We've been taking our pup Barkevious here for exactly one year now, since we transitioned him from his puppy food given to him from the rescue agency at three months old until we made a decision when he was a year old to put him on a grain free diet. I would say we are regular customers here. We love the reward program for his food we buy there. The 12th bag of food purchased is free, but make sure to save all the receipts in an envelope provided to you. This place not only knows how to treat their human customers well, they also treat four legged fur kids with love as well. My pup is always given treats here when we enter. Today was his 2nd birthday (I bought a bunch of chewy's for the pup today) and the girl( I don't know her name) tried to help me in finding a grain free bakery item. Unfortunately, all bakery items have grains so she helped me pick out one with the least amount of grain (it is his birthday so I spoiled him today for his yearly bakery treat). She wrapped it up so nicely with a Happy Birthday ribbon and told me it was on the house. So sweet and is the reason why we ALWAYS come back to this place. Came in today because my usual Bentleys was too far away . I thought the store was closing because it was pretty bare . I was told that they are mostly just doing special order because of a change in companies . High quality dog food. That's what you go here for. Make no mistakes about it, you're going to pay for good stuff. This is not Petco. Now that we've got that cleared up - I am SUPER-Dee-Duper STOKED that this location has finally opened! I've been driving to Arlington Heights for a looong time now, and am thankful that is over. This place is like 3 blocks away! This is a totally do-able lunch errand. I am over the moon happy they picked this spot for their new location! For those of you who aren't familiar, they've got a location in Arlington Heights that was the original, and then they opened a location in Schaumburg, and this is their 3rd location. It's in the little shopping area by Sunset Foods. They've got a nice amount of space to work with. It's organized neatly. The store is bright and fresh and new. And the help was friendly! In additon to the food, they've got some cute little stuff to shop for: leashes, clothes, booties, beds etc - but please note they do not focus on the boutique-shopping, their focus is on food. The've got a very nice selection of healthy dog food - minus all the *crap* and additivies that are hurting our pets. I go here specifically mostly for Stella & Chewies frozen raw food. I also buy kibble. They carry great treats, and also supplements. LOVE the coconut oil i get here. Overall - a GREAT place to shop. Do your doggie a favor and start buying good food. The folks here are usually pretty knowledgeable both on the types of food as well as different brands. 5-stars. read more

A friendly staff member greeted us as soon as we came in the door, along with an adorable little dog with very big ears. They have a good variety of dog and cat food, treats, toys and accessories. When told it was our first visit she asked if we have a cat or dog. We were given a gift bag for our cat with some food and treats. We had some questions about the cat food offered, based on our cat's preferences and I was impressed that the staff really seemed to know what was in the bags and where it came from. Our cat really seems to like the food and treats we brought home and we will be back. I just wish they carried supplies for my parrot. read more

We're BIG fans of the Arlington Heights and Schaumburg Bentley's Corner Barkery locations, so naturally when I was stuck in rainy day traffic yesterday and happened upon this new location, I had to pull over and see what was crackin' inside. Verdict: Still unmatched as the best boutique pet shop in the 'burbs. Each location of Bentley's is similar but different and have their own unique flair, thought most of the products are the same -- which is still a great thing because they carry high-quality products at still affordable prices. A vast majority of the store is devoted to dogs with feline stuffs being in the minority, but a very thoughtful minority with smart products, placement, and selection. They specialize in carrying food, treats, toys, etc from local manufacturers. Gotta love that! I will say that the cat section is a bit more cramped here than at the other two locations, but this location was a bit better stocked and one of the girls working noticed my perusing the cat section and gave me a bunch of free samples (which they do for all first time customers of the brand) even though I'm a regular at their two other stores. Plus, the "samples" she gave me were actually four full-size food products. Could not love this place more and even though I officially spend more money on cat food than my own food each week, I'll continue to shop at all Bentley's Corner Barkery locations because they continually exhibit their passion for pets and love for making my little ones happy buggers. read more

I am able to find the dog food brand I trust most here at Bentleys. my dogs love the fromm brand and I love it too because it is made in Wisconsin near my home town. I am so glad I found this place. I also have purchased bones and treats. All of them are high quality and the consumer (my dogs) love when we bring a bag full of Bentleys goodies home. My favorite thing is the homemade cookies. They are cute and always in fun shapes. Today I got dolphins! I highly recommend this place if you want good quality dog food/treats/toys. read more

I just talked to Lisa, the owner of Bentley's. She couldn't have been nicer or more concerned about what happened to me, at her Long Grove store. She apologized, and wanted to make everything right. After talking to her, I know she feels terrible about the incident, and hopes that I will reconsider going back to Bentley's again. The end result was, a very heartfelt apology, from Lisa, a hope from her that I would continue to shop at Bentley's, and that she was going to put a credit on my account (which I tried to discourage). I really appreciate her getting back to me ASAP. Because of her concern and being so nice, Arnie my little Morkie,, and I will probably go back into another Bentley's! I used to go to this location at least once a week to buy my German Shepherd his raw food. They have a program where if you buy a certain number of bags, you get one free. Almost half of the time the employees would forget to enter my purchases into their computer for the loyalty program and I would end up calling the store to ask them to please add them. The last time I visited the store, the manager asked me if we had been keeping up with adding my purchased food into the program. I told her that I did not know, I had not checked recently, but I hoped so. And then she looked at me and said in a very rude and condescending tone, " well I am sure you will remind us if we haven't." I was totally appalled. I spend a lot of money at Bentley's, but I will now be taking my business elsewhere and I will not be recommending Bentley's to any of the pet loving people that I know going forward. This was not the first time that one of the employees was rude to me, hence my decision to post a review. read more

