I've been going to the BrowBar for a few years and I've had a good experience every time I've come here. I used to see Dawn and Royce, with Royce being my go-to guy until he left. He was a super nice worker and did a really good job with my brow waxes. I now see Dawn mainly and she's great too. She always does my brows nicely and makes sure that they're to my liking. It's super easy to make an appointment. They have a website with all the available times and you can choose your esthetician. I would recommend to anyone looking for a wax! read more

My friend and I came to this location on a recent weeknight for a brows appointment with Royce. Appointments can be made online. The brow bar is on the 2nd floor of Macy's near the interior entrance to Starbucks. Royce pleasantly greeted us both, and asked us to sign the required waivers and acknowledgements. He thoroughly sanitized his work are a and chair as well. He was very pleasant, friendly, and professional during the appointment. I've been going back and forth on getting them done. I've tried threading waxing everything. But recently we've been coming to Macy's Ala Moana. And we got right to it. She gave me complimentary eye patches during the appointment ( I wish I remembered exactly what the benefits were) & this pore mask for my nose. She started with the lamination , and I initially was going to do tint as well but I changed my mind during my appointment. There's 3 different steps before they're completed, and she'll check with you on the way you want them before they're set. And if you like the thickness or want it a little thinner. They came out a lot better than I expected. And although I live in Mililani, I might just come back to Ala Moana Benefit Brow to do them again with Dawn. This is my go-to spot for brow threading in Honolulu, and I've always walked out happy! Go to their website to see all available time slots and book an appointment online. You can request a certain aesthetician, but I've had positive experiences with all of them after coming here multiple times over the years. I trust any of them with my brows. I brought my daughter here for a first time eyebrow wax and Dawn was gentle, kind & patient with my daughter. I made an appointment online and brought my daughter in about 10 minutes prior to her scheduled appointment time. Dawn was very thorough explaining each process and shared information on the products she was using on my daughter during her eyebrow wax. She first applied an eye mask that BLT- "brightens, lightens & tightens" the skin beneath the eyes. She then applied an pore mask onto her nose, which stayed on for the duration of the eyebrow wax. I asked for a cleanup and brow shaping, which was done perfectly. She gently applied the wax and ripped the cloth off, followed be applying pressure to tue wax site. As a first timer, my daughter teared and said it was sore but it's expected. Once she was done, Dawn applied a moisturizer and primer onto to brows which aided in the redness. It costed $27 for an eyebrow wax, which is manageable on a monthly basis. Mahalo Dawn for being gentle and providing great service to my daughter. 01/27/2024 This was the result after booking an eyebrow threading appointment with Dawn. It doesn't look like she did anything to clean up my eyebrows. It does not look symmetrical, it looks like grown out eyebrows, nor does it look like she really tried-- and yet my skin is extremely agitated and irritated. Usually I'm offered whitch hazel or aloe vera afterwards to help with the irritation. I get my eyebrows done routinely and my skin has never been this agitated. This is my second time booking an appointment. The first appointment to my surprise included an under eye mask which I appreciated, yet she did not offer any mask at the second appointment. I probably will never come here again. I paid $28 UPDATE 01/29/24 Management has reached out to me regarding my Google review and they are being extremely helpful in finding a solution. I have added a photo of my sore eyelids, cuts, and abrasions that Dawn left on my eyelid after threading my left brow. It has been sore and hurting for days. I've gotten my brows threaded for 15+ years and I've never experienced this amount of soreness after a threading. By the way my brows look slightly better because I took it upon myself to tweeze & trim (trimming with scissors is something Dawn didn't even bother to do) and correct my own brows after the dissatisfactory service. read more

It's what you may or may not expect from a business being run out of a Macys... I walked up looking for information and a possible walk in appointment. The man working the BrowBar was with a customer, no problem. When he seemingly had a moment he looked me up and down, then proceeded to ask how he could help. I was admittedly a bit stunned at how the sharpie drawn oversized eye brows looked at me...as if I didn't belong.. at dare I remind you.. Macys? I asked if there were any walk ins available. He proceeded to roll his eyes and look one direction, while pointing over his shoulder in another direction at an icon I could scan. The kind caterpillar eye brow man then informed me no walk in since COVID - ya know that huge pandemic 3.5 years ago? I went there last week to get my brows done by Royce which is amazing (on my brows,)and he's telling me about this new magnet mascara that Benefit just came out with . I have tried every mascara Royce is recommended so I figure let me try this new one so I took it home and the next morning I put it on my lashes and I was totally impressed they made my lashes longer Fuller and thicker this is hands-down my favorite benefit mascara. I even love the brush. I wore it I think for about 17 hours that day I work in the front of the store and also the back of the store which is really hot so the mascara lasted even through the Heat so if you're looking for a new mascara to try out guarantee game changer try this one it called they're real magnet Mascara.. He explained the whole process to me and how the "Benefit Brow" works. He is an absolute miracle worker. Since my skin is more on the sensitive side, I was a little red afterward. He even put some concealer to hide the redness.. AMAZING and honestly, just thoughtful. Nobody likes walking around with red brows. Found the courage to schedule an appointment and went! My first time I had Jimell. I was pleased for my first time. