"No cocktail service" This is my usual transfer point if I'm on the Fremont train and need to transfer to Dublin. It's pretty much what you might expect. Reasonably well maintained, but not all that great. There are plenty of covered seating areas with reasonably comfortable benches. "Help us to keep a BART safe and clean, and also avoid a $250 fine." Comforting messages were piped in every few minutes. The station seems to be pretty well maintained. There were no overflowing trash cans.

Transfer trains here. But don't put your clipper card in the "insert card here" slot. It's got an RFID chip in it, so you place it on top of the turnstile deal and the silly plastic looking things spread for passage. (sound dirty enough yet?) ...and you actually have to pay attention to the trains when transferring.

I don't really know the criteria for rating a Bart station but here goes... The Bay Fair Bart Station offers free parking in the front and back. It offers at least two hundred plus car spaces. From the back you must walk down a flight of stairs and back up another flight. It's like an underground alley that is a little creepy during the nighttime. During business weekdays expect the parking lots to be jam pack full of cars. It is impossible to attain a parking space after 9:30 AM. If the parking lot is full, you'll have to park in Century Movie Theater parking lot. There are signs that state "Customers Only", yet everyone seems to park there and I haven't seen anyone get a parking ticket. It's a pretty good walk from the movie theater lot to the bart station, about 2 blocks (CA sized). The worst feeling is seeing your train approaching. You can probably make it if you run. Once I made it from the movie theater parking lot and onto the train in 3 minutes. While patting my sweaty forehead, I told myself to never be late ever again. On weekends it is really easy to find parking unless there is some extraordinary event taking place like New Years Eve. There always seems to be some security guards walking around the station during the morning and rush hour. It makes me feel secure; although for the rest of the day they're seem to be missing. There is a hot dog vendor right outside the station. He has your typical hot dogs, bagels, bananas, chips, and drinks. For some stuff he doesn't label the prices and sometimes comes up with his own pricing. The hot dogs are pretty awful and overpriced. Only buy something here if you're desperate. Although Bay Fair Mall is atrocious, they do have some okay food chain stores like Jamba Juice and Starbucks located near the back of the mall. For tracks and bart routes, refer to the Bart website. The Bay Fair Station is a better station than the Hayward City Hall station because it links up to more trains. The seating in the bart trains is pretty horrendous depending on which seat you get. Some seats are stained to oblivion. I don't want to know what the stains are from, but my over-active imagination sure doesn't help the situation. The smells are just as bad. The pattern of smell and sight continues to the carpet flooring. What genius thought of this? Most of the time I feel like wearing a full-body plastic suit like those government agents in ET. A gas mask wouldn't be bad either. It's a horrible feeling to know that you've taken a shower, put on clean clothes, and done your best to look presentable, to then get onto a train that feels like an unsanitary sardine can. There are some compartments of trains that have plastic seats and nonstick flooring. These compartments feel like the NYC subway trains. There are posters asking the passengers if this is a good idea. I say "HELL YEAH!!!" Bart fare isn't the greatest but it sure is convenient, fast, and better than driving. And competing with the skyrocketing gas prices, choosing the Bart/Muni is a no-brainer. Go to select vendors for discounted mass fare tickets. __ A typical Bart Station with a lot of free parking. Stay away from the shifty eyed freaks (that includes the hot dog stand) and odd luggage.

Today riding bart to work..the cars are so empty...love it... looks cleaner...hehehehe

This bart station is very stinky...I wonder if there are people cleaning or atleast looking after the welfare of the commuters. The smell of pee and whatever is all over. Please, clean up...you increase your parking fee... stinky place affects the health of the commuters.

CA voters approved a series of bridge toll increases one this year and I think one or two more to go. I have a feeling people who have the morning commute and have to cross it everyday voted for the increase in hopes that it would make the commute faster as people would choose other options. If you park your car all day at Bart I would suggest not driving a truck or old Honda or any other popular vehicle. I think a five year old Hyundai would be optimal - nobody would want one of those even for free. As you sit on your Bart train soak in the sights and smells of fellow passengers. I've got one friend who used to use the train every day because it was reliable in getting him to work on time. He suggested putting in ear phones and avoiding eye contact. I really don't take Bart enough to give such insightful advice - I'm more in awe or bewilderment how when the trains go around bends - all the noises - the grinding - its terrible. Its something you would expect from a much lesser country - not the U S of A.

We have our shiny new entry/exit gates that reduce the risk of fare evasion! They even fixed a gap between the gate access entry and the new gates which I saw someone jump on day one. Now, you gotta really want it to get in and out for free, and frankly, I don't think the fare evasion community has what it takes with these new gates. We are back in the 5 star Yelp game people!

Well sometimes they offer special ferries for the Giants or Warriors games in SF. Atmosphere - Beautiful. I hike/bike here at times as well. Plenty of parking, 250 spaces, no overnight parking allowed. 20 bike racks available, the ferry is bike friendly as well. 24 bike lockers available. AC Transit = 21 line. Public restrooms, don't expect much. Service - 5 stars. My favorite form of travel, especially with the continued discounted price. It has gone back up slightly, but still very affordable. Thank you. Approximately 20 minutes to get to SF. Also, since I have lived in Alameda, the ferry service has always been on time. This ferry, similar to Sea Plane, operates only Monday to Friday. So if you go on a weekend, you need to take the main ferry. Price - $4.70 one way with a clipper card. Still almost 50% off versus pre-pandemic prices, thank you. Also just discovered the main ferry only cost $1 to go to Jack London Square; so why am I still driving to the Rosenblum winery??? Wait, I also just discovered a free water taxi and I can't wait to try that! Main Island ferry special event tickets - $10.75 to Chase Center. Owner Comment - Thanks for having a ferry on the south side of the island! So much better than having to drive to SF.

Sadly, I'm that person who easily gets motion sickness (inner ear issues since i was kid) and down for the count. *sigh* Deep-sea fishing....[feeding the fish that trip].....Cabo San Lucas Booze Cruise...[sick before my first drink!]....and even being a passenger in someone's car in stop-and-go traffic....its just not fun! I'm glad my friend suggested we take a trip to the City via ferry...sure, i was a bit hesitant but got over any anticipation anxiety and enjoyed the trip immensely. It wasn't bad at all! Fortunately, the water was calm, staff super friendly and helpful, ferry clean and just a fun and scenic leisure day! For a Monday (10am) outing, parking lot wasn't too busy with plenty of opened spots. I would highly recommend being a tourist for the day as sometimes, we take for granted the fun things you can do in our own City. The ride back about 20 mins) around 4:40 pm wasn't busy with plenty of seating available. Paper tickets can be purchases on the Ferry or get that Clipper card which is an all-in-one transportation, form of contactless payment. Makes it super convenient. Round trip fare under $10. https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/get.html Drinks and light snacks offered for purchase, restrooms available on the vessel. FINAL TIPS for my fellow motion-sick friends: take an OTC dramamine, enjoy the fresh air, sit/stand forward...don't pick a windy day! You're welcome! :)

On the day of my event, the guests got to my venue on time and Edgar was there waiting to pick us up at the end of the event. He got us all there and back safely, and I was so happy with the service he provided.