A day off to finally stop by "Bentley's Corner Barkery"! I had seen this store on one of my routes & had been wanting to stop & see what they are all about. The name was what intrigued me. I thought, Yay, "fresh pet food / treats," could be fun! So honestly, I was a lil disappointed to see the name change when I finally did stop. I thought sigh.. it's just pet stuff? Wonder what changed? "stuff" made me afraid it wouldn't be what I had thought. Well, my disappointment stopped there. There were several brands of fresh pet foods. The sales staff was very attentive, & greeted me right away. They answered a bunch of my questions and offered up welcome bag of treats, & even food samples for our pets! The only reason for losing a star.. I did find it took me a lil more time to find things because of a lack signage, & some things had no prices shown. After awhile you just stop asking. Noted too: They are not cheap.. But I honestly think a few dollars more gives you a healthier pet. So yea.. the reality is ..You get what you pay for. Overall, I'm still disappointed about the name change, but happy to find a retailer with a heart for service & one with frequent buyer incentives. I've heard so many good things about this place, and I was excited when the Long Grove location opened. Last night I finally got to check it out! I want to classify this place as a Whole Foods for dogs. Many different treats and food that are all natural, and many organic choices. There are varieties for any dog with different food allergies and preferences. I got my dog a pack of baked liver biscuits, that I must say he loved and wouldn't walk away from me the rest of the night because he wanted more! Asides from the food there are many toy choices, scratchers, and many more things that I didn't catch because there is just so much good stuff :-) The service is great. A sales girl asked me if my dog has any food allergies and proceeded to give me a bag of samples :-) When we run out of the liver treat I will for sure be back to get more treats! read more

I don't have any pets, but I visited this place to buy a birthday treat for a relative's dog. The experience I had was really positive. If I had pets, I would definitely frequent this place. The workers were really friendly and helpful. I can't believe their baked treats are also okay for human consumption! My cousin--the relative that owns the dog which is who the treat is for--is sooooo particular with the food she gives her dog and the treat I bought from here past the test! The place did get busy when I visited and they only had a few workers available to help, so a couple customers had to wait awhile for assistance. Good for them not so good for customers in a rush. read more

I started coming here in Fall of 2013. I always go to the Long Grove location, which is 5 mins from my home. I was there for over an hour the first time I went! One of my dogs was with me, and he was like a kid in a candy store :) I still continue to go there, even tonight I went and met a new guy who was friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome customer service for both the owners and our doggies :))) There is never a time that I go there that I am dissatisfied or disappointed in anything. It is my go to place for Fromm, which I love for my Kooper, especially since it's made in Wisconsin. It is now and will continue to be my one stop place for my fur baby. Thank you!!! read more

Best place ever. Been going to the Arlington hts store for almost 6 years and when they opened this one up I started going there. They have very knowledgeable staff. Great prices, best treats and food around. My furbabies won't let me go anywhere else because they know everytime they get great stuff. I find it funny that they all remember are furbabies names and ask about them, almost as if they are the ones spending the money. But that just shows how much they care. It's more like a family one you go there than going to a store. When I don't bring with the babies I get a talking to because they miss them. And my pups know the look of the bag from them so well, that as soon add I walk in the door I get the evil look of why didn't wet go with dad, than they see what I got them than they ok with it. read more

I was at sunset foods when I decided to drop by bentleys. It's a very nice store but not a big selection/ variety on different price ranges of food. If you want to pay top dollar then go here. At the recommendation of a friend, I went to Bentleys in Long Grove in the hopes their product(s) might help in weaning my beloved Doberman off her allergy medication. The sales representative was amazing, she was patient and answered all my questions, offered suggestions and even provided some samples to try first. First i want to say this reviews is months after my one visit. I really want to love this store! Okay pros and cons time including my first visit. First my visit was ok. I was shocked to see as usual a huge dog area but small tiny cat area. They say they can order but couple MONTHS later and no call for my cat food. Obviously i moved on. Ladys were very nice and the whole middle finger to the big industry vibe in their is awesome as i hate petco and petsmart now. I love that as far as i can tell they only provide quality but (expensive) food with what little they have here. I love the return policy which i never used obviously but none the less and that they give samples. Smart business btw. It is sad when i say to a company PLEASE sell more cat related items so you can take all my money and be rich. I would love to spend all my money at your store. Very sad. Pros are service in store. Samples. Quality food. Nice on the eyes. Caring people. Cons are tiny cat area. Only expensive quality food. No medium priced same quality food. I adopted a lhasa apso, 4 yo, with multiple medical issues. I didn't know how many problems she had but the family that was giving her up was going to put her down vs. correct the medical problems. An inbred puppy mill dog. Allergies, sensitive stomach, struvite stones, I can go on but she has the most amazing loving personality. I must say the staff here has helped me so much - giving me samples to find the right dog food, and being willing to answer questions, and I was surprised they were not over priced vs other pet stores. In fact, canned pumpkin was cheaper here than Pet Supplies Plus. If this dog makes it, given her health issues, I will be a customer forever. I was a skeptic about these types of stores but it is great to have knowledgeable people help you. read more
