Not many people take the time to write good reviews or single out a good employee to management, and in today's world, since it's far and few between, most reviews and letters, emails, Facebook posts, whatever, are negative. I feel it is time to put the truth out there and help people understand it's a two way street.
Bentley Ridge is a very nice community. However, it's not just one single thing. Like a person, it is complex. Perhaps that's why they call it an Apartment Complex! It combines old Villages that are a bit run down, with brand new modern apartments, and everything in between. So, it's impossible to say one single thing good or bad, and it's about perspective.
Someone living in an old Village townhouse or apartment will not have the same maintenance issues as someone living in a brand new apartment. It's just a fact. Another fact is, it always takes two to tango, and the Lessor/Lessee historical relationship has/is not going to win any championships any time soon. It's alway quite contentious. So, before you make a complaint; before you go off the handle; before you bitch and moan; and before you go online to write a terrible review, and even single out people by name; Keep this in mind. 'You Catch More Flies with Honey, than Vinegar.' And, The Golden Rule still applies to every aspect of life. Even though many think the new 'Golden Rule" is 'Those who have the Gold, make the rules,' and, it's hard not to believe that these days; the real Golden Rule; 'Do Unto Others, as You Want Them to Do Unto You,' never grows old or goes out of fashion.
The ladies in the management office at Bentley Ridge, and the men on the maintenance staff are very, very nice and helpful people. They are just doing their jobs. They work for a big company that owns the place, not for themselves. They work hard, and are very friendly, forthcoming, and responsive, if you just know how to deal with people, and put yourselves in their shoes for a moment. They have many tasks to do, and are always busy with many things you don't even realize they have on their plates. They don't just do one thing. They are asked to handle a multitude of tasks, many of which are maddening and difficult, and they sit and stand and do all of this in an open area where distractions are the norm. At any random time, an angry resident may just interrupt their train of thought. It's not as simple as it appears, and it's not easy on them. They have to go from deep concentration on their computers, to all of a sudden smiling like a Greeter at a Restaurant or Casino; all smiles and ready to offer you anything and everything. So, please be considerate. Please give them a fair chance to really understand your issue and/or problem, so a good and fair solution can be worked out that benefits both sides mutually. Then, and only then, will you have enough data from both sides, and hopefully more than one single data point or complaint, to write a fair review of them, or any person, place or thing you encounter. And, finally, please refrain from name calling, using a person as a scapegoat, or mention individual names, because if it were reversed and you were that person on the other side, think about how you would feel, and what you would want to do about it.
A little kindness, goes a long way. I like living here. I want to live here a very long time, and have already. It's a very nice community and place to live. Most of what is said, heard, or written about is not true. Yes, there are problems and issues, but where have you lived, worked, visited, shopped at, or banked at, where there wasn't? Be Kind. You will be amazed at the results you will get. read more
