I went to the Benefit Cosmetics BrowBar inside Macy's Brooklyn yesterday (5/30/24) afternoon, and I had the BEST brow service I've ever had in a long time! I believe the young lady's name was Diana, and she was so warm, welcoming, and so professional. Diana took her time and waxed my brows which came out so defined, clean, and sharpe. That's exactly what I look for when having my eyebrows done. No stray hairs were left behind, and the service was well worth the price. I will be back every 3-4 weeks at this location. Remarkably bad job. I came in with full bushy brows, like fully grown out and a lot to work with. I generally do threading over waxing bc my skin is too sensitive to waxing. Never had an issue w threading sensitivity until I came to this and the other benefit brow bar in bk. The Threading experience was horribly painful, due to the person's excessively slow technique, it's like she was taking off one hair at a time. Pulling my skin and the hair along my hairline as well. Between every couple of hairs removed she would comb by eyebrows aggressively with an eyebrow comb which was incredibly irritating to my already irritating skin. Experience took 35 minutes, it was torture, and my eyebrows are uneven and the overall shape is not fierce. I will have to grow them out again. I left with horribly red eyebrows and the day after have scabs on my eyebrows from the irritation. She did feel bad that it took so long and gave me some free gifts. I would never go back here abs don't recommend this place or the other benefit brow bar on court st. They just don't SEE your eyebrows natural shape and constantly remove one hair at a time and the technique leaves your brows mismatched and with little holes. read more

I cant wax or thread. It irritates the skin around my eyebrows. The person who used to do it, moved and I was left with no one to maintain my brow. The other locations aren't really convenient. I was there for the official grand re-opening and saw that there was a location here. I was even luckier to get my eyebrows tweezed by Diana. I was very hesitant to start waxing my eyebrows again after getting them threaded for so long. But my make-up artist Samantha (who manages the Urban Decay counter in the same Macys) recommended Octavia. She raved about her skills and guaranteed that she would slay my brows. Boy. Did. She. Ever. All I can say is yahssss! Lol. I left benefit feeling oh so wonderful and def had a pep in my step. Octavia is so sweet and beyond gentle. I love that she outlines what she is going to do and gives you a mirror to look while she explains what hair she is going to remove. She also answers any questions that you may have. Octavia takes her time and gets all up in your brows in order to get every last stray. I definitely recommend her. You won't be disappointed!! read more

I work in the area and live in Westchester. I have been chasing the dream of finding someone who can do my brows (and not make me look like a surprised clown) since I was maybe 12? (I now have a 2-yr old son so needless to say it's been a while). At one point I was driving 45 minutes north every 6 weeks for someone who specializes in tweezing. I was hesitant about switching to waxing as I've been threading/tweezing for the last few years (although again to no satisfaction). Octavia does very precise waxing, taking more strokes than I've ever seen, she uses her hands to measure the length that should fit your face, and she is a real artist. If anything, I will need to keep my current job so I can get my eyebrows done! Gemma, who works at the brow bar as well is very friendly and should you have to wait for you appointment, helps you pass the time with beauty and product tips and trials. Highly recommend giving Octavia a try (hence my 5-star review). She is also very friendly and I hope people give her a shot! read more
