce but dam they are never fully stocked it's a shame. Every time I try to order food from here they're missing ingredients last time it was literal salmon I legit had to tell my man to walk out of the store I was so frustrated and am very hangry now lol idk where to get good poke someone please help me!!!! PS went to Rocky fin it was also TERRIBLE the public needs to know the truth about these places and the quality and consistency of ingredients. I understand supply chain issues but not having edamame for a poke bowl restaurant is insane go to a grocery store at least for ur product, my managers would go to Whole Foods when we ran out of product and did mark outs maybe u should try that

The process on how-it-works is located on the wall, but we both prefer in-person customer service. We ordered three rolls and one fountain drink for a total of $57 with tax.... I thought that was high for what we got. The service was fast and the ingredients were fresh. I'm glad I got the sauce on the side. My husband didn't care for the rolls because he said the seaweed was too fishy and he described them as "seaweed burritos". The rolls fell apart after we took off the aluminum foil. Also, just an FYI: three rolls were too many and we both would have been fine with one each but now we know for next time. Overall, I thought the food tasted good, the service was great, the price was high, and we would opt for bowls next time.

They're served with chopped bok choy with a light, fragrant glaze that has been itching to look for a knockoff recipe. We even brought most of the salad home as it was a large serving for a lunch. We'll be back on Sunday for our wings and other treats that we need to pick up.
