We had a great experience at Swaagat, especially given that we were a large group of 19 people. The restaurant was very accommodating, and the host and staff were super pleasant, welcoming, and engaging throughout our visit. We started with paneer tikka and chicken tikka--both came in generous portions and were freshly made. The chutneys paired really well and added to the overall flavor. We also had a bottle of Piano red wine, which surprisingly worked quite nicely with the food. For the main course, everything was delicious. Standouts for us were the butter chicken, palak paneer, biryani, prawn curry, and garlic naan. The food tasted very fresh and well prepared, and you could tell care went into each dish. Service was fast despite the size of our group, which we really appreciated. Most importantly, everyone had a good time--especially the kids. After a week of protugese food we wanted a break and had indian. No regrets, this place was fabulous, we even came back on a day we were too tired to find a place to eat so we just came back here since it was so good the first time. I had the meat and seafood thali, both were good, but I definitely preferred the meat one. Chai isn't on the menu, but they said it we'd available when I asked. The chai was also quite good and in a really cute pot. One thing that could have made it better though is if the pot had better insulation, the tea got cold really quick. read more

Amazing service and food! Probably our favorite meal in Lisbon. We were greeted warmly by everyone working at the restaurant. Service was prompt and food came out quick. The paneer tikka masala was incredible! We also order some cheese and garlic naan and a side of rice, all of which was very good. And the restaurant was BEAUTIFUL. Clean and colorful space. Had lunch at this restaurant today....here are my thoughts: Service is excellent. Friendly and accommodating! Ambiance is really nice. Casual but well decorated and very clean. Food is really excellent. We had Aloo Gobi, Jeera Rice, Chicken Saag, Kachumber Salad, Chole, and Naan. I think this was some of the best Indian food I've had (and I'm half Indian). Prices are reasonable and quantities are good. My only issue is that this restaurant charged us to take away our leftovers. I'm not sure if this is a country-specific custom but we were definitely taken aback. Overall we'd return for sure. read more

We tried so many things and everything was very flavorful. The lamb biryani is great with a lot of flavorful, make sure to ask it little spicy. The mango lassi is not bad but I have had better. The lamb Rogan Josh was great too , and the aloo partha was also good. Finally, their kheer was sweet and had nuts, I like it. The tikka masala was good and creamy but not a big fan. The food was okay. I have had better and worse Indian good elsewhere. The butter chicken was very flavor forward on tomato and it so creamy as I've had elsewhere. The Dahl makani was great, as was the lamb biryani. The staff is awesome. Sitting outside is nice because you get to people watch too, which is always fun. read more

When I say this is the best Indian food I've had, I truly mean it. I've tried probably close to 30 different Indian spots and this by far is the best. Their chicken tikka is served on a grill and you pour your sauce separately which makes it sooo much better. The daal mahkni is creamy and filling as well. Their garlic naan has chunks of garlic on it and it crispy af. Service is decent when busy and when it's not, the service is top tier. the owner/manager is nice and pretty sweet. Setting is a little over the top to express the Indian heritage but it's still nicely done. read more

This was a great place for Indian food. The staff was attentive and friendly. Always checking up if everything was OK and if I needed something else. It's centrally located. Food was good. Butter chicken and Naan was excellent. No complaints there. If you are craving some Indian food around the area definitely check them out. read more

This was the perfect choice for Christmas dinner and the last meal of our trip to Lisbon. The naan was head and shoulders above any other naan I've ever head. We tried the samosa, chickpea masala, and paneer tikka masala. Probably top 2 indian meals I've ever eaten. Beyond delicious. The staff was also wonderful-- warm, welcoming, attentive. I wish I could give zero stars. We came and informed the workers of my sister's severe allergy to nuts and cashews and they assured us that the food was all cooked in separate fryers and that it would be safe for her to eat. Imagine our surprise when my sister started feeling bad allergy symptoms. When we brought this up with the owner he tried to tell us that she was just feeling overwhelmed and that she should drink some lemonade and that it was certainly no fault of theirs. We had to call an ambulance and spend the night in the emergency room because her throat has closed up and she could no longer speak. The owner tried to use joke and use charm to absolve him and his restaurant from blame. AVOID coming here at all costs! Any restauranteur who would lie to customers about the safety of their kitchen and then attempt to gaslight you and your allergy symptoms is not worthy of ANYONE'S business. read more

We ate here three times on our trip (a rarity since there are so many options in the area). The tandoori was great and so was the biryani. It was the futbol world cup and the staff was super into it, which made the whole experience even more fun. Try the tandoori chicken with a Cobra beer. Heaven.
