I really like this place! It's small, but enough parking and things to do. We didn't do any apple picking this time but I know it's a smaller selection and less walking than other places nearby. This is the only orchard I know of that sells hard cider with a little lounge area. Even though I don't drink, this is a great hang out/ get together spot for sure, especially if you're into the rustic, farm vibe. They have a hay pile for the kids and a little area to play around as well as a good sized seating area outside with shade. What a pleasant surprise. On a hunt for cider donuts and they did NOT disappoint. We bought salted caramel, blueberry, strawberry and a bag of cinnamon sugar minis (not mini at all but very yummy). We will be hitting a dozen orchards this fall. From Michigan to Nevada. One of the tops is Bennett's. It's still a touch early in the Apple and foliage season for mid-Michigan, but these folks are well represented. They're always so friendly here. We always get great weather, too! Many Apple products as well as the apples themselves are available for purchase. Six in our party today split a gallon of unpasteurized apple cider and a dozen donuts. Between us we dropped over $200 in the country store. What with all the jams, jellies, popcorn and different baked goods, it was easy to do. From the moment you pull up and see the barn red exterior and the bright oranges, golds, yellows and greens of the squash, gourds and pumpkins crated on the wide front porch, you know stopping was the right call. The open doors of the produce shed welcome you to come and browse the tables loaded with apples and the bins of corn and squash. Beyond that, through the doors that open to the back you can see the orchard. Every view is like a picture in a magazine. At visit to another orchard closer to home earlier in the season, the pickin's were slim, i.e. they had suffered a frost the year before and the apple crop was small and the apples were scarce and looked a litttle rough. But here the trees looked great and there were healthy-looking apples of every variety available. The ones I bought were delicious! And what's an orchard in fall in Michigan without donuts and cider? I meandered over to the adjoining shop and cafe and found both! There were blueberry, cinnamon-sugar and glazed pumpkin donuts. I can vouch for pumpkin! Moist and full of flavor, even the next day (I saved one for my morning coffee). I also picked up a loaf of apple bread, a couple bags of popcorn (grown there) and several jars of honey, compliments of Bennett bees-a jar of a spring apple blossom blend, summer wildflower and fall pumpkin. There is cold cider by the gallon in the case, but in the cafe next door hard cider! This sets Bennett's apart from most orchards and is clearly a popular feature. The cafe area is large and open and could easily host a small group of adult friends if you are looking for a fun, fall outing. (Covid restrictions in place) Photo ops abound here for families and the whole experience is so nature-infused, it would make a great family outing. Super easy access just a few hundred yards from Hwy 23. Well worth the drive down from A2 or up from Toledo. read more

This place was so cool! It was a little off the main highway, and very unassuming, but they had six different siders on tap and each one of them had its own very unique and distinct flavor. I was able to sit and talk with Jean Ann, the owner, for a good 30 to 45 minutes about her business and siders in general, and the way she treated me you would think we had been good friends for decades. Prices were pretty reasonable, I had two flights of three, so I was able to try all six of their flavors. I'm not huge on dry siders, but even their driest wasn't bad. Jan even managed to do a really good peach cider, and typically most places make them way too sweet, but Jean Ann managed to tow the line perfectly between two sweet into dry. It was a very pleasant surprise. She said they don't have a capacity to do enough to really do much in the way of distribution, but having it as an exclusive just to their farm makes it a little more special and add something pretty cool about the experience. Even though I'm a little bit bummed that I will have to make the 2 1/2 hour drive just to get more, as a special treat now and then it's worth it. my friend and I wanted to check out a new cider mill/orchard and this one had hard cider, so that's why we chose it. My main goal was to have CIDER DONUTS, I was so disappointed that they don't make them during the week, just on weekends. I was so sad, as I haven't really had any real ones in a couple of years. Now, the orchard was nice, the farm stand section was full of apples, gourds and pumpkins. Inside, the store there were jams, apple butters, caramel apples, popcorn and more. I bought a caramel apple and it was great! I also picked up some apple butter and a reduced sugar jam, I haven't tried those yet. Inside the bar area we bought flights of ciders and tried all 6 hard ciders available. Macy (Macie?) was the only person working inside between the store and bar, she was sweet and informative. I'd come back just because she was so sweet. We sat outside at picnic tables to try the ciders, that was fun and the orchard was beautiful. There are 2 resident Labs roaming around, we had fun with Grater, the yellow lab. Nice place, it was pretty calm during the week, but started to pick up around 2pm. read more

Highly recommend this place. We were at another orchard in the area and someone recommended this place. We decided to go. Since then we have been back twice. The owner stopped and talked to us the first time. A great lady so friendly! And the cider yum!! Loved the flights ended up taking some growlers home!! So fun! read more

This place is amazing! They grow their own apples to make hard cider that tastes wonderful! The woman working today was super helpful and friendly! Their resident dog, Grader, was wandering around and very nice - they let us bring our dog and walk around outside with him. They have their own honey bees and make their own honey! We visited here on a recommendation from a friend. It's so pretty with the fall colors and looks cozy from the outside! They have wonderful smelling donuts, pies, and cookies. We got apple cider slushies, perfection, not too sweet. You can pick your own apples and they have different types of apples at reasonable prices already picked. Wonderful little orchard! I stumbled upon this sweet little business one afternoon driving home. I literally had just left another larger orchard, in search of some fresh baking apples because the price for a peck was outrageous. I was very pleasantly surprised at how reasonable their prices were. The female owner was so extremely pleasant and helpful. Along with having several varieties of apples, peaches, pumpkins and a few other fresh vegetables, they had a lovely store with fresh honey, popcorn, jams and fudge. Everything reasonably priced. What I liked the best was that it was a nice experience, with just what I was looking for and not a bunch of over-priced, commercial hype with mass-produced holiday-themed "crafts". Pretty little family run orchard with a nice store attached stocked with raw honey from their own bees and everything from farm fresh eggs, to Maple syrup, popcorn, and jams and jellies. And of course this time of year, cider and donuts! Excellent donuts! They also have a small tasting area for their BROKEN BARREL HARD CIDER! There are areas for kids to play, a small stack of hay bales and the like. Not a big operation, but I like the small mom-and-pop places. Very convenient to Southern MI! read more
