They claim to have the coldest beer in America. That's definitely false advertising, so don't believe the hype. This bar is divey, and has an eclectic group of people. Young people, old people, bikers, preppy dudes, etc. I thought the service was fine. There were only two bartenders the night we went, and they were busting their arses all night long. My friend and I had several pitchers of beer and walked away with a very small bar tab. Yay for that! And although I'm pretty sure the poles on the dance floor are for structural support, that didn't stop my friend from using it as a stripper pole. We chatted with some of the locals, who were all nice. I think it's a good sign if you're in a bar where locals are. Then you know you're not in some touristy stupid bar. Over all, good times!

One of our fav on Tybee! We love a good whole in the wall bar, while tybee has many, many of them have locals who aren't very welcoming to out of towners. Benny's isn't like that at all! Rick always makes us feel very welcomed. His wife does karaoke Thursday-Sunday and it's a lot of fun! Beer is VERY cold. We make it a point to stop in once a day when we visit. Sometimes for just a beer, sometimes for 4 hours and sing a few songs.

AWESOME NEIGHBORHOOD DIVE BAR! I walked in by myself on a Thursday evening. My first visit to Georgia, let alone quirky Tybee Island. I definitely stood out amongst the regulars who were belly-upped to the bar. Was an awkward entry because I was alone, but I went on to have an unforgettable time. Owner Denny himself saw I was a stranger and came over to introduce himself. We had a great talk. Later he introduced me to everyone at the bar, including his wife, all the bartenders, the cook, and most of the salty regulars. I really liked meeting Mike the Fisherman/Logger/Painter and his wife...who he met at Dennys 10 years prior. Gem of a guy. Loved the place but more importantly the people. Oh and the draft beer was icy cold and the bourbon was amazing. What a fantastic, memorable experience.

Permanently closed. I didn't try the new place but I bet it doesn't have the Coldest Beer in America. RIP Benny's.

Location is fantastic, you are right next to the beach and there's a constant breeze coming from the ocean (always bring something to wear on top). The ambience is overall very cute, simple and romantic at the same time. Also nice to enjoy with family (grown up family - I feel like kids wouldn't have a lot of space to run around ). We had chips and dips, two cocktails (key lime martini and pink flamingo) and a white wine (brut). My favorite was definitely the key lime martini, but that's of course a matter of taste. If I were in tybee island for more days, I would most likely be at this place every evening! (They also have food, but we got here for an after dinner)

Just be aware that the local birds have an issue with outsiders sharing their space. Good Luck or not - no one likes being pooped on! We ordered strawberry daiquiris and a Tybee Salad and a chicken sandwich. Both items were tasty and filled the space available in our tummies. We did get a squirt gun dropped at our table to balance the scales of defense. We used it a few times. Needless to say no more surprises occurred. Friendly staff and great location.

If you're there in cold weather, position yourself in front of one of the blasting electric space heaters. I was there in January and didn't pay much attention to the outdoor seating, but did notice some fun-looking transparent geodesic dome tent-like thingies you can sit in. I had raw local oysters, falafel bites, and nachos. The oysters were fresh, chilled and served with interesting condiments. The falafel was sizzling hot and served with delicious tzatziki. I opted for South African sausage on the nachos and they were an interesting dining experience: made with sturdy potato chips instead of tortilla chips. The best part? The margaritas! I've been traveling around the Deep South for a month now and they are by far the best I've found.

Yes, latest visit since we also visited June 2025, and gave that visit a 4 star. Let me say there were several issues during this visit. First, they didn't have a common beer available, claiming they ran out of Corona. Now it is a Friday night and you're going into the weekend without one of the most popular beers - just crazy. Next I ordered the Low Country Boil, well after a few minutes another person comes to me as says they have no potatoes for the meal and offered extra sausage to make up the meal. I accepted that. When my meal came out, the server now tells me they owe me 2 more pieces of corn and they would quickly bring that to me. Guess what - never got them. The two pieces I did get were cold - I mean not fully boiled/cooked. Icy cold inside. Now we were with several other couples and one couple had to ask for their drinks a second time. Fact is their meal came out before their first drinks. I have to also mention the men's rooms. I was clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned in a while. Now let's face it, it got screwed up due to nasty guests, but staff really need to check it every so often. Folks I visit Tybee twice a year and there are plenty of options on the island. I think the Zunibar has lost my future business, as well as the 3 other couples we were with. If you choose here you have been warned. I hope you have a better visit.
