Great food, had appetizers that were delicious, and took advantage of the patio to bring the pup out with us.

You want great beer and BBQ, you need to stop here. We were in from out of town and were recommended this place by a local. Boy were they right. Amazing place. Loved the sampler platter and tested a few beers. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely stop back when we're in the area.

Going on a drive back home, we made sure to go through Stockton and check out this brewery. It may seem like this small town has nothing interesting, but this place is one to look into. Mud Run has to be one of the nicest places around here, and it certainly has the best beer obviously. Also there's food. This isn't just bar crap either but some great stuff. At first this looked like it would be pretty small inside. It turned out it was a lot bigger than we thought, and it was more modern. There's a classy yet casual brightness, and the beer list is on a flat screen TV. Beers are the main thing of course. It's about $7 a pint. The best one of these we had was the Blackhawk Road. It's the flagship lager. This has a light body and clean finish, a good one for thirst quenching. Food was better than expected. It's a lot of barbecue, but there's a few vegetarian options. It's about $7 for the Chips And Black Bean And Corn Salsa. A big portion for an appetizer. This had a good kick. Be sure to get something from this brewery if you're around here. It's located about a mile from Route 20 on Main Street. There's a variety of beers, and there's food, featuring barbecue, but there's some choices for vegetarians.

I always dine here when I'm in town!! Hit this place up if you're looking for a nice chill spot and amazing food and drinks.

I always stop by here when I'm in town. The wings here were insanely phenomenal the quesadilla and burger were also really good. If you're looking for a nice, chill, relaxing spot to have a drink or eat some really good food. This is the spot.

Food and beer was outstanding! We saw this place advertised on the road while headed to Galena so thought we would stop in, and I'm so glad we did! Thank you for the great experience!

    Ed was good too!

First of all - I'm a Coca-Cola girl so I have to deduct 1/2 a star. Other than that this place is WONDERFUL! Love the beer selection, the nachos were delicious! Three (3) floors & outdoor patio so if you have a large group there's plenty of room in the town in Stockton, Illinois. Order at the bar and Meghan (sorry if I misspelled her name) was the best. I got to sample a couple beers and found so many likes. Great place for lunch or dinner less than a mile off of Route 20! Another new favorite!

Mud Run Beer is a hidden gem. This is not your typical farm town bar and grill. First things first: the beer. Whatever they're doing, keep doing it because we tried 4 very different beers, and they were all great. The nitro stout is smooth. The amber is summery and bright. The red ale is balanced and refreshing. And even the IPAs aren't too hoppy. They also serve up some good food. It's hard to find vegetarian options at bbq spots, but I was surprised by the number of options on the menu. Frankly, I would come back just to order their french fries and coleslaw! We got the southwest salad, which exceeded my expectations. The jalapeño poppers are delicious, served with a spicy jammy dipping sauce. The pork nachos were packed with flavor and toppings. And my family reported that the pork slider and pork sandwich were excellent. They have multiple BBQ sauces to choose from as well. We sat on the back patio -- a nice spot to grab a meal. On the whole, Stockton, IL has a new go-to spot for great craft beer and delicious food.

It gets crowded because people around here know good beer it seems. Along with the beers is also a food menu. The prices are higher than the grubby bars in town, but for sure it matches the higher quality. Better get prepared for how hard it is to park here. It's got a parking lot but it's full often. This was crazy the last time we came here on a weekend. People around here know it's better beer than the crap they otherwise have. You may have to park on a street. Beers are pricier than average but they make smaller batches. It's about $8 a pint. Best of the ones we had was the Highland Hairy. This is a Belgian IPA. A pretty good amount of food. There's a ton of pizzas. Most food choices are meaty. There's also wings. A lot of big and messy items. It's about $7 for the Garden Salad. A pretty standard one with croutons. There's also salads covered in bacon, buffalo chicken, and other heavy stuff. Got to be one of the places to go if you're around here. It's really busy at times, and just park wherever if you can't get a spot. They're located on the east side of town, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

But the interior was very cool and the area was very pretty. They have a nice outdoor patio, inside bar and table seating. Plus they have several arcade games and sweet merchandise. I sampled the cramden bike-fruited sour, Punchy the clown-sour, Bangers-Strawberry Rhubarb Piehole-gluten free sour, and I Gotta Have My Hops-imperial ipa. They were all really good but my favorite was the strawberry rhubarb. It wasn't overly sour but was more sweet and was just a nice, light, summery drink. For dinner I had the Cuban B-smoked pulled pork, ham, pickle chips, honey mustard, and Swiss cheese on a hoagie roll. It came with a side of fries. The Cuban was delicious. The flavor was Smokey and sweet with a little acidity. It was really well balanced and was very tasty. Highly recommend. The fries were crispy and crunchy and not overly salted. I'd definitely order them again. Highly recommend that you stop in if you're in the area. If we end up around here again, we'll definitely stop in again.
