(I thought it odd that a repair/replacement of a liner surrounding a tire didn't require the removal of the wheel, but it apparently doesn't.) I was a customer of Dave's and was disappointed to see that they had been taken over by B Street. However, I found the new shop to be very clean, attractive, modern (but with cool old automotive signs) and spacious, and the people are just as friendly and professional. The work got done as fast as possible and they took care of dealing with my insurance company when my insurance company was dropping the ball. To make a long story short, Tires Plus, on 132nd and Maple told me this Ford Escape of my daughter's which I had just spent a bunch of $$ at Tires Plus to put a new AC compressor in and recharge a few weeks ago now needed more work. But, when we tried the AC on warm days and even the day after leaving the place the first time after the repair it was not throwing any cold or even cool air out. When I took it back in, assuming it was under warranty from 3 weeks before, they said it now needed a new evaporator coil. The cost? $1600. I took the car back and took it to Kurt at Acme. He and his mechanics checked out the whole AC system to find out it was only a fuse and now the AC is working great and Acme did that at minimal cost. I will keep bringing my cars to Acme.
