After visiting the nearby John Deere Pavilion we were looking for a place for lunch. A local on the street recommended this spot. After a quick peek at some Yelp reviews we decided to give it a try. It wasn't too busy so we were able to secure a booth. The waitress wasn't exactly attentive so it took a bit to get our order placed. They had a good beer selection and I tried a 1/2 pint of their German pilsner which was solid. My wife ordered their Wednesday burger basket special for $8 which was a good deal and correctly cooked medium rare. The order of tots that came with it was very good and huge. I was really excited to order their home smoked pastrami but was informed they were out of it. Rats! I eventually settled on their brisket barge which was smoked brisket on a pretzel roll with fried cheese curds on it. A real Wisconsin touch! The spicy coleslaw was different and I really like it. The burger basket was a steal and the brisket was typical of prices these days. The food was a thumbs up!

For some reason, this restaurant does not show up high on the search results, but it seems to be one of the better options downtown. Good variety of choices, with creative and flavorful food. I got the Turkey Melt on this trip. Really fresh and well flavored chunks of meat, and great dark greens, cheese, and other toppings. The slaw is very unique and tasty! My wife got the pulled pork. It's a mess of a sandwich, that she ended up eating mostly with a fork. It was very tasty and she got the beans for her side. They were very brown sugary and delicious. Servers help each other and the food came out very, very, quickly. Decent bar liquor choices and of course, lots of their beers. Nice outdoor patio and a big bar, with additional table seating. A group of 16 or so came in after us and they got their food quickly as well. Great service, food, and very reasonable prices.

Checked out this cool brewery in downtown Moline. It's more about the beers, but there's also food like pizza. Bent River has a couple locations, with the other one in Rock Island. Probably this one is better because it's bigger and open later. The prices are pretty comparable to other craft breweries it seems. A lot of times it's busy. It's a pretty good sign. There's a large draft selection. It's about $7 a pint. Pretty good for local beers, so we got a few of these. American Wheat is a classic. It's a medium ABV at 5.0%. There's also a pretty okay food selection. It's about $8 for shareable appetizers. The Chips And Salsa are good with anything to be honest. Great brewery that's also a restaurant where they also cook everything. It has many items as far as beer and food. The food is mostly meaty stuff like brisket, but there's other things like pretzels.

Tried hard to not get bent out of shape for a few reasons... It was Memorial Day. It was super nice out. Half the city was closed for the holiday. I was in town for the day and wanted to grab some beers at a local brewery to celebrate the holiday and my birthday. We popped in to a fairly busy brewery and decided to sit out back in the patio area after deciding sitting inside was just too silly to do on such a beautiful day. Our waitress informed us after we sat down that there was an hour wait for food. Cassey and I decided to stay and wait. We picked out a few beers to get and were told that those kegs were tapped out. So we had to pick our 2nd or 3rd best option. Cassey got an Uncommon stout (I think) and I got the Mississippi Blonde. Before I got that, I did inquire about the Jalapeno Pepper ale and the waitress brought me a sample. I love me some Jalapeno and this was just like drinking jalapeno peppers. It was good but not something I wanted 16 ounces of. The Mississippi Blonde was good, if a bit light on flavor and weight. After a few beers and tons of conversations, we asked the waitress about food and were finally able to order an appetizer. We got some chips and dip to start with and then grabbed burgers once our waitress gave us the thumbs up that a meal was good to order. The chips and dip were pretty tasty. Normally I prefer salsa to queso for tortilla but once I tried the queso... I was in love. I don't know what they put in it but it was amazingly tasting. I grabbed just a basic plain burger with pepperjack cheese and french fries. Cassey got the patty melt with sweet potato fries, I think. After the long wait, the food was much needed and much welcomed. The french fries were extra crispy and how I typically like them. The burger itself was good if not a bit weird with the pretzel bun and I only cheese as a topping. Without lettuce or tomato to add some juice to the meat and bun, it was a bit dry but that's my own doing as that's how I... for some reason... ordered the burger. All that said, it was a very random day of dealing with small hiccups but with only chilling and hanging out on our schedule, it didn't derail how much we got to catch up and just shoot the breeze.

Driving through the quad cities it was my job to find a great spot for lunch...and this was it! Not only do they brew their own beers, they also smoke their own meats and have a great variety of menu items to choose from! My husband had the Uncommon Patty Melt with house pastrami , grilled onions, Swiss cheese & Boetge's (mustard) on rye with a large side of hot & crispy tater tots. I had the Brisket Barge sandwich: house-smokedbrisket with house bbq sauce and cheese curds on a pretzel bun. Staff was super friendly...3 waitresses stopped by to help us decide what to order as well as check on us. Highly recommend!

Started with the Undercurrent IPA. And decided on the fish and chips. Tried the pickles. Everything was tasty and that included the cole slaw and fries! Ether than your standard fare bar food.