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Her customer service, or actually, the whole team at the Benefit Brow counter are all pleasant! Everyone is always so helpful and friendly. How could you not come back? They will even ask if you have any questions about their products. They will help you for any questions. I've also had Courtney, Victoria, Malia, Nina, and Ashley. All awesome. Give all these ladies raises! What I like about the eyebrow connuiseirs, they remember you! I've been to Ashley only once, but she remembered doing my brows the last time I went to her which was two months before I visited again. I recommended my cousins to do their brows here. It is expensive to get your brows down, where other places you go to could charge you half the price. But the quality of work, the atmosphere, and the employees always makes me want to come back. The reason why I keep coming back is because of the ladies that do our brows, and the employees who work the counter. I like that it's located on the second floor of Macy's (Second level of the mall). It is a far drive for me, but it is worth it! I do like that they offer a birthday wax for free! I unfortunately didn't get to receive their eyebrow service. I attempted to see if they had an appointment available and a lady there told me about an opening at a certain time, proceeded to talk about a possibility for walk-in/stand by and asked for my information. I gave her my information without hesitation. I was under the impression that I had the appointment but also that she would call if an earlier appointment opened up. A few hours later I return, she is hiding in the back and an esthetician is asking me how she can help me. Only then did I realize: I had no appointment at all and wasted my time walking around to wait until that time! I left feeling silly. However, knowing and remembering how much limited information I got initially and no apology whatsoever, I'm glad I didn't make another appointment. Even though brow service reviews may be good there is definitely a lack of service, communication and clarity. I tried to give them another try and attempted to call the store - no one picked up. As a third and last attempt I scheduled an appointment online. On the day of the appointment I received a call stating that esthetician had an emergency and couldn't make it that day/time. Of course health and well-being is first (I sincerely hope she was okay) but after so many attempts in trying to get an appointment, I told myself: no more! I was very disappointed because I've been a big fan and customer at Benefit Bar in NYC for many years and absolutely loved my experience there. It's just too bad they couldn't have the same customer service skills and communication skills here. Having previously witnessed her work on my niece, I gave her full permission to do as she pleased. With a brow pencil, she'll trace the shape of what she thinks you're asking for as far as the end result. Then, she'll wax anything growing on the outside of those lines and pluck a few here and there from the lids. After she got my approval, she asked if I wanted them filled-in or brushed with gel, no extra charge. I'm a very satisfied customer and will definitely be coming back every 4 weeks! This was the first time in entire life I've ever gotten my brows waxed and there couldn't have possibly been a better place to go to! Being that my birthday was this month, a few weeks ago, I decided to start trying to grow out my eyebrows to take advantage of the free brow wax birthday special! Best decision I've ever made. My appointment was for 2:00 and it wasn't until maybe 2:05ish when I got called in. Five minutes, no biggie. I was anxious going in but the atmosphere was just very happy and comforting and Stephanie was the one who did my brows! She's such a sweet girl, very friendly. (If you're reading this, I'm sorry if it was awkward because I wasn't talking... but at least the other conversation made us both laugh??? lol) The mapping of the brows was done very well. At first I had a little doubt because I was so used to my thinner brows but I trusted her judgement because I'd assume if she gets paid for doing this, she knows what's she's doing... lol. The wax was warm and when she put the strip on, the removal of the hairs was very swift and practically painless... except for near the eyelid but it's tolerable. She soothed the redness with aloe vera gel and hid the redness with concealer and offered to fill my eyebrows in. My eyebrows have never looked so good. I've been doing my eyebrows on my own and taking a gamble with trusting somebody else with them was a risk worth taking. I loo0o0ove them! I visited the Benefit Brow Bar to get my eye brows waxed before my wedding. Of course, I went once before to 'test' it out to make sure I don't have an allergic reaction. The first time I went, I made an appointment before hand. It was a Friday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The woman that did the waxing was nice and very educational. She showed me what my eye brows should look like based on my facial structure and gave me pointers on how to shape my brows. The waxing was done well; I wasn't too red or swollen in the area and she did it quickly and relatively painless. Since I didn't have a reaction to the first waxing, I decided to go back to get my brows waxed before my wedding. The second time was also a good experience. They took me on time and the waxing was still quick and painless. The employees are all very nice, friendly, and easy to talk to.
