Mr. Buendia and his team planned out the job, gave us a reasonable estimate, told us from when to when the job was going to be done, emailed us job proposal, we agreed and signed contract, and the the job started. They covered floors and stairs to prevent any damage, while we made sure they had access to an empty bathroom. In the middle of job we discovered that we needed to reinstall 'all walls, which we did not know when we started. Mr. Buendia and I went to the Tile store on Eisenhower Ave., and we chose together a tile that would fit and look great, and align with remaining ceramic floor. The team worked in coordinated way, and the end result is truly terrific! We are very satisfied and very much recommend Mr. Buendia's team to others. Prior to this job we had also hired Mr. Buendia for other jobs, redoing siding and trim on a townhouse, replacing basement foor with tile, replacing ceiling tiles with a true ceiling, painting, installing storm doors. The outside deck needed to be redone, the fence needed to be cleaned and painted, cracks on the bricks had to be mended and the whole front repainted. After providing a thorough estimate, they completed the work in just over a week. Everything turned out better than expected, on time, and on budget, even with additional work not previously anticipated. We would like to caution neighbors about our experience with damage repairs from American…read moreRestoration. They contracted to replace our roof and repair the ceiling damage in two bedrooms. Soon after the "completion" of the work, we noticed a new crack and what appeared to be water damage in the same spot in one bedroom. We were concerned that the repair to the roof was faulty, but they resisted having an independent party verify that the new roof was sound before making a second repair of the same ceiling. In connection with replacing our roof, they contracted to replace gutters and downspouts, but replaced only the gutters and claimed that the calculation on the contract was for only enough linear feet to cover the gutters, not the downspouts. Did they think we would check their measurements and realize that the contract covered only gutters, when the line item was "gutters/downspouts"? When we realized that they had just reinstalled the old downspouts and questioned them, they offered to replace the downspouts for a certain dollar figure. When my husband responded that he would consider it, they immediately halved their estimate for the work. In addition, they tore up our landscaping and a neighbor's in bringing a dumpster down our long, narrow driveway and claimed that this was our fault for having such a driveway. We have had major bathroom remodeling done and, recognizing that the driveway is long and narrow, the contractor took the debris up the driveway in a truck, rather than a dumpster. American Restoration brought the dumpster down without warning us that it was coming and would block our driveway. Luckily, one of our cars was away from home when they did this or we would have been stranded through the whole course of the repair. Some years ago we used American Restoration to repair water damage in our basement and thought they did a good job. Not this time.

Their estimator came out and intently listened, laid out our options, and made sure we were all on the same page. He was honest and transparent about what could be done, what couldn't be done, and ultimately provided a very detailed, fair estimate. He was there when the crew arrived on the first day, and again took pains to ensure everyone was on the same page. The crew was respectful of the home, clean, efficient, and polite and friendly when we had to interact with them. The project manager visited the job each day and liaised between us and the crew, as opportunities for clarification arose. The crew's work was just as detailed and fastidious as the estimate, and everything they worked on, from the siding replacement to the exterior house painting and gutter replacement, went very smoothly. The end result exceeded our expectations, especially as the house is 70 years old with additions and oddly placed utilities and "old house things" that can make it challenging to work on. They took it all in stride and banged out some fabulous work, though! The house looks better than I've ever seen it. The good: Reasonably Priced and Decent Sales team…read more The bad: Zero project management or follow through. In March I contracted with Orion Home Improvements to demolish and build a new deck. They failed to anticipate a new plat was needed and had promised no permits were required, as they would simply be replacing old footings. Both things proved untrue and we spent another 2 months obtaining the required permits. During that time Orion was not communicating and I had to call they every week for a check-in. May 3rd arrives and materials are delivered, a dumpster is dropped, and workers arrive. First two days run fairly smoothly with demolition. Day 3 is a half day, 0930-1230, "we are waiting for the permit", meanwhile the demolition is not complete and the dumpster is not filled, debris is piled in the yard. Once the the first permit comes in, the process is 3 more weeks with 1-3 workers per day, working 3 to 6 hours per day. Nobody communicates when they are coming or going, they just sort of show up. Three total weeks later a beautiful deck. Final permit/inspection is cancelled and another week goes by to get everything approved. Bottom line: Orion Home Improvement is unreliable and I will not be working with them again.
