Very convenient way to get to San Jose and trains are clean. The PA system at the station doesn't always work and it is never on time!!

BART - Castro Valley Station

As far as Bart stations go - one of the better stops. Bridge tolls went up - this is one way to…read moreavoid them. CA voters approved a series of bridge toll increases one this year and I think one or two more to go. I have a feeling people who have the morning commute and have to cross it everyday voted for the increase in hopes that it would make the commute faster as people would choose other options. If you park your car all day at Bart I would suggest not driving a truck or old Honda or any other popular vehicle. I think a five year old Hyundai would be optimal - nobody would want one of those even for free. As you sit on your Bart train soak in the sights and smells of fellow passengers. I've got one friend who used to use the train every day because it was reliable in getting him to work on time. He suggested putting in ear phones and avoiding eye contact. I really don't take Bart enough to give such insightful advice - I'm more in awe or bewilderment how when the trains go around bends - all the noises - the grinding - its terrible. Its something you would expect from a much lesser country - not the U S of A.

I gotta hand it to BART, I thought they were gonna let this unincorporated town down but they…read morestepped up to the plate (baseball pun intended). We have our shiny new entry/exit gates that reduce the risk of fare evasion! They even fixed a gap between the gate access entry and the new gates which I saw someone jump on day one. Now, you gotta really want it to get in and out for free, and frankly, I don't think the fare evasion community has what it takes with these new gates. We are back in the 5 star Yelp game people!

Affordable Charter Bus Rentals

I chartered a school bus to transport my wedding guests to and from the venue at the Brazilian Room…read moreat Tilden Park, Berkeley. I had some problems initially contacting them through email, as for some reason my email was in their spam folder. I then tried to call the company, and we kept missing each other. Eventually we spoke and I was able to call a few references of past clients, since I didn't see any reviews online. On the day of my event, the guests got to my venue on time and Edgar was there waiting to pick us up at the end of the event. He got us all there and back safely, and I was so happy with the service he provided. Not to mention that the school busses are in great condition and also a more affordable option that some other shuttle services. I would definitely recommend this company if anyone is looking to charter a school bus for any event!

Edgar was very friendly and easy to work with during the planning and coordination of our wedding…read more We immediately felt more comfortable working with Affordable Charter Bus Rentals than other companies in the area. Edgar actually seemed to listen to us which made us feel more confident. Edgar arrived on time and was patient as we tried to get our guests on the bus to depart. The only problem was that Edgar didn't seem to have a strong grasp of which roads to take around San Francisco and the best routes to take to and from Tiburon. We probably could have helped by providing him with the most efficient routes. All in all, I would use them again.

this is a convenient location four taking the Amtrak train and also for picking up passengers. They…read morehave several spots for accessible parking near the terminal building and also ramps. They also have a race lift for helping passengers on wheelchairs to get on the train. There is a café on site that was opened when I was here on a Saturday around noon. They have several garbage cans and the station looked very clean. I also noticed that there is no easy way to go from one side of the station to the other, the only way to cross is by walking all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then crossing there. There are parking lots on both sides of the railroad tracks and they are separated by a fence so like I said, if you need to go to the other side, just walk all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then cross. You have to pay for parking and they have machines where you can pay by using a credit card. They also have a bicycle parking locker and you can pay at the storage container. also, I did not think it was very easy to tell whether trains were running on time or not. There was a sign that was getting updated, but I still found it somewhat confusing. I think it's probably easier just to check the Amtrak app.

(Review is for the bus stop area near the train station but related to the train)…read more I understand that the train is honking their horn for safely but sometimes they honk it excessively. If the train is coming, you'll need to wait for the bus by the benches away from the bus stop sign. The horn is 80+ dB which your iPhone will make you aware of if you stand by the bus stop sign when the train's horn is blasting and you'll get an excessive noise warning on your phone. I haven't gone on the train but it looks convenient for commuters.
