I have visited a few times and have enjoyed everything it has to offer! I purchased a few very reasonably priced gourds. They also offer their own take on different flavors of hard cider. Very nice orchard!

From the moment you pull up and see the barn red exterior and the bright oranges, golds, yellows and greens of the squash, gourds and pumpkins crated on the wide front porch, you know stopping was the right call. The open doors of the produce shed welcome you to come and browse the tables loaded with apples and the bins of corn and squash. Beyond that, through the doors that open to the back you can see the orchard. Every view is like a picture in a magazine. At visit to another orchard closer to home earlier in the season, the pickin's were slim, i.e. they had suffered a frost the year before and the apple crop was small and the apples were scarce and looked a litttle rough. But here the trees looked great and there were healthy-looking apples of every variety available. The ones I bought were delicious! And what's an orchard in fall in Michigan without donuts and cider? I meandered over to the adjoining shop and cafe and found both! There were blueberry, cinnamon-sugar and glazed pumpkin donuts. I can vouch for pumpkin! Moist and full of flavor, even the next day (I saved one for my morning coffee). I also picked up a loaf of apple bread, a couple bags of popcorn (grown there) and several jars of honey, compliments of Bennett bees-a jar of a spring apple blossom blend, summer wildflower and fall pumpkin. There is cold cider by the gallon in the case, but in the cafe next door hard cider! This sets Bennett's apart from most orchards and is clearly a popular feature. The cafe area is large and open and could easily host a small group of adult friends if you are looking for a fun, fall outing. (Covid restrictions in place) Photo ops abound here for families and the whole experience is so nature-infused, it would make a great family outing. Super easy access just a few hundred yards from Hwy 23. Well worth the drive down from A2 or up from Toledo.

This place was so cool! It was a little off the main highway, and very unassuming, but they had six different siders on tap and each one of them had its own very unique and distinct flavor. I was able to sit and talk with Jean Ann, the owner, for a good 30 to 45 minutes about her business and siders in general, and the way she treated me you would think we had been good friends for decades. Prices were pretty reasonable, I had two flights of three, so I was able to try all six of their flavors. I'm not huge on dry siders, but even their driest wasn't bad. Jan even managed to do a really good peach cider, and typically most places make them way too sweet, but Jean Ann managed to tow the line perfectly between two sweet into dry. It was a very pleasant surprise. She said they don't have a capacity to do enough to really do much in the way of distribution, but having it as an exclusive just to their farm makes it a little more special and add something pretty cool about the experience. Even though I'm a little bit bummed that I will have to make the 2 1/2 hour drive just to get more, as a special treat now and then it's worth it. When I think of a quality, local, family run business, this is what I like to think of. I truly enjoyed my experience and can't wait to go back again

my friend and I wanted to check out a new cider mill/orchard and this one had hard cider, so that's why we chose it. My main goal was to have CIDER DONUTS, I was so disappointed that they don't make them during the week, just on weekends. I was so sad, as I haven't really had any real ones in a couple of years. Now, the orchard was nice, the farm stand section was full of apples, gourds and pumpkins. Inside, the store there were jams, apple butters, caramel apples, popcorn and more. I bought a caramel apple and it was great! I also picked up some apple butter and a reduced sugar jam, I haven't tried those yet. Inside the bar area we bought flights of ciders and tried all 6 hard ciders available. Macy (Macie?) was the only person working inside between the store and bar, she was sweet and informative. I'd come back just because she was so sweet. We sat outside at picnic tables to try the ciders, that was fun and the orchard was beautiful. There are 2 resident Labs roaming around, we had fun with Grater, the yellow lab. Nice place, it was pretty calm during the week, but started to pick up around 2pm.

You can't pick your own apples here, which seems odd for an apple orchard. Especially since it is pretty large,

MacQueen's is a local business that has been around for years and not only do they offer pick your own apples and pumpkins, they have a nice produce selection, jam & jelly room, bakery (nothing better than warm donuts this time of year), cider mill where you can watch the bottling process, and a room full of Christmas decor. Staff is friendly and helpful even when they have a ton of people meandering about. Prices are fair for the quality of product and as I mentioned previously, their warm donuts are a hit! I'm glad we came earlier in the season because there was plenty of fruit to pick from! Why I'm giving this place 3 stars: - There was a hole in the wagon wheel, in my opinion, someone should be keeping up with small maintenance things like that since the season is about to be in full swing. - The older ladies who were working outside made me uncomfortable as I was walking passed an empty booth and were not very friendly about the fact that I didn't know about a blue ticket I was supposed to have (my dad was the one who paid to get the apples and was walking in behind me). I would have been understanding but they were just judgmental and condescending about it. If it's such a big deal someone should be at that booth ready to check tickets if they know people are driving up.... -Donuts were nothing special but they do have A LOT of yummy looking choices -Really good selection of apples but horrible signage. There is a map but you have to take a picture or study it really well or you'll have no idea what you're picking. -If you have a hard time walking, this is probably not the place for you. Overall, there was a super sweet girl working the bakery. There's a corn maze that looks fun and plenty of pumpkins to choose from so it's not my favorite place but I might be back for the maze.

