    Menu 8/13/21

8/13/21 We stopped by the park on a whim and decided to get a snack. Our first time trying Celtic Pretzels. My cousin got the Classic no salt with nacho cheese. I got the Classic with salt and Ghiradelli white chocolate. It was not dense like most pretzels. It was pretty soft and just the right size. I can honestly say it's one of the best pretzels I've tasted this far. I would return again and try other items on the menu.

Great family friendly place in downtown Fishers…read more Lots of parking nearby and easy to walk to from the main Fishers area. There's plenty of seating and we've never had to wait. Service is always great. They have a couple staple beers that are refreshing but they have other options too for non beer drinkers. Food is actually really good. Flatbreads, wings, sandwich's - I'd recommend it all. Meet friend, date night, family over together, or grab dinner before downtown fishers or event center thing - great place for it!

I'm huge on seeing photos before I order (hence me being a YELPer) so I loved the photos on the website. The hostess and our server were friendly. It took a big before the server came over, but the hostess did warn us that he did just have another table seated before us. The beer drinkers in our party enjoyed their beers. We started out with two apps... cheese curds and pretzel bites. When they came to the table, neither looked like they do on the website. On the website the pretzels looked a bit better than something you'd get in a mall, and they stated they came with cheese and mustard. In real time they only had cheese. The cheese curds also looked completely different and were smaller portions than shown online. For our meals we had a burger, a chicken sandwich, and I had the southwest salad. There seemed to be a little miscommunication with our waiter about the dressing for my salad, and that resulted in my salad missing some ingredients but he resolved it. But also of note, the menu listed a "avocado lime vinagrette" and the salad came with a guac that just looked like it was maybe left in the blender a second longer than it should have been. The burger was huge. We all agreed the food was "good" but we wouldn't add it to our list of must haves next time we are in town. The disappointment more came from things that hyped us up on the menu online and in store and then weren't actually the same. :(

We LOVE B&B! Whether it's for trivia, bingo, or just going to have a relaxing place to read or play…read moresome board games, it's always a great time! We used to love going to the one downtown on Mass Ave also before it closed. But we're thankful this one is still open and that we live so close to it. I've found so many Xmas gifts for friends/family here also. If you're looking to find some retro, classic games and/or books, this might be the motherload! It's tucked in on the backside facing Home Depot, but once you find it the first time, you'll never forget where it is! Go in, grab some games, a beer (or two), and hang out during a trivia night! You'll feel right at home.

It's such an intimate performance area, and the sound and lighting are great. They have open mic nights here every week, and I can see myself coming back in the future to listen to more music. This is the "mothership" B&B -- the OG. I've been to some of the other Books & Brews around Indy before they closed, and this one definitely feels like an original. It's very ... lived in, let's say. The layout makes no sense, and there's a lot of stuff everywhere. But it's a cozy space, and lots of people, including families with young kids, were there when I visited. I like that there are "third places" like this that adults and kids can visit to to play games and eat and have a beer. (The adults have a beer! Sorry, kids.) The food at any Books & Brews has never been my favorite. In fact, I usually avoid it altogether and just get beer. But this time, my drink of choice was kombucha, and I got an "Oliver Twist," which is a soft pretzel with beer cheese. That reminds me: The food and beverages on their menu have silly little literary names. You have to know something about me: When I see silly little names on menus for ordinary food items, a switch turns on inside me and I become a defiant brat. I will never play along and say "The Girl with the Chicken Nuggie Tattoo" instead of "chicken nuggets" or "A Tale of Two Piggies" instead of "the ham and bacon sandwich." Nope. It's not happening. And when I ordered the "soft pretzel" instead of the "Oliver Twist," they understood me just fine. There is a huge wall of shelves filled with board games that you can grab and play at your table. There had to have been at least 50 or 60 different games. They also have lots of new board games for sale, as well as things like Magic the Gathering decks, Pokemon cards, Funko and geeky swag. Oh! And, of course, they have lots and lots of books, new and used. I couldn't tell if they were arranged with any rhyme or reason. So if you're looking for something specific, you might have better luck finding it elsewhere. But if you're looking to let destiny choose your next read, you might want to pop into Books & Brews and let the B&B powers-that-be guide you to the perfect book.

My kids and I all joined in on the freebie, which was a nice treat! Just a heads up - the free pretzel doesn't come with cheese, so I purchased four cheese cups which came up to a little over $8. That part of the experience was a bit off... the employee questioned why I needed four, which felt unnecessary. I politely explained it was for my kids, but it definitely wasn't the warmest interaction. Service overall was pretty disorganized. Some of us received our pretzels right away, while others had to wait, and we were asked multiple times by different employees what we were waiting on. It just felt chaotic, likely due to the high volume of people coming in for the promotion. The space itself had a busy, no-clear-line kind of vibe, which added to the confusion. On the bright side, the pretzels themselves were fresh and good. Overall, great deal and tasty pretzels, but the customer service and organization could definitely use some improvement, especially during high-traffic events.

You can buy 6 dips for $6 doing a mobile app order. We go through one dip a pretzel. The pretzels we purchased today seem much smaller than the past. Not sure if it's our imagination or they have shrunk in size ... like a lot of products recently. The mobile app is great. We recommend using it. Scan your receipt bar code and d points add up for free pretzels. They also provide coupons and offers through the app. You can ask to wait for a hot fresh pretzel. They will normally accommodate you. A 4 rather than a 5 rating due to the smaller pretzel, no jalapeno, requirement of ordering 6 dips online, and lack of ease of online ordering. Taste of the pretzels and dip ... 5 stars!!

He brags to everyone that BJs Brewhouse has the best wings. He got them and was very disappointed. The wings were smaller and not juicy! Dry and bland. I got a salad and salmon. I was eating the salad- about half way through- I bit down on something hard!! It stabbed the top of my mouth near my teeth. It was a large toothpick!!! (The big ones that they use to hold the sandwich together!) They brought me another one which had no physical containments in it. Praise Jesus! Lol I then went to the bathroom. They were disgusting. The two stalls had no toilet paper in their holders. They had HUGE toilet paper rolls sitting on the back of the toilet between the seat and the commode part! So gross. Our waitress was newer but that's not her fault. But the service was t even great. We didn't throw a fit or ask for a discount; we just paid and left. But we will be letting everyone know our experience with BJs in Noblesville!!! And we won't back!

Our server was pretty great, and up front about wait times. We went when the kitchen has a crew shortage, so there was a wait for food. For appetizers: nachos were great, but if you ordered a simple nacho, it's meh, we had to add several things and added $$ to make it REAL nachos. The dip for the pork rinds was good. The table ordered truffle fries, they finished it. It was our first time trying Upland beers. Most of the options are IPA and tart beers. None of which I like. The mixed drinks menu was meh, they offer 2 hard ciders, but one was unavailable. Our server let us try samples and she was very patient. For main dishes: I ordered a Salmon BLT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I didn't eat it with the bun, salmons was very thin, 1 piece of bacon, slice of tomato and 1 piece of lettuce. We had mac and cheese, DO NOT ORDER, it was floating in fat and there's no taste to it. Fish and chips was okay. The pizza was the highlight, it saved the night, I think. Bathrooms clearly labeled, easily seen, and clean. For 6 people, 2 of whom did not have alcoholic drinks (just water), our bill with tip was over $350. I would not come back here again, I had a better time and better food at other breweries.
