One of the staff found us as we stood in front of a large poster advertising Bengal Tandoori. I'm glad we followed him the restaurant (would have had trouble finding it otherwise) and we really appreciated this break from the typical Portuguese food. The tandoori chicken was really good ( just beware that the four pieces you get are all very small) still as part of the lunch special it was a filling meal. We also had chicken tikka masala. The waiter checked if we wanted cream and also the spice level. We opted for yes on the cream and no on spiciness - I think I would have been better otherwise but I appreciate that they asked and gave us what we ordered. read more

Had an amazing meal here. They have a great lunch specials which include a samosa (if that's one of the specials you pick) naan, rice, your main dish and a drink for a really affordable price. The flavors are spot on. The food is freshly prepared. The ambiance is nice, but it's a bit tucked away and difficult to find, if you don't follow their signs. A really added bonus, is they don't close after lunch hours like the rest of the Portuguese restaurants around the area. Honestly, this was some of the best Indian food we have had around the world. The Palak paneer, chicken tika and Naan were exceptional. The owner and server were genuinely friendly. Make sure you give this a try when looking for a restaurant in the beautiful village of Sintra. read more

Bengal tandoori was tough to find but worth the wander. Google maps did t get us there. Just close but the smell got us the rest of the way. Delicious korma, curry, naan, and butter chicken. I heard Portugal had good Indian food and this place didn't disappoint. read more

Came here on a whim, it was delicious through and through. Had vegetable samosas, butter chicken curry and makai kofta, and a couple of naans. The food and service were both excellent. Our server was always attentive and checked back frequently to make sure we didn't need anything else, which is always appreciated. We had mostly indian dishes, the pizza was not as good but that is to be expected at an indian restaurant. My family stumbled upon this place given an advertisement pamphlet. Not on the main center street but very near the national palace of Sintra. My family enjoyed a few of their meals including the tikka masla - very creamy and delicious, chicken curry - nice tomato flavor, tandoori chicken - tender and flavorful, and the spaghetti bolognese - simple and easy. Our waiters were patient and kind and the outdoor seating was pleasant in late may weather. We ended up coming back several times during our three night stay in sintra. We were looking for lunch at around 2 pm and Bengal tandoori was open. We ordered some paneer sabzi and naan. Paneer was ok. Not the spices we are used to in paneer dish. Naan was thick and fluffy. This place had indian murals painted on the walls and had was interesting. The service was a little slow but overall no complaints. We did not have much expectations and it was an average Indian restaurant. Been travel around Portugal for the last two weeks and this is the ONLY Indian restaurant that makes typical Indian food with the same flavors you get in India and the US. The service was top notch! They all were really accommodating to any substitutions and answered any questions we had. They also kept checking in on us and how our food was. We wanted to get off the main strip to eat so we found this little tucked away spot. We were there right at open so service was attentive. When I went to order one dish, our server suggested a more delicious option which I will always appreciate. Both dishes were so flavorful and tasty and served with a candle underneath to keep them warm. My partner loves spice so they brought out an extra dish of chilies for him. More delicious and cheaper than any Indian food we get back in the States. read more

Bad enough place to prompt me write negative reviews. Very rude staff, in fact first restaurant we found in Portugal with rude staff. Not a single smile on anyone's face! Food is mediocre at best, we had Pizza only, cheese felt stale and dough was soggy! Toppings were sparsely used. We had a great meal here! This place is perfectly tucked away from the crowded street. The prices are good and everything was delicious. The naan was perfect and the spices were really good. We asked for mild and it was very mild, so if you like a little spice, ask for it. We prefer mild to too spicy, so this was perfect. Great restaurant tucked away off the main touristy street in Sintra. Butter chicken was flavourful and creamy, other guests tried the aloo Chana and mixed vegetable curries and they really enjoyed those as well. Garlic naan was also very tasty with tons of fresh garlic pieces. Excellent prices for everything including rice and paratha, we spent about 40 Euros for 4 people. Would visit again! read more

Nice patio, good service, solid Indian food. I had the mixed biryani and vegetable samosa with a local white wine. The food was definitely "Portuguesified" (new word?) but I didn't expect them to have all their ingredients straight from India. It's a great choice if you're craving some flavor beyond traditional Portuguese fare. If you're used to eating Indian food in the U.S., UK, or India..: don't expect the exact same intensity.
