LOVE this little locally owned pawn shop. I have both bought many products from them as well as sold a couple of items. Sold a 9mm pistol and a DJ Mixing Board. Got great, reasonable offers for them and easy transactions. I have also bought 3 guns from them (hunting rifle, Mossberg shotgun and .38 special pistol) from Peter in the gun department. He is such a great guy, very knowledgeable and up front. Makes the transactions very easy. I will continually go to Peter for purchases in the future and recommend him to basically anyone. Ben's Loan is one of the best gun shops you'll find on the west side of the mountains. Their inventory of new and high-quality used guns is surprisingly extensive. And, if they don't have the gun you want, they'll order it for you, and generally have it in a few days. There are always two or three gun experts behind the counter, so you seldom have to wait for help. They're not only knowledgeable, but very friendly and helpful. And, you'll never get talked down to, as happens too often in other shops. On a side note; I almost always see a woman or two shopping at Ben's. If they're just starting out, they get top-notch, patient and respectful help. I also see a lot of young guys and gals, and they get the same respect, along with very good advice. You will never be rushed here. I've purchased two guns from Ben's, and sold three on consignment. I always shop Ben's first, and that's generally as far as I need to go. I had received two bids to repair my wedding ring that nearly stopped my heart and two shops tell me it wasn't repairable at all, so I thought I'd see about trading the stones and gold for a similar ring might be my only solution. The sales person quoted for sure they have the lowest price. BS. They are over charging the same firearm available locally. This business does not want your business. Wanted to come buy something here but I knew the laws had changed this year and some stores were being dumb about it. Called down and asked what their release time policy is. The new law allows FFLs to release 10 business days after submitting to LE for the background check if LE didn't get it done and is taking their sweet time. They told me that regardless of the law they won't release until they hear back from LE, no matter how long it takes. If you want to buy something in a timely manner, don't go here. read more

It's not so much the merchandise here, it's the people. About 5 years ago my husbands dad passed away and left my husband his 5 carat flawless diamond ring. This man was a real estate entrepreneur in the 80's in Seattle, he had millions, so he never bought fake jewelry! Needless to say, this right was worth ALOT of money! It wasn't my husbands taste/style, so he brought it to Ben's to sell. He worked with female owner of Ben's. She looked at it, put it under a diamond tester, then immediately handed it back saying "Its Fake".....EXCUSE ME...My husband was shocked, went home, got the paperwork from where my father in law bought it, and appraisal paperwork...this ring was worth $10K...He showed it to the same woman who helped him earlier. She then went back in the back, did something, then came back to my husband and said "Ohh, sorry....it is so flawless I didn't' think something like this could be real...........My husband pretty much said "Get Bent"...took it to Diamond Banc in Bellevue, where he got almost $8k..... Fast Forward to a few weeks ago. My dad's aunt passed away and her ring was left to me. Of course I had no paperwork...how would I. It was beautiful with 10 diamonds across in different sizes, all total weighting about 3 carats. My dad's aunt was also pretty well off, so I knew this wasn't' fake....also took it to 3 different jewelry stores, ran it through the tester, came back real...........well Duh! We went in Renton and I had the ring and my husband said "Let's just try Ben's, maybe someone with a brain will help us".....here's hoping! Brought this ring in, the guy took it from me, turned around, did something to it, a minute late came back and said I'm not going to insult you with giving you a price that low...here's your ring back" OMG, I SAW RED..... Pawned some items here to help me reach my amount needed to close on a house like most pawn shops they offered near nothing for my items but got what I needed so I could continue my journey. Iv shopped here in the past for guns and have a record with them That will be coming to an end. One of the items I pawned was a Mac book pro 13 after only a week of it being there I got a notification that it was at a Starbucks connected to Wi-Fi and being used for someone's personal agenda. Today I went and got my AR and a handgun out of pawn,after the background check was cleared and guns were paid off.I initially brought my AR in a nice nontactical gun backpack.Today the gave me my AR and my handgun but not my bag.I asked them where's my bag,noone seemes to know what to say they just kind of blew me off.That bag was about 100 bucks.They didnt even say sorry let us get you a bag off the shelf since we dont know what happened to your bag.No that didn't happen.Very upset with the customer service I got and for them basically stealing my bag and not even offering something similar.I will never go back because of this weak,bullshit action. read more

