I love the drop in service to get your dog's nails trimmed here. They will clip or dremmel for a small up charge. The hours are a little inconsistent and sometimes they aren't able to accommodate drop in. I've been several times and sometimes they will do it and other times they won't. Unfortunately last time I was here when they took my dog back, he got scared. I think he was remembering prior times. They picked him up to carry him to the back after just a short wait. It was not much longer before I heard a loud cry out and shortly thereafter they brought my dog to the front. I asked if everything went okay and they said, yes. Since that visit, my dog won't let me touch his paws or trim them. He is a spaniel and his fur grows quickly. I usually trim the fur in his paws and between his toes to prevent slipping on my wood floors. I don't like clipping his nails and prefer to take him elsewhere for that part of grooming. When they cut his nails this last time, seems like something happened to traumatize him. I appreciate the quick service and drop in convenience, however I won't be bringing my dog back here with the care and handling from that day and the problems it has caused. read more

We have been bathing our dog at Bark Avenue in EDH sin e they opened. Yesterday the experience was mot so good. At the tub you could only use the rinse feature as the faucet would leak per the notes on the machines. One drying area had NO place to hook the dog leash as you dry dog, the 2nd dryer had a clip that was broken so again no way yo secure the dog. The buttons on the dryers do not work so you manually turn on the dryer motor. Aprons are ripped. When we approached the person at the counter they were very apologetic and said they constantly ask corporate for help to get the bath area fixed and are not getting a response. Very sad and disappointed in this location. read more

I have a cat that I take to Bark Ave to have his nails cut. He won't let me do it and I have to plan very carefully because he doesn't willingly go into his cage. I have been calling for 2 days after just going there on Monday only to find out they didn't have anybody in to cut cat nails. Mind you, I have been trying to get my cat into them for over a week, because he's so difficult to catch. For the last 2 days the phone goes to VM with either ext 1 or 2. Are you open???? THAT'S NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS! Time to find another more responsive groomer. read more

This review is long overdue. I have been taking my pup to Bark for over 2 years now for grooming. Felipe is the only groomer I have had for My maltese. Felipe grooms him every 6-8 weeks and always makes appointments that are convenient for me. He is personable and always welcomes us with a smile. After an hour and a half my pup "Eddie" looks great and smells even better the employees at the front counter always welcome me when I open the door. I have called down to verify an appointment and they are always courteous checking my appointment. I am so happy to have found this business and recommend it to other pet owners. read more

We brought our Chow Chow to his regular grooming and he had a couple of knots in his coat ( nothing some conditioner can't take off) and as you can see in the pictures they just cut his hair off leaving him with 2 huge holes on his mane (if you are familiar with this breed you should never cut a chows coat like this!!!!!) and we have stated to them before. ANNA THE GROOMER SUCKS! Don't let her groom your dog unless you don't care how it turned out. I'm giving it 4 stars for everyone else. Anna deserves a 0! It's sad because I absolutely love everyone's work at this place. Never had an issue until I had a confrontation with Anna about 6 months ago when she ruined my other dogs hair. Her response was very rude and basically she didn't do anything wrong. Whatever, I let that go, but I made sure her name was marked in my file not to have her groom my dogs ever again. Well today, my doodle was dropped off by my husband and guess who groomed my dog?!!! Yup, Anna! I'm livid, my poor doodles haircut looks like I did it my self, which I obviously wouldn't know what to do in this case. I'm just upset because I made sure she never groomed my dogs again, but when I called they said there was no such note . Felipe and Megan groom my dogs and they're both amazing at what they do. My husband had asked Anna (not knowing about our past) to trim the top of her head but leave it longer than her body. We have a Christmas photo shoot this weekend. My poor baby doesn't even look like her self . I'm including a photo of her hair now and before( Megan's groomed). The haircut on the top of her head is all uneven. She even has a bald spot. I get my Maine Coon cat groomed here and they are very nice and have great communication with time.

