I love a good soft pretzel with cheese! This location is inside Meijer near the grocery side exit…read more It's really a grab and go type of environment. Usually my husband gets it for us so I can't say much about the service but he said that they are pretty nice. The pretzels we have had are always hot, fresh, and tasty. The prices are about $4-5 per pretzel and its quite large. They have a variety of pretzels and dipping sauces. It's good for a snack or even a little lunch if you get the pepperoni one. Overall it's a great opportunity to get a pretzel without having to go to the mall.

It's not your typical pretzel, it was softer and sweeter. There are a lot of options and dip varieties. Sweet or savory. I generally just go the classic route when there's too many choices so I went with a plain pretzel with cheese dip. I just read the about us section of their website to learn more and it's a pretty crazy winding story. But the gist is that the founders didn't know anything about pretzels when they bought the business but they figured it out and now have stores all across Indiana. The cashier was visibly annoyed but I couldn't tell if it was with me or if she was talking to someone on the phone with her earbuds in. Either way I just ordered my pretzel and got outta there.

I've driven by the Bakery, so many times and wanted to stop, but I was always in a hurry. My sister and I went in and we each got a dessert and because it was four in the afternoon, we got decaffeinated coffee. The refills were free and we sat at the little counter like we were at a diner and enjoyed everything about this iconic little bakery. The decor is a eclectic. We just took our time and looked around and laughed at so many signs and odd little things that were placed over the years. On the way to the ladies room, you will find out that the gentleman that started the restaurant fought in one of the world wars, and you will see his worn out shoes, his uniforms, his letters of accommodation and Learn his story. Now let's get to the desserts. We shared some type of a wonderful lemon pastry and a black forest cake. Best black forest cake I've ever had. Savored every bite. We were able to buy the last of the springle's that they had made from Christmas. FYI, if you don't like black licorice don't buy Springerle's but you can only get them at Christmas because it's a German tradition and they won't work in the summertime because of the humidity. Things that I learned that day. We saw that they had a dinner menu with a huge variety of different bratwurst and assorted sausages that we would like to try sometime. We ended up spending an hour and a half in a beautiful little place that we thought we were just going to stop and grab desserts to go.

This particular location is in the old Guardian Brewing space, adjacent to the tracks, and just about a mile from the Ball State Campus. While the locations differ, a few things remain consistent no matter which Books & Brews location you visit. However, this Muncie location brings a fresh layout, a PATIO, and ice/soda service, y'all! + Keep in mind that there is no beer brewed on the premises as of the writing of this review, so there are no growler fills on Sundays. That's not necessarily a bad thing unless you want to share a pizza with your spouse. Then you're back to building your own or ordering two small specialty pizzas. Now, the good part. The pizzas are delicious. I come from NY and Pizza Dive's NY style pizza is pretty darn good. Their servers are friendly college age kids. It's the new location that Pizza Dive did it right. It's open, well lit, modern, with plenty of seating. I certainly wish them and hope to visit them often. Just remember, it's NY pizza done fight. Suggestion - tech the pizza makers how to hand toss the pizzas.

Ordering online was easy and they keep you updated through text messaging. The interior is very nice, and the staff was amazing. When you pick up your order, they open the box so that the customer can approve that the order is what they were expecting. I am so used to pizza toppings being not only scarce, but arranged as if they were shot out of a cannon. As you can see from the picture, not only were the toppings generous, but they were arranged as if it were for a glamor shot on a cooking show. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The crust was tasty with just the right consistency. The sauce and cheese were perfectly proportioned, as were the toppings. This is a locally owned gem, and I highly recommend you give them a try.

We had would probably order some different entrées next time. I got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich, which was a perfect size for me, but expected a little better flavor. It was a little hard to eat with the bun partially soggy on the bottom when it was served. The house chips were delicious and serving size was huge. Another person in my party got the fried green tomato sandwich, but did not eat much of it. It was a lot of bread and not a lot of good stuff between the bread. We were really disappointed that they were no longer serving the chicken street corn taco dish and I hope they put that back on the menu! I do need to mention that I don't even like sweet potatoes, but the sweet potato waffle fries were a 5/5!! The food was good enough. I would definitely try this place again, just need to order a few more things to figure out what I like best at FDR. None of us ordered beer, so can't speak to the brewery portion of the restaurant.

Flatbreads, wings, sandwich's - I'd recommend it all. Meet friend, date night, family over together, or grab dinner before downtown fishers or event center thing - great place for it!
