After Many Months and even Years, the San Leandro BART Station fixed their…read moreaccessibility / elevator issue by building a fence around the street level platform so you can walk through a path and tag out at their new Fare Gates. Previously, you would have to tag out upstairs but people were following others outside the fare gate evading the fares. That being said, being in a closed environment can be dangerous at night if someone is following you in that path and up to no good, in that case use the regular escalator / steps for a safer path of exit.

CA voters approved a series of bridge toll increases one this year and I think one or two more to go. I have a feeling people who have the morning commute and have to cross it everyday voted for the increase in hopes that it would make the commute faster as people would choose other options. If you park your car all day at Bart I would suggest not driving a truck or old Honda or any other popular vehicle. I think a five year old Hyundai would be optimal - nobody would want one of those even for free. As you sit on your Bart train soak in the sights and smells of fellow passengers. I've got one friend who used to use the train every day because it was reliable in getting him to work on time. He suggested putting in ear phones and avoiding eye contact. I really don't take Bart enough to give such insightful advice - I'm more in awe or bewilderment how when the trains go around bends - all the noises - the grinding - its terrible. Its something you would expect from a much lesser country - not the U S of A.

I'll give it to them they have on time accuracy. When they a bus is going to get there it will get there. Had used to walk down Watkins to go to the Lucky's shopping station but now I can get there easier now since Bus 41 lets off in front of the BART Station and City Hall. It's only $2.25 for a one way. I was about to take an Uber and the surge pricing was super crazy and so was a cab but was not really in a walking mood today and this really did the trick. FYI They do accept clipper on your phone and also on your watch so you don't need to use your plastic card any longer. I found the Apple Watch payment to be better than the physical clipper card because when you add value it becomes immediately available. With the plastic card it takes a day to load.

AC Transit drivers used to be friendly and polite-and I don't know what the problem is..........but now both AC Transit drivers and management don't seem to be interested in providing safe, reliable and frequent service to the public. Over the past thirty years or so, service has been cut in many East Bay Middle Class neighborhoods, a slow but steady decrease in service- and missed runs as well as buses showing up late - have made bus service less reliable, and resulted in missed appointments and work shifts. But add to that - intentional and avoidable rudeness by AC Transit drivers - means I probably will avoid AC Transit in the future.
