For employees appreciation day, my job had food trucks come out.I was so excited to try Bento Bus, but, sadly it did disappoint. At first I was wondering why the food looked so lightskinned (teriyaki is usually a darker brownish color). I reluctantly took a bite and it definitely was teriyaki. Service is great and whoever is manning the truck is always friendly so I love coming back. The food is delicious, affordable, and so much better than on campus dining. My go-to is the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl for $10.00. It comes with steamed white rice, chopped lettuce, soy beans, tempura crunch, shredded seaweed and their signature sauce. So I've since moved away from ATL, but let me tell you when I lived there this was my favorite food truck and I still dream of their tofu and chicken surritos ("sushi" burritos without raw fish). In 2014 and 2015 they used to frequent Georgia Tech's campus and even though I didn't have much money to eat out, I made it a priority to find this food truck and order their surritos. YES I THOUGHT IT WAS THAT GOOD. I still remember the first time trying their teriyaki chicken surrito with brown rice, cucumber, avocado, tempura crunch, shredded seaweed and sauce wrapped in a soy sesame wrap. The best way to describe this is imagine ordering a bento box meal and then then rolling up all those ingredients in a burrito. The chicken was well seasoned, a little tangy,savory and sweet, and tender. All these flavors were balanced by the fresh cucumber, avocado and creamy sauce. Together everything was mixed to form a wonderful fusion of umami and fresh flavors. It was absolutely delicious and I still hope the quality of their food is still as good as it was years ago. They had a limited menu today, but what I decided on was their Asian BBQ Steak Nachos ($7-$1 more for steak), which are Deep Fried wanton chips covered by lettuce, pico de gallo, roasted corn, queso cheese and a little sriracha. Flavors were good, beef wasn't tough, and veggies were super fresh. The Wanton chips were the thing I had a problem with. Tasty though they were, they really got soft very quickly, and couldn't really hold up the weight of any of the ingredients. I had to finish them off with a fork. Service was good and fast. I'm used to putting in an order at food trucks and taking 10 minutes or so to get my order, but they were yelling my name within 5 minutes. Nice enough people, really mediocre food, poorly organized and borderline irresponsible. Ordered food for pickup tonight at 6PM. Food was finally ready at 6:40. We tried the teriyaki chicken bowls, chicken teriyaki tacos, and edamame. I can make all of this at home far better than what they served... Sadly it was not worth the weight. One of the three people in the truck was not wearing a mask while preparing food. I really wanted to feel good about this food truck, even left a $10 tip in advance to help the operators. Yummy! I visited the Bento Bus at the Atlanta Food Truck Park Saturday afternoon, 4/5/14. I was attracted to the Surrito (Sushi fixings in a burrito), but I wanted to be able to eat it all in a bowl. The friendly staff said, "Well you could actually get our Rice bowl instead of the Surrito. It has everything the Surrito has except for the cucumber and avocado, and I can put the cucumber and avocado in your bowl for you." Awesome service! The food was super tasty. Our community has been allowing several food trucks to set up for us throughout the week. This was my first time seeing this food truck and decided to partake in what they had. They were like an Asian fusion type of truck. The menu included Asian tacos, Asian nachos, edamame and etc. I ended up ordering the teriyaki Asian chicken nachos which come in full and half. I wanted to grab a ginger lemonade but they didn't have it which was really disappointing since it was on the menu. I walked back to my apartment and opened up the meal. In the spirit of combining a burrito and a sushi roll (although without the fish), this is cheap Asian fusion at its best. The outer layer is much thinner than a traditional tortilla and is sprinkled with sesame seeds, similar to a sushi roll. On the inside, you get to choose different proteins. Went up to "Truck and Tap" in downtown Woodstock last night and absolutely loved the food. For those unfamiliar with Truck and Tap, they invite a food truck to their location, and they serve beer so you can enjoy your meal with a cold beer. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak tacos and chicken nachos. The sauce was just about perfect and the fried wontons add a level of texture to the food which really set it off.
