Two massive slices from Benny Ferrovia's, Charlotte
Bruce K.

I popped over from Hi-Wire next door for slices to go and it was a great choice. Yes, the pizza slices are $5+ here but when you see that it's from a 28" pie and one slice covers TWO plates, one slice is a meal in itself. Meatballs for me, mushrooms for Mrs. K. and it did not take long for them to get topped and heated and boxed up. Cody, the dude who was slinging pizza this evening, was a great conversationalist while we waited for the heating up process. A real trip and a pleasant person! Great pie from Benny Ferrovia's! (If you're taking pizza back to Hi-Wire, look for the special spot for dropping off / stacking up pizza boxes so the bins don't fill up!) We should have believed the reviews that said these slices were giant. We were feeling hungry so ordered SIX slices. For TWO people. Needless to say, we have leftovers on leftovers. My fave of the bunch was The Mac (veg special for July) followed by the pepperoni. I grew up on Papa John's garlic sauce, and I was so excited to see a garlic dipping sauce option on the menu. Nostalgic & delicious. Benny's is a solid place to grab a slice that will fill you up and hit the spot!

Cheese pizza14" individual slices

This was my first (and definitely last) time trying Benny Ferrovia's Pizza--and the experience from start to finish was a letdown. I ordered two 14" cheese pizzas online and arrived around 9:50 PM on 4/13/25. The man working didn't greet me--just said "what can I get you?" I told him I was picking up an online order, gave him my name, and he immediately acted like no order existed. I showed him my phone with my order confirmation, and he said something like "I don't know how that works" or "I've never seen that before." Instead of asking for help, he just stood there. After I spelled out my name (I-S-S-A), he finally found the pizzas literally sitting behind him on top of the oven the whole time. No apology, no effort, just a really off-putting interaction. And after all that? The pizza wasn't even worth it. The cheese pizza barely had cheese on it--tasted like mostly bread. I don't know if I came on a bad night, or if it's better during the day when it's less busy, but this was super disappointing. I wish I had the same experience as those 5-star reviews, but sadly I didn't. This whole experience felt like a waste of $10, and I'm not coming back.

Jalapeños Cheddar pizza- AMAZING!?

Benny's always has friendly, fast service, even when they are slammed on a Saturday night! I love this place and will always come back when I have a pizza craving

Benny's! I've been wanting to try Benny's ever since I saw a post with a girl holding a pizza spice up to her face. I always thought "her head is probably small." Welp, mine is definitely not haha. The pizza slices are indeed humongous. One slice is enough for anyone. I don't care who you are. One slice is enough! It's a small, super casual pizza place with tvs. If we're in the area and craving pizza again, we will return.

The little pigs. All the pig in the middle. Pizza definitely undercooked.

We love Benny's - especially the Noda location - but this location has been more of a "miss" the past 2 times we've gone. The flavors are great, but the pizza isn't fully cooked and the toppings don't have time to bake into the cheese. I should say, it seems like this location does base cheese pizzas and then adds toppings when you order. Case in point, my three little pig slice last night. When I folded it, all the toppings rolled into the middle. Same with my kids pepperoni, when she picked it up, they just slid off. It would be fine, if they gave the pizza ample time to bake in the oven, so the cheese could melt and be the "glue", but it hasn't been the case recently. The girls working there were super nice and double cut my kid's pizza without issue (but I did ask the gentleman when he took my order to do that, so I'm glad I checked before leaving).

1st time at this location. Solid pizza as always. No issues with service or food. Took a star away because the lobby needed cleaning

Being a NY pizza snob and searching high and low for a good slice, Bennys knows exactly what they are doing! They offer pizza by the slice and pie. I do also like the variety of beverages they offer! If you're looking for a casual, fun, and laid-back environment, this is the place to go! Their original location in NoDa is great too! That is where I had my first Benny's experience, but that location is not ideal for me, so I was super pumped when they opened up in Southend!

Food was great. I got slice of cheese and slice of 3 meat pizza and it was banging. The guy working was very kind and enthusiastic. He communicated very well and deserves a lil bonus or something. Would recommend to any za lovers to try it out. Stopped here on a whim and was not disappointed. Good af bro

The pizza slices here are HUGE! I tried the Versace slice which was a special slice of the day. It's a cheese slice topped with garlic pesto, onions, and green peppers. I believe the specials change daily. There's also a list of different beers to buy and outdoor seating is available. Friendly service. I will be back next time I'm in town.

Bobby bruschetta, pepperoni, and sausage!
Daisy S.

Just a great experience! Husband and I got three slices and three drinks. Dinner for under $25 with tip and we left FULL! The Bobby Bruschetta is on rotation and won't be there much longer, but it was so good. Just had so much flavor. My husband had the Italian sausage and he liked the flavor, too. We split the pepperoni and it's what I expected after trying mine. Add in two cokes and a water - nothing weird there. The staff was awesome and the food was quick. All in all a great experience! Will be back for these massive slices.

Woah!! The best foldable slices ever.
Cheryl M.

They have great customer service. The staff is friendly. The establishment is neat, organized and clean. The slices are "massive"! There's indoor/outdoor seating and parking in a large lot. There a full array of beers to pair nicely with your pie. Come give them a try. Perfect location!!!