However, this year they…read moreweren't open for picking so, craving the best part of a Michigan summer, I went to Yelp and searched and found Honey Bee. AND it was SO close to my house! I immediately went to their website and was thrilled to find out that they were currently offering picking from 10-7pm pretty much every day of the week. Hooray! So, this past weekend, I made my way over there. Long story short, I had a great experience! They have 12 varieties of strawberries that vary in size, ripening rates, and levels of sweetness. U-pick stretches out in rows over 3 acres so they've got alotta strawberries, my friends! The person running the u-pick explained that the strawberries in the rows next to the barn were bigger but more tart and the rows further from the barn were smaller but sweeter. I picked a little from both and in the end wish I had stuck to the smaller but sweeter, though they were all delicious! I just happen to have more of a sweet tooth. Despite the heat I managed to pick a full bucket, just under 6lbs. Berries are priced at $6lb and they do not take credit but you can pay via mobile with their venmo or paypal. They also take cash and checks. A few logistical things: the u-pick farm is owned and operated by local farmer's market mainstay, Tantre Farms. It's a no spray/pesticide free farm which means there are some weeds and tall grasses around. Some of the weeds are spikey thistle. They're easy to avoid but, because most people avoid them, I found a plethora of beautiful ripe berries around them. So it might not hurt to bring some gloves if you're like me and don't mind working a little harder for the good stuff. And because it can get muddy and there are other weeds and things in the rows wearing comfortable, close-toed shoes (that you don't mind getting dirty) are recommended. My only quibble is that I wish the containers for picking were the cardboard flats and not the plastic buckets with bags. The plastic bags don't allow for the air circulation you need to keep them fresher longer and in transferring them to another container I found I had smushed more than a few. Also, piling them all into the bucket puts weight on the ones at the bottom of the bucket/bag so they're smushed there, too. A small quibble but one they'll consider having the flats as an option. But of course if you're buying a large volume for jam making they're all gonna get smushed anyway sooooo.... Anyway, I'm not sure how much longer they have left in the season so if you're reading this around the time that it was posted I'd check their website for picking updates. They also offer raspberry picking so if you miss your strawberry window you might be able to scoop some of those up instead!

The whole family headed down that way recently to take advantage of the in-season fruit. It was our first time visiting Honey Bee, and we can't wait to return. After grabbing a bucket, we sauntered through the small bushes and picking ripe red berries. After we had picked everything that we could fit into the bucket, we headed back to the barn and grabbed some pre-picked vegetables to go with everything. Finn the dog welcomed us and let us pat his belly before we headed out. The berries were wonderful - so sweet and unlike anything you'll find in a store. Definitely worth a trip!

I hadn't realized before that there is a large room to the right of the bar area. We were there for a somewhat early dinner at 6pm on a Saturday and the place was bustling! Definitely make a reservation. (I used Open Table online two or three weeks in advance and it was very easy.) We were greeted shortly after being seated and our server advised us of the special entrees after taking our drink orders. We decided to split the roasted beet salad which also came with herbed goat cheese. Our server brought the salad on two plates- already divided. The salad was absolutely amazing!! I am seriously still craving it and the portion was so large that I couldn't even finish my half. Our server promptly boxed it up before our entrees were served. For the main course, I ordered one of the specials- scallops with rice sauteed with spinach. My friend had pork roast with carrots, which was a large portion - no complaints and she took home leftovers for another meal. I'll speak to my scallops... They were perfectly prepared, but there were only three scallops and a plentiful serving of rice and spinach. I love spinach and this side was very well seasoned. It didn't take long to eat the three scallops and the spinach pieces in the rice. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but wished for even one more scallop. Since my entree was a special that was verbally announced, I didn't know the price until I saw the bill. While it was delicious, I found the $41 charge a bit steep. The Standard is exceptional in almost every way- service was impeccable, amazing food, lovely ambiance- but be prepared for a pricey evening. My friend and I had a very enjoyable time and I definitely recommend this restaurant. I will say, however, that it can be difficult to talk because it is so busy. That said, it's popular for a reason! Check out the photos below for a virtual experience.

I personally like to see it on paper so I can view ingredients but Im going with the flow. The service is a stand out here. Started with garlic bread bites. Server indicated there is a light blue cheese drizzle that they actually drizzle at the table. Neither of us are big fans of blue cheese and made sure to tell her when she started. She said its very mild n not overpowering. It was not mild n it was overpowering. I love love bread n I only ate one square. French onion soup was good per the man. I wanted the chicken special but when I said Ididn't care for peppers the server said she didn't recommend it then. Not sure why peppers couldn't be removed? but I took her advice and chose shrimp instead. Shrimp n mashed potatoes for me. Lamb chops n some type of potatoes for him. It was fine. At the price point($200 for 2) I was expecting more than fine. They did bring him a bday dessert but as she stated they don't sing happy birthday. Ok then. Stashed the leftovers in the car and went next door for beers n bday shots. More my speed. I would come back if its someone else's choice