Just left ben's. I first purchased a gun here with my girlfriend and dawg over a year ago. Today I go in with a family member ( male and we both are black I hope that isn't a reason for this post ) but we come in with my mini poodle and are looking at guns ( we sell like cannabis I work in the industry and it is my weekend ) I'm not belligerent incoherent etc. the men behind the desk with a are making jokes about the smell that they have a vending machine and continuously laughing. I asked for help so that I can hold one of the guns on display. The employee (older gentleman) cleared the gun and handed it over to me. Not long after inspecting the gun, he literally pushed the gun out of my hand because I "muzzle flashed" him. This was literally less than a minute after we both saw that the gun was clear. I was not aiming it at him, I was just looking at the gun with my finger OFF the trigger. I honestly think he overreacted and isn't very fond of people who aren't well versed with guns. One of the guys working the gun counter badmouthed me because I am MIXED RACE! Like, why??!!! It was something along the lines of it being the stupidest thing (when he saw it on my background check form) and he mentioned another previous mixed race customer as he was talking about how stupid it was.... This happened while I was still in the store looking at accessories for my new gun that I just bought from them... so I got to hear that, which sucked! The other employees quickly stopped it and even gave me a small discount on the rifle bag I picked out, but it ruined what would otherwise be a happy day for me. I actually have not bought anything yet, but the People at Ben's Loans have been both patient and helpful with every question I've said. Based on a lot of the caliber of my questions, they obviously know they're dealing with a newbie and I know how difficult they can be with my own personal experiences when helping someone out. If you call them and get a quote, they have VERY competitive prices, even lower than a particular popular place in FW. Sometimes they may not have the firearm in stock, which has been the case once for me. I had the option to wait a few weeks and I was unable to do so. Had I been able to delay my purchase, I would have bought it from Ben's Loan. This is a good place, definitely worth checking out, and I will continue to use them as a resource for my firearm needs. read more

Another Review of the Gun Corner I've been to Ben's Loan a couple times to review their selection of firearms. Each time I've been in, the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. As I expressed interest in different products, they would showcase and discuss various attributes of each product. The prices aren't as low as some online outlets, but with transfer fees and shipping associated with online purchases, this is just as good if not better (and less hassle too). I was more than happy to pay the posted price on their products and will continue to give Ben's Loan my business. I'm also a huge fan of supporting the local shops. Ben's Loans is a pretty decent gun shop. Yes, their prices always tend to be a bit higher than say SA&A in Lakewood but they are close to home. Service varies on who helps you. If you have purchased guns from them in the past, you know who to wait for and who to avoid. Overall, they are Pro 2A, always seem to have good stuff in stock and always have a great selection of Pre-Owned stuff. In the era of Covid 19 and face masks required when going out in public I found it very concerning that 1/2 of the employees that I encountered did not wear a mask. Yes I could have left but I was there for ammo and ammo is in short supply these days. The had some. The guy was quick to ask me what I needed. Not friendly at all just matter of fact. I asked for a specific item which he had. I asked for a specific ammo though not specific brand. When he put what he chose on the counter I asked if he had a different brand. He said no. I decided to take it and when I went to pay he did not even look at me or say anything, just the price. Okay. After paying I looked up and saw that indeed they did have another brand and the one I was actually looking for. When questioning him about the other brand he just said "this one is better". I told him I had really wanted the other brand and he said there was a limit of 2 per person. Okay. So either I return this one or give me the other one too since you told me you had nothing else. This place is awful. Some of the employees are great including the gun counter guy, but the rest of them including the owners are rude and unwelcoming. You can most likely find better places to go if you are into pawn shops ( i go to a lot of them) Its not so bad if not that many people working, but usually they all just stand around and give you the stink eye and make you feel awkward. I am so glad I finally created a yelp account, I usually don't post reviews but this place really gets under my skin. I have witnessed the same rude behavior to other customers as well. This place is disgusting. The person helping me was the sketchiest person I've met. He kept saying how their store is so picky with what they buy, yet pictures on yelp show that they buy tackle for fishing and dvds/vhs. I showed him the picture and he wanted to scroll the the rest. When he handed my phone back to me I saw that he was looking through my personal pictures instead of the yelp ones. I shouldn't have handed him my phone, but I've never had someone at a place of employment look through my phone like that and he was probably hoping to find nudes. Very unprofessional I will never be going back. He was very rude and criticized everything I brought in. Especially a nice gold plated necklace by a respectable brand and called it costume jewelry instead of nicely saying we don't buy that. Love this place! I have bought a dozen firearms here. Ask for Ryan....He is the nicest "gun store" employee you will ever meet. Their prices are the 2nd lowest around only behind Federal Way Discount (and I shop EVERYWHERE) if you want to see REALLY HIGH prices try WADES in Bellevue or DISCOUNT GUNS in TUKWILA (Different company then Fed Way) And if you want bad service go to Federal Way and ask for the owner himself :-) I prefer to do all of my firearm business here now thanks to Ryan.
