I say do not use this company for Fence installing of any type. No communication, no customer service and poor information in the estimate. Type of chain link fence ,Grade of soil.They dry bag the cement. Now post are all mostly loose and not aligned in line to each other When you complaint ,they turn it around and try to blame you for the issue you are having. The Field Supervisor said I was the biggest complainer they ever had. I stand up for myself and I am a retired Contractor and Realtor, I have installed and over seen the installation of many fence installs. The sale man made a drawling of the fence out line with measurements. The sub contractor did not follow it at all some short some long. Not one of the polls are in aline with each other in a line. The heights of all horizontal polls on the main top of the fence are not aligned on the fence. Will return with many photos to show you . read more

This company was great and I cannot say enough good things about them. First McGee's salesman Bill Dehart came through and provided a no pressure no hassle estimate that beat the competitors (and I shopped around with quite a few companies). once the measurements and style fence was selected a date was set for the install. These guys arrived on time and went straight to work. The project took two-days as promised and I could not be happier with the results. This company is truly staffed with professionals from the sales staff to installers to the billing dept and I would definitely recommend them. I was very disappointed with this company both in terms of work product and response. There was very little communication around when the start date was to occur (I was totally understanding about COVID-related supply chain delays) and they basically gave me little advance notice when they would start. After offloading their pallets of materials in the alley way which is the main egress point for our neighbors and leaving the site, they did call me back the next day and said they would remove it (after my wife and I spent 30 minutes moving heavy pallets). After they left the first day of construction, inspection showed the fence they installed was off level by inches, pickets weren't evenly spaced and it simply looked like very amateurish. I then asked the owner to call me and never heard back from him; in fairness, after a few days they did send a crew out and corrected most deficiencies. They left the site with a significant amount of old fencing still there in large sections which I now have to dispose of as well as a portion of my wooden walkway ripped up and not repaired. I have plenty of pictures to document the sloppy work. I never did hear from the owner but heard plenty from his staff when they wanted my to pay the balance owed. I would think very carefully about using a company that doesn't value the customer enough to return calls and would highly recommend if you do go with them, be on-site the entire time to monitor what they do. read more

We just finished building our new home and McGee helped us coordinate our new fence to go up the day after we closed so our 3 dogs would have a yard to run in. They complete the fence in one day, then the following week they began construction on our deck! They took care of all the permits and inspections giving us time to unpack! Both these jobs are finished and look better than we could have ever hoped! The guys that did the work were friendly, helpful and always prompt! The best thing I can say, is that it is a fence. Mcgee seemed like a good company right up until the day the fence was to be installed. I was told the crew would arrive between 9:00-10:00 am. By 10:30 no one had arrived so I called and was told that the crew would arrive by 11:30. When that didn't happen I called the office, four times, only to get a busy signal each time. At noon a truck finally pulled up and after 20 minutes one guy got out and came to the door. He said his crew would be arriving shortly. 5 hours later, during which time no one else ever arrived to help him, he tells me he is calling it a day. His crew had decided to go home early since it was a Friday. He also tells me that the estimator had screwed up and we were short one fence post. He says he could be back the next day, Saturday, or it could be Monday. So after taking off Friday, I spent half of Saturday waiting around, and then my wife had to take off Monday. No one called to let us know what was going on. And when a crew did eventually arrive Monday, which did not include the one guy from Friday, they didn't even bother to knock on the door and let me wife know they were there working. By the time I arrived home, I found that they'd left a mess. Dirt and rock all over the backyard. scattered around the ground I found 3" long screws, plastic strap, pieces of fencing that had been cut, and they dug up a large piece of silt fence from when the house was constructed and just left that on the ground. At least 2 spots where they started to dig a post hole but stopped after a couple of inches. Numerous holes from where they threw their digging bar into the ground. They set one post too deep, so their solution was to just dig up the dirt and run that part of the fence below the ground level. Looks terrible. And when I called the office to let them know about my dissatisfaction with their lack of communication and the unprofessionalism of their crew, they responded with, " oh wow, we're sorry, we don't normally hear that. How would you like to pay?" Great company read more

Great experience from beginning to end! Bill DeHart was very thorough in his explanations of various options, upgrades, etc. and understood our fencing needs very well. He was punctual and great with communication. The office was wonderful with scheduling communication. There were manufacturing issues with the fence, and they kept me informed every step of the way. I am sure McGee's work is great but I wouldn't know because they completely dropped the ball after our initial discussions. First, the guy that came out that did the estimate expressed concern about our sprinkler system and bluntly stated if they punctured it with a post I'd have to pay for it. The other two companies that we got estimates from said there was no problem, that they deal with sprinkler systems all the time and they knew where to put the post. After the evaluation, months went by and I never heard back with my estimate. I called and emailed McGee and got no response then finally got a hold of the guy who did the estimate. He said he was having personal problems but that he had gotten the paperwork to his boss and his boss would send me an estimate. I tried to call McGee back and talk to the owner who emailed me weeks later and said he'd have to come back out if I needed an estimate...I guess he didn't get the paperwork? The lack of communication and customer service was dismal. I found another company who behaves in a much more professional manner. read more

McGee Fence & Deck is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. We were going to contract them to put up a fence. Their office staff was very unprofessional. When we mention this to the owner and said we were going with a different company. His response was simply to talk about all the business he has done and is going to do and said he probably wouldn't be able to fulfill our expectations, which is sad because our expectations were not very high to put up a fence. Really seems like a no brainer. If the office staff and owners are unprofessional before a job is started I wonder what they would be like if you run into problems. Another example of customer service going down the toilet. It seems to be more and more the norm for a lot of businesses, yet we still give them our money. read more

McGee Fence & Deck came out last year and did a great job with a fence around my property. The fence is perfect! They worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Because they did such a great job with the fence we hired them again to do a deck this year. The deck is absolutely beautiful and McGee was willing to work with our budget. We ran into problems with the start date due to rain and there seemed to be miscommunication between sales and the contractors. I recently had a fence installed by McGee and I cannot express how great of a job was done to the project. The fence covers 765 ft and they were able to complete it in two days. The installers were courteous and worked diligently to make sure it was completed in a timely manner. I really appreciated how the foreman inspected the fence near completion and corrected any issues that I couldn't even see. I had a few estimates, and these guys came in under the others, in terms of price, so we went with them. They weren't radically cheaper, but still cheaper, and that was important to us. They managed to move our appointment up by a week (making our wait time only about 10 days from the time we signed the contract and paid the deposit). I thought it would take them a couple days, but they sent out 5 guys and the did it all in one day! Our fence wasn't gigantic, but it was about 240' with a few weird things... a hill on one side, a weird retaining wall on another, need for a lattice under the house so they dogs couldn't get out, and a tree in the way that we couldn't chop down ourselves so they removed it. They did quality work, the fence looks great, and the even sealed up around our shed (underneath) so our small dog couldn't escape. That wasn't part of the fence "deal" so it was thoughtful and very helpful of them to do it. The workers were polite and hard working, and the company was responsive...