Jalapeño Pepper Jalapeno Pepper Ale Nachos

We added chicken. They give you a ton of food and it is a 10 out of 10. The pickled onions are very good.

Favorite to place to go in Moline. From beers to a combo of appetizers, it's my partners and I's happy place. The vibe is always a good one. Service is usually stellar and quick. If they aren't, they notice themselves and apologize which happens not much elsewhere. Great wings, pretzels and nachos.

Our server was friendly and attentive. The food came out hot and tasted delicious! The seating area is in another room from the long bar. The tables and chairs seemed like they could be updated but were comfortable. The food tasted like it was all freshly prepared and not frozen (I.e. the chicken tenders tasted and felt like real strips of chicken breast that were cut, buttered and then fried). The salad was an awesome size! Overall prices seemed appropriate for the quality and quantity. Would recommend and will be back.

Super impressed by this place! The service, food, and presentation was awesome. Everyone really enjoyed what they had. The beer was great as well with some flavors that were unique like the jalapeno ale. It was gorgeous on the inside as you can see with all of the wall paintings. I would definitely stop back next time we are in town!

Smoked Turkey Wrap with a side salad

For a main dish I had the Brisket Barge with sweet potato waffle fries. The pretzel bun was a nice touch, and loaded with cheese curds. The serving size was good. My wife had the Smoked Turkey Wrap with a side salad (extra for a salad for a side vs picking fries). We had a beer flight of the oatmeal stout, cherry wheat, jalapeño ale, Hefeweizen, harvest ale, and sweet potato. We both enjoyed the harvest Ale the most. We will be back.

Great bar with that local vibe, great brews and friendly staff that serves up great Aloha! 80's Rock puts you into a great vibe and the beer here is outstanding! Cheers!

Heavy metal riffage in a ice cold glass…read more To round out a day of exploring the Quad Cities, Emily and I dropped into Wake Brewing to have a beer and a few rounds of Uno and a few other card games to relax before the drive. I didn't look into the place before we stopped here so I assumed it was either surfer-themed or was attached to a coffeehouse. Little did we know it was a heavy metal/groove metal nanobrewery. I thrive on heavy metal so perfect for me, not so much for Emily. There were about 10 beers on tap to pick from so I got the Midlife Crisis (fitting as I near 40) and Emily got the Green Mind. The place was filled with what felt like the regulars so we took a spot over in a corner to drink one last beer before the road and play some card games in my 'pub kit' as seen in the cover photo above. My pub kit is a simple plastic container I got from Walmart that is full of quick and easy games to play at breweries, coffeehouses, or wherever you are. It just happens to be plastered in stickers from my travels. Anywho, back to the topic at hand. I really liked Wake Brewing. I have been into IPAs lately and tried a West Coast one for the first time. It was tasty but since I've been drinking hazy or tropical ones, it didn't quite hit like I am used to but that's on me and not the beer itself. Emily really liked her gose beer. I was eyeing the other IPAs on the menu but with a 2 hour drive back, I didn't want to delay us getting home before too late. While we sat there, some really nice groove metal was playing. It reminded me of Tool but less technical and more foot tapping. Shazam said it was King Buffalo and I'll have to check them out once life settles down a bit. If the heavy metal scene scares you, don't be intimidated. Most metal heads are big nerds and are some of the chillest people around. We didn't stick around too long but I wish we had. I loved the entire vibe of this place and would've liked to try some of their other beers. They do have some merch for sell, so you know Emily and I got all their stickers for this trip. If luck finds us back here again, I will def get a shirt. Anything to support heavy metal (and beer). As a side note, do know that trying to park here had me miss the parking lot's few entrances quite a few times. So, if it's your first time, be vigilant of the weird layout and multiple entrances. Rock on!

Not jerks, just folks tired of dealing with idiots, and they don't know yet if you are an idiot. The smashburger food truck screwed up my order so was only able to eat half the food I ordered, but not really Wake's fault. The vide was nice, I loved the industrial patio. If I were in town longer, I would have made another visit. Worth stopping by if you are a brewery person!

It looks like a typical sports bar/restaurant. What sets it apart is the quality of the food. With our most recent visit, we went at an off-peak time between lunch and dinner. The place was relatively empty. Service was timely. For an appetizer, we had fried pickles. These looked like they were cut, battered, and fried in-house and were good. For my entree, I had the Zombie Invasion Burger. They advertise it as possibly the best burger on the planet. I don't know if I would endorse it being the best on the planet, but it's definitely one of the better burgers I have had. It's a gourmet-type burger, pairing sweet with some zing. The fries were standouts as well. They weren't particularly fancy, but they were well seasoned (just salt and pepper) and based on the quality, I am guessing they were cut in-house and fried to order. My wife had a Mediterranean salad, which she liked. I did not try any of it, but I have had a salad there before (Plantation Salad) and thought it was pretty darned good. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. This was good. It wasn't necessarily great, but I left happy. Overall, the food here is really good and the prices are appropriate.