After hearing so much about this place my family and I decided to try it. Definitely was not what I was thinking. When it was my turn (on 11-8-25 at around 8:30) to order the older man with glasses visibly looked annoyed to begin with. Audibly complaining and mumbling things after people would order and I get it, people have bad days or has stuff going on, but that did not prepare me for how he'd treat me. Whenever the cashier finally to fully take our order and not just walk away several times, he got the order then proceeded to look at me and then accused me of stealing a sticker. I was actually so stunned because all I did was grab one then put it back, but I still emptied my pockets to prove I didn't. He didn't want to dig further so instead pulled the stickers back and looked like he was counting them. I can understand needing to see if someone stole, but he didn't have to go about it the way he did to where others could tell what was going on. I walked back out humiliated, embarrassed, and just wanted to leave because I've never been accused of stealing before. My mom felt bad and was upset because of how I was feeling so she ended up speaking with the manager Alexis. She truly was the highlight of the experience and took care of us. She didn't have to show us so much kindness, we really did just want to inform someone about the man's demeanor because it's very unwelcoming to say the least and we weren't the only ones he was rude towards. I left the same review on Google and the owner, Kristen Brown, said that "guests think the stickers are free and it can create an uncomfortable exchange", further backing up employe who is rude, unprofessional, and accuses people of stealing. Didn't know picking something up, even if you back it back down, is seen as stealing. The food isn't the great either, not worth what you're paying at least. Not at all what people make this place out to be

Review for North Italia…read more has absolutely become one of my staples in Charlotte.** It's located in the heart of South End--a trendy, energetic neighborhood with beautiful outdoor dining--and one of the biggest perks here is easy parking, which, as any Charlotte diner knows, is always a win. Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous. Think large, comfortable booths, warm lighting, fresh flowers, and a lively but polished atmosphere. I always make a reservation through OpenTable--I'm too old to be waiting around to eat, and I might as well rack up some points and perks while I'm at it. One of the things I appreciate most about North Italia is their seasonal menu. It keeps the experience fresh and thoughtful, and you can tell the kitchen is paying attention to ingredients and timing. I usually start with a glass of wine-- a sparkling rosé or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc--something cold, clean, and refreshing. Bubbles are always a good option for me. They serve a delicious focaccia at the table, which I sometimes indulge in, but the dish that truly stands out--the one I still dream about--was a seasonal ravioli with butternut squash and crispy sage. It was beautifully balanced, comforting, and memorable in the best way. Other favorites: * The Caesar salad--perfectly dressed * The arancini and calamari--always solid starters * The pizzas, especially the cacio e pepe * And yes, the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for Brunch here is also a lovely experience. Sitting on the patio, eating alfresco on a sunny Sunday, reminds me so much of what I loved about California--being outdoors, enjoying great food, and taking your time. Thankfully, there's plenty of shade, so it's comfortable even on warm days. They do offer a happy hour. It's not the most extensive in town, but it's perfectly fine for drinks, a pizza, or a charcuterie board with friends after work. What keeps me coming back: * Consistently good service * Clean, beautiful space * Thoughtful seasonal dishes * Easy parking * Reliable quality Yes, it's a bit upscale--but it's approachable, welcoming, and dependable. And when a chef takes the time to create seasonal dishes that appeal to diners with curious palates, that deserves recognition. Bottom line: A polished, reliable favorite in South End that delivers great food, beautiful ambiance, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience.

I'm patient (used to work in hospitality), but when they brought out a bowl of water for the dog with a couple that was seated after us that was too much!! You served the dog before us?!?!? No thanks.

The ratio of noodles to cheese and sauce didn't feel balanced, and felt more like lasagna soup, but overall, it was decent. I think I'd try something different next time. I moved here from up north 25 years ago and growing up I. The northeast sets the bar pretty high in terms of pizza. Portifino's is great. The sauce is sweet and portioned perfectly. The cheese is nice and salty, so you actually taste it. The toppings are flavorful, and again, well proportioned. My favorite is the Caprice which comes with tomato, fresh mozzarella, olive oil and fresh basil. It's amazing. The pasta dishes are excellent. I'd recommend the linguini with clam sauce and throw in some shrimp and broccoli for good measure. The Calzones are HUGE. I get mine with Mushroom, sausage, pepperoni and black olives. It's a family run business and it FEELS like a family run business. They care about what they're doing. The person at the counter taking your order has a stake in your satisfaction. Don't get me wrong, we're not talking about Ritz Carlton Gold Standard. It's a pizza joint run by REAL people. But they're good people, and they actually care. That's better in so many ways. My best recommendation is to go get lunch with a friend, coworker, or even by yourself and sit in a booth by the window, watch the city do its thing and enjoy some real food made by real people. They have traditional options like pepperoni and cheese, some crowd favorites like Buffalo chicken, and chicken bacon ranch, and even some square Sicilian slices including a vodka slice that I heard is quite good. While you order at the counter they will give you a number and bring your food to you. In addition to pizza they offer a variety of sandwiches and pastas. On my most recent visit I wanted to try their cheese steak, but I wasn't sure how large the sandwich would be so to be safe I order a slice of pizza as well. That was a mistake, the sandwich was quite large and came with chips, and their pizza slices are also quite large. It was good but I was stuffed afterwards so learn from me! I'm glad to have more options for pizza by the slice in Uptown, my one gripe is that the pizza is on the pricier side, $7.00 a slice. That's the Uptown surcharge for ya.
