We've been big believers in feeding our dogs a raw diet for years, so when my husband had the opportunity to invest in Ben's Barketplace, it felt like a natural fit. Our experience with raw feeding has been incredible, and one of the key reasons we chose to invest in this franchise was our trust in the quality of the products they offer. Our beloved bullmastiff lived an impressive 13.5 years - much longer than average for her breed, and we credit her raw diet for her long, healthy life. When we adopted our golden retriever from a rescue, the previous owner made it a condition that his new family continue feeding him raw food. A couple of years later, my mother-in-law got an English golden retriever from a breeder who also required a signed contract committing to an all-raw diet. It's amazing to see growing awareness about the importance of feeding our pets high-quality food. I'm thankful for Ben's Barketplace - Folsom! We currently feed our golden retriever OC Raw, and he loves it. We initially started with the chicken, but have since expanded to beef and turkey. Although I have a personal connection to the store, this review reflects our family's genuine experience. I feel like the employees care about my fur babies as much as I do & they will walk around the store with you & read ingredients & give advice & I always feel like I'm in good hands. We decided to stop by since we were in the area! This was a great little shop. I enjoyed that there was a relatively large selection of cat foods and treats that are of high quality ingredients. Usually pet stores are very dog-centric, so this was very much appreciated. The staff greeted us immediately when we walked in, and they were very friendly and willing to help. They do have a Five Stars program (for every dollar you spend you earn a point.) Would definitely come back if I'm around! read more

My boyfriend, my daughter and I stopped in to purchase some canned cat food since Kirara was almost out. We purchased 2 assorted cases of her favorite flavors of Grain Free Fussie Cat Gold cans and she of course loves them! What's great about this store is that you get a discount thanks to the rewards program! I would highly recommend this location, the woman working the counter was very helpful and they were well stocked! We were around this side of town today and decided to check out this pet store. it was well laid out and had lots of choices for pet food and treats. We have a little Chiweenie so we must keep her on a controlled diet but I saw there were dog toys and dog puzzles. The puzzles are a go to dog toy for us as it is great stimulation when we can't walk due to bad weather. I purchased a West Paw Zogoflex Toppl Treat Dispensing Dog Toy Puzzle interactive toy. Also purchased Wondercide natural flea and tick spray. The store representative was helpful when we asked questions about the spray and and a couple other products. The toy I purchased was in an area with other puzzle toys just hanging with not much info. It may have been my fault for not noticing this particular puzzle toy could have two pieces (purchased separately ) which would make treats a little more difficult to get out. I didn't notice this until I got home. Our dog is pretty good at puzzles but there is no challenge without both pieces . I called the store to see if I could return it and maybe get another dog puzzle. The person who answered the phone said if it was opened it couldn't be returned. The only thing holding it to the packaging was two zip ties which had to be cut in order to remove the toy to see how it worked. Very disappointed with the customer service response to return an item that wasn't used. I thought I found a local gem that I could support but based on that response I won't return. read more

Just got a puppy and started learning about the importance of good quality food. That interested me because I've had lots of dogs growing up who had all kinds of health problems. We started making our own dog food but that took too much work and didn't trust the kinds of foods sold at Costco or petsmart. So we tried Ben's to see what they had. Not only did we get outstanding customer service, we got an education lesson as well about the kinds of ingredients that would keep our puppy healthy. Every time we go in there, we get nothing but the best service. Side note. My daughter has autism and a lot of places aren't so welcoming to us in their stores. But the staff here opens the red carpet for her and she looooves coming to buy our dog food. The level of kindness and and compassion shown to us is appreciated beyond words. Best place to shop for your pet necessity. We were well greeted right away when walk in. Customer service was very exceptional. Any questions about any pet products and toys were thoughtfully and gracefully answer. Furthermore, they were the only place that market my favor kibbles for my pets. All in all, it was worth finding this hidden maw and paw pet store. I just came in here recently. The prices were decent for the quality that you were getting. For dog foods, they have average prices for good quality food(a predominantly meat and veggie mix), to more fancy products(free-range, wild-caught, multiple types of raw foods). One thing I like about the food is that they have multiple sizes. If you wanted to make a switch, you can get a smaller bag to see if your dog likes it, and later you get a bigger one, or a HUGE bag. They also have a place where you can wash your dog. The person working there seemed very passionate about animals and how the foods they eat affect their bodies. If you are going to use the self service pet wash- save yourself and your pup the money and aggravation. Started washing the pup in the tub with the auto machine that gives you 15 min. There was no shampoo coming out on the wash cycle- when I told the store personnel they came in and opened the machine and said it was just "really watered down". Trust me- not a bubble and no shampoo. Same for the conditioner but I didn't even bother asking. I did have to go out to ask for a towel (which the instructions at the station tell you to use with the blower). No towels. So by the time I was finished asking for things, trying to scrub without soap and drying without a towel- my 15 lb dog walked out stinky and wet. When I reiterated on my way out that the shampoo was inadequate and same for conditioner- the staff literally shrugged and went on with what they were doing. Continue driving down the road to Pet express to use their facilities- (which I had to do) and save yourself the $15 of frustration. read more
