Bennu is a great place to study and pull an all nighter, it's open 24/7. They're especially known for their mochas, so we got the Don Quixote and The Great Gatsby. I'd rate the Don Quixote a 9.2/10. It's made with Mexican chocolate spice and reminded me of Abuelita hot chocolate. The Great Gatsby was an 8.5/10. I liked the combination of white and dark chocolate, though it was sweeter than I prefer, so I asked for some hot milk to tone down the sweetness. They have three locations, all in the downtown area. Since it was a Saturday morning, there was a long line, we waited about 20 minutes to order and another 20 minutes for our drinks. The staff was extremely nice, but the process felt a bit chaotic. They didn't take our names and simply called out the drinks when they were ready. This place used to be fairly good. It was my go-to coffee shop if I needed to meet anywhere in Austin. There used to be a very friendly barista who worked there, but I haven't seen him around lately. The coffee itself is good. The baristas, however, make it obvious that they do not want to be there. I get it, this place gets exceptionally busy sometimes, and they're just trying to push drinks out as fast as possible, but there is no need to put out bad energy as if the next latte made will be the last one before walking off this job. If you have one question about the menu, they immediately treat you like you are bothering them. They have inconsistencies on their menus, and the staff treat it as if it's your fault somehow. That was the best part of the experience I couldn't get on wifi as the sign in page wouldn't load (tried multiple times connecting/reconnecting, using different browser, etc). I finally when to the bar and asked for help, and the guy just looked at me dumbfounded, basically said it was my problem, and offered no solutions. This used to be my go to coffee shop to study at, until I realized it actually sucks for that lol. It's lit horribly at night with very dim overhead ceiling fans that create an unpleasant feel. It's always really muggy, warm, and almost humid inside. It's like it doesn't get enough air circulation. They never have enough outlets and some don't even work. The prices on their menus are outdated and things always cost a dollar or more when you actually get rang up. The baristas play the most horrible music, making it difficult to study even with noise cancelling headphones. The cute long hair blonde guy that plays ambient music is cool though . Most of the baristas are insufferable, complaining all shift (loudly). Their WiFi is also really slow and sometimes it doesn't even work for me at all. All in all, every time I come here to study, I sit down for 10-15 minutes and then realize I'd rather be at home. Lol. Their coffee is pretty good though, straightforward and not too expensive. Three hours of Wi-Fi included with any purchase staff here are all amazing and the service is super accommodating if you're unhappy with your drink or order... This is a very convenient location just off of Congress and offers free parking for customers, which is always appreciated in this area of Austin! Based off of how many people were working/studying remotely here, it seems like they have a pretty steady customer base who takes advantage of this location, the parking, WiFi, and coffee/food options. I stopped in for a quick coffee and, after asking about the various specialty drinks, ultimately decided to try the Honey Cloud Latte. While the coffee itself offers two shots of espresso, I found the drink to be incredibly weak and the espresso too watered down. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough flavor as a result and the entire drink was a bit lackluster. While the service was great and the employee was very helpful, I don't think I'll come back for the coffee. They do offer various pastries, sandwiches, macaroons, etc., but there are better coffee shops in Austin as far as the coffee itself is concerned. If you're looking for a great place to work or study remotely, this seems to be a popular location and they (per the signs) just ask that you purchase an item, which is a reasonable request. Prices are also not unreasonable for the location. The seating and chairs were spaciously arranged and it wasn't overwhelming for sound. All in all, this is a casual coffee shop to comfortably come and stay a while, but if you like a bold espresso, keep looking. They do offer other options, so maybe check out one of those! read more

Best chai I've ever had!! I got the iced chai tea latte with oat milk! I love chai tea and always get it from Starbucks but other coffee places never taste quite as good but this place raised the bar! My boyfriend got the pecan cold brew and said it was amazing!! I was impressed to find a coffee shop that is still open late. Was really disappointed when I walked in with my stroller to see the steps down and that we would be unable to go up to order. I found the sign outside that we would have to go around back to come inside and be able to order. It was raining and I had a fussy baby, none of those being Bennu's fault but it made me think of my family member who has a disability who would struggle with this greatly. It's easier for me to figure out a way in- even with the inconvenience but it seems like they could figure out a way to configure the space to include a ramp inside. read more

I hate to drop people under the bus because I'm in this industry too for the time being but I had a really bad incident there. Backstory I go to school during the day so I can come to this place a lot at night because it is open 24 hours. I do have a scooter when it's folded down it's probably about 8 inches high 30 inches long I always put it underneath the table you know it's always out of the way it's never been a problem never been a problem. So I go in there today I have got a ton of homework to do ,.do by 12:00 tonight I figured I was going to probably be there till 12:00 tonight. So soon as I come in there you know I'd start folding down my scooter and some guy on a computer sitting down is like hey man you can't bring that in here and I'm like excuse me he's like no you can't bring that in here and I was like bringing here all the time it's you know coming at night. And he immediately just gets up he's like no you can't bring that in here and by that time I'm starting to get a little irate and I was like f you and when I said that he identified himself then as a manager not before but then. I told him straight out it's like listen man I bring in here all the time I put it underneath the table you tried to say it's a fire hazard I was like it's underneath the table I know what a fire hazard is I've managed plenty of places. Thent he accuses me of being homeless and going to call the police on me and by that time I was just like you're a freaking prick and I left. Like I said I don't like to throw anybody under the bus but he was just such a condescending a hole to me. I even tried to explain to him that the reason I don't like locking my scooter outside is because thieves go around with bolt cutters and they will cut that and it's a pretty valuable scooter I have.