The manager Jane is completely useless and makes no sense. I made a purchase where I wasn't given a receipt and she told me I couldn't return it because I didn't have a receipt. Okay so I told her to look up in the system of her purchases and she said she couldn't confirm or deny that it was my purchase. Wtf??? The location and setup was perfect because my golden-doodle was covered in Velcro thistles. The self-wash was spacious and the dog tubs at a convenient height. The wash controls are not intuitive but I asked for instructions and was quickly cleaning. If you need a special brush or comb then you can purchase what you need. The towels were clean and the large blow dryer worked well with the extra long, light-weight hose. I'd definitely recommend this place to self-wash your dog or pick up a treat up a dog treat. read more

Nice people at the front counter but wow have been in at least 6 times for the grooming area to get pets nails trimmed. Not a happy bunch. The ladies working there do not seem to enjoy their work and often pretty abrupt. Beth there seems to lead the bunch but very surprised that people who work with animals not very outgoing. I watched many pick up or drop animals for service and the folks at the grooming side seem very "transactional" and not very "service friendly." Not the type of demeanor I want performing services on my pet even under my watchful eye. This is only specific to the self-dog-washing station! Went there today and none of the washing station's soap dispensers were working. They barely even had full soap tubs. When I ask for help, the girl tried her hardest, but ended up handing me a gallon of soap (without a pump lid) to wash my dog with my hands. Then I went to use the towels and they were disgusting. There were fur balls on every towel and they were just gross. I got charged $18 even though nothing was up to par! It looks like several of the baths aren't even set up for use. Made an appointment the day prior with Megan. Came on time hoping to get my newly rescued pup groomed. By law, rabies vaccines must be shown before proceeding. This is not an issue but I would have appreciated a heads up before coming in so I could have the paperwork ready. I stepped out to consult with the shelter to get an online copy of the paperwork needed & the shelter instead advised to hold off on grooming for at least a month. I come back in and apologize to Megan & shared what the shelter had said. I left the grooming area and browsed around the store to see if there's something I could purchase to at least support the shop. As I was looking for a brush steps away from the check in counter, I heard Megan re-tell our entire encounter in a snarky, sarcastic, and dismissive manner while coworkers acknowledged her story with laughter. I empathize that I took up a time slot that could have gone to another pet. This is Megan's livelihood. It was not my expectation to cancel but I had to in the best interest of my pet. I thought that would be understood and accepted. However, I feel her behavior was extremely unprofessional, rude, and inexcusable. Frankly, Im disappointed and offended. I came in with genuine intention, was cordial, and apologetic. I recommend choosing somewhere trust-worthy to get your pets taken care of because this place isn't it. read more

Grooming services: Having a dog now that requires frequent grooming, Bark Avenue came to me by recommendation from a friend and I couldn't be happier! All of the gals there are all extremely friendly and personable. Unlike some of the larger pet store chains you don't have to arrive until your appointment rather than dropping off in the morning to sit in a kennel waiting for evening pickup. We use Danielle Rodrigues and she's absolutely amazing and super patient with our 8 month old fluff-ball. She's incredibly knowledgeable, does an amazing cut, and treats our dog with care. This was my second time to Bark Avenue in EDH. The first time the groom was ok, no issues. This second time, I went to pick my dog up and the groomer said she had cut my dog's paw and that she had been bleeding. She suggested getting flour to stop the bleeding. I was confused but was thankful she was upfront about it. My dog bled all over the ground throughout the store. I contacted my friend who owns a mobile grooming business in the Fresno area and informed me this was carelessness. It's normal to accidentally cut her nails too short and put a stopper on it. Cutting a paw like this must mean they were not paying attention. She also said Petco and her mobile grooming business would've made it right by not charging for the groom. I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was forwarded to the groomer that did this to her and nothing was offered to make it right, only they'd cover the vet bill if she had to go. I was told to call back the next morning to speak to the owner. I was told she was a small business owner and that there was nothing she could do. I explained to her how horrible I felt for my dog as she was clearly in pain. The only thing she offered was to tell the groomer to slow down and to give a discount off the next groom. Although, there will not be a next groom. You want to be able to trust your groomer not to hurt your baby. I would avoid going here. read more

This place is wonderful! We loved them when they were in their Town Center location, but have since moved, to a much larger location in the Raley's Center. Same great service and selection! We primarily us the self-serve-dog-wash. Very convenient and always stocked with everything needed to clean up a "smelly" puppy. Prices are very reasonable and they run frequent "deals" and pre-paid programs to keep you coming back. I also like the annual events they run at the store, including their vendors ( with lots of tasty treats and samples for your pet) and local pet adoption services. These guys are truly good citizens of the EDH Community. We've also used their in-house grooming services for nail-trims on our pup. Excellent service and reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly and you can tell they sincerely love the pets that frequently visit. read more

I wouldn't come here to purchase anything... they don't let you return items even if they're brand new with tags, never have been used. Spent $50 on a harness for my dog and it didn't fit. Unfortunately had to leave town unexpectedly so missed the return period by a few days. Wouldn't allow for store credit, gift card, nothing...beware of the 7 day return policy otherwise it's a total waste of money.
