Cheap but proficient small outside patio.

This is a neighborhood bar at best. Five stars for me depends on a number of things. Food service and atmosphere. Yes, you can smoke inside this bar. I have sinus problems and that makes it shitty... However, the food was pretty fresh for what it was, the girls behind the bar didn't have a attitude with me - and where very kind - to me a lone woman patron... which makes me impressed in itself. Anyway - five stars for being a simple place to get cheap drinks good time and play pool with your buddies. Cheerio check out a great neighborhood bar when you're nearby.

Very nice to be able to walk from my hotel room and then two minutes be in a bar and grill! I need to stay at more places that have these. The women behind the bar, very nice and friendly. I think I'm going to come back here before my stay is over.

This place had excellent Gyros, maybe the best in Sav. Located off Dean Forest Rd. adjacent to the airport. Easy parking too.

This is first rate Jamaican food done really well. I had oxtails a couple of patties, jerk chicken, and carrot cake and everything was on point! I especially loved the oxtail gravy which they poured plenty over my rice and peas and I thought the jerk seasoning was authentic. This is a small spot in a strip mall with a couple of tables so this is mostly a takeout operation. But the young lady that waited on me was very helpful, explaining a lot of of the menu, what was fresh and what the days deals were. Definitely plan on making this one of my go to spots.

I am from Brooklyn NY but live in California where there are hardly any Jamaican spots in my area. So when I'm in town I make sure to support this place. We walked into Georgia Comfort…read moreKitchen off I-95 on one of those gray, damp Georgia afternoons, and from the first bowl of gumbo, the weather outside stopped mattering entirely. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.

Housed in a beautifully refurbished 18th-century cotton warehouse, the restaurant exudes a warm, historic ambiance with its exposed brick walls and views of the Savannah River. To start, we settled in with drinks from the bar, taking in the rich history of the place. For my entrée, I ordered the much-talked-about Low Country Shrimp and Grits, a choice I did not regret. The dish was phenomenal: plump shrimp and savory andouille sausage were sautéed with sweet red peppers in a rich Cajun spice butter sauce, all served over creamy cheddar cheese grits. The flavors were expertly balanced and incredibly satisfying, easily one of the best versions of this Southern classic I've had.

It's a really pretty, sunny room with a few different seating areas (bar, upstairs, main seating, sidewalk, etc.) just a short Uber (or middling walk) from Downtown. Reasonably priced and totally worth your trip over to check it out. Might be my best breakfast of the year so far, and it's December! Short rib hash bowl was both moist and crispy, just the right side of too salty and had some real zing. Umami, for sure! Yum (my mouth's watering just thinking of it a couple days later)! My wife loved her inexpensive (but perfect) waffle and bacon and her hot toddy was pretty inspired. I grabbed a piece of gingerbread cake for the plane home and that proved to be an inspired idea. Tyla took great care of us, whirling around all the other tables and other staffers. Wow, but the place is hopping. Looking at the inspired menu and especially all the baked goods and shakes, well - right then we made up our minds that we HAD to return to Savannah - to eat more of this! I'm glad I don't live nearby: I'd be as big as a house.
