    Bavarian pretzel

Located by a sports complex so expect teams to be here. Got seated right away at high tops & atmosphere is super casual with a great beer selection. Bathrooms clean, empty garbage & toiletries well stocked! Waitress was great with suggestions & very attentive & friendly! Food looks good & will be back to try more of the menu. Got the huge pretzel which was hot , big as your head & not overly salted. Crispy outside & hot and soft inside! In a new area with lots of good places to eat but highly recommend not passing this place up! Good menu selection with something for everyone.

Nashville Hot chicken and waffles with an apple and cinnamon butter. (I think)

Somewhere between a four and a five is where I would put this great find in Iowa. YESSSS!!! Iowa!!!! Recommended by a colleague - a local who had been there before - and it far exceeded the expectations. Honestly, I never thought I would find food this eclectic and delicious anywhere in Iowa. We had a dip, with goat cheese atop, to start with grilled bread. It was warm an decadent. I think it had just been added to the menu and we told the staff that it was a keeper. There were three of us dining and we all ordered three different things. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken and waffles. The other side of the tables locked in on the steak fajitas and a giant pretzel with cheese dipping sauce. My dish came and I was pleased to find a boneless, perfectly seasoned piece of chicken sharing the plate with a homemade waffle....actually 2 homemade waffles. (I was thrilled to find a second waffle hiding under the first one because it was really good. The waffle was seasoned by a professional and the flavored butter was the perfect condiment. The chicken was spicy...a kick but not overbearing. The flavors were so en pointe, I did not use the syrup. I tasted the fajitas (with the fresh jalapeño slices next to it.) and there were worth the food coma that I knew was coming. All in all, I enjoyed the food immensely. If you are ever near this spot, take the time. It's worth it!!!

    Nachos with pork belly

We ordered the a flight consisting of four beers (Pumpkin Pylon, Red Red Redemption, Ryetoberfest, and Shadow Density #4EO). Ryetoberfest was my fav. We also ordered Twin Span Nachos with pork belly. The chips good, but the queso was more like a cheese sauce and the pork belly tasted by Chinese boneless spareribs. So if you like that flavor combination you're on to a winner. My wife and I on the other hand didn't like that flavor combination. Live music was good.

What we received for the Brisket Sandwich. These looks like chopped beef and not slices of brisket. Not worth $19.

I'm torn. Our first order was pickup and the staff was very attentive, meaning multiple people asked if I'd been helped yet. We waited less than 5 minutes when we arrived for our order that we'd called ahead. Food was tasty but nothing crazy. Tonight we ordered delivery. The chicken sandwich was a repeat so no surprises there. But, the $19 brisket sandwich was minuscule for the price. More bread than "brisket". The photo online shows a sliced brisket sandwich, but what we received was a (delightful) bun with 2, maybe 3 tablespoons of chopped beef. I thought Twin Span was a little more refined in terms of service and quality control, so for the $70 we spent (food, delivery, & tip) this was a bust for me.

Hello This place is very new! It has a nice trendy and open look to it! The staff is super friendly. The bartender waited on me. She was great! Great hire and keep up the great work. Go in and try their beers. I had the Whole Hog Burger- nicely seasoned, the pork belly is amazing and the bacon they use is great!! The only reason for a 4 star is the size of the burger. It was plenty for for me but for the price I feel it might push people away. Oh and a nice hand made burger patty addition. I feel the patty was a frozen one. They fries are Amazing! Go check it out!! I will be back to try more in their menu!!

Great waitress, great food, and great environment. I really have no issues here. The waitress and staff were very inviting from walking in the door. The beer flight that I had some great picks. I would recommend the s'more stout and strawberry ipa. I am not a fan of an ipa or strawberries but I guess when it's mixed together they work for me! The loaded fries where delicious and a great bar snack.

From salads, to tacos, to burgers, to brews, you're going to want to go! The Moho tacos were yummy and the homemade tortilla chips and cheese dip were a great pairing. The burgers were spot on. Juicy and LARGE. The fries are real. Eat inside if you like. Eat outside if your littles need room. Service was great. Oh and the brews were quite nice. It's amazing what you will find in the cornfield.

    Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Kind of weird they won't put fried chicken on a salad, considering they have fried chicken tenders on the menu.

Heavy metal riffage in a ice cold glass…read more To round out a day of exploring the Quad Cities, Emily and I dropped into Wake Brewing to have a beer and a few rounds of Uno and a few other card games to relax before the drive. I didn't look into the place before we stopped here so I assumed it was either surfer-themed or was attached to a coffeehouse. Little did we know it was a heavy metal/groove metal nanobrewery. I thrive on heavy metal so perfect for me, not so much for Emily. There were about 10 beers on tap to pick from so I got the Midlife Crisis (fitting as I near 40) and Emily got the Green Mind. The place was filled with what felt like the regulars so we took a spot over in a corner to drink one last beer before the road and play some card games in my 'pub kit' as seen in the cover photo above. My pub kit is a simple plastic container I got from Walmart that is full of quick and easy games to play at breweries, coffeehouses, or wherever you are. It just happens to be plastered in stickers from my travels. Anywho, back to the topic at hand. I really liked Wake Brewing. I have been into IPAs lately and tried a West Coast one for the first time. It was tasty but since I've been drinking hazy or tropical ones, it didn't quite hit like I am used to but that's on me and not the beer itself. Emily really liked her gose beer. I was eyeing the other IPAs on the menu but with a 2 hour drive back, I didn't want to delay us getting home before too late. While we sat there, some really nice groove metal was playing. It reminded me of Tool but less technical and more foot tapping. Shazam said it was King Buffalo and I'll have to check them out once life settles down a bit. If the heavy metal scene scares you, don't be intimidated. Most metal heads are big nerds and are some of the chillest people around. We didn't stick around too long but I wish we had. I loved the entire vibe of this place and would've liked to try some of their other beers. They do have some merch for sell, so you know Emily and I got all their stickers for this trip. If luck finds us back here again, I will def get a shirt. Anything to support heavy metal (and beer). As a side note, do know that trying to park here had me miss the parking lot's few entrances quite a few times. So, if it's your first time, be vigilant of the weird layout and multiple entrances. Rock on!

The IPA I had was solid, and the barrel aged barleywine I bought to take home was outstanding. Staff are a little gruff, but no more so than some places. Not jerks, just folks tired of dealing with idiots, and they don't know yet if you are an idiot. The smashburger food truck screwed up my order so was only able to eat half the food I ordered, but not really Wake's fault. The vide was nice, I loved the industrial patio. If I were in town longer, I would have made another visit. Worth stopping by if you are a brewery person!
