Okay so I never thought I would be going out of my way to leave a review for Ben and Jerry's. BUT I truly appreciate amazing customer service and honestly it's hard to find lately. I took my daughter to get some icecream today and the man working behind the counter was so friendly and just had the best customer service. While she was deciding, he offered her samples and honestly I would usually have to ask for that at other places. I also asked if she could get a smaller than usual serving size and he was quick to make that happen. I forgot to ask him name but he is such a gem. Love Free Cones Day at Ben & Jerry's! We had about a 40 minute wait but it was worth it! I got the Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and it was so chocolatey with actual brownie chunks inside! YUM! The service was quick once we were inside the store, and they even gave "front of the line" passes to families waiting. I have tried most flavors of B&J and love them all. In addition, it is the only ice cream that doesn't cause a bad feeling of nausea and bloat afterwards. It is also fairly priced and available nearby. We stopped buying other kinds since we tried B&J. read more

There's not much to say about a chain store like this, but there's nothing to complain about. Very kind employees! The folks working here are friendly, professional, and efficient. This company seems to hire well. The location is quite popular, although you can usually get a seat. If not lots of good places close by. It's a cozy place, and a nice choice for dessert. Their prices have gone up substantially. It's an opinion, but I think more than competitors. Their ice cream is pretty good. Personally I like other brands more. The German Chocolate Cake is tasty. Also their regular chocolate or vanilla works in a cup or cone. Gotta love Free Cone Day! There was a line out the door, but it moved very fast. I haven't gone to a free cone day in years but it's always a nice surprise when it arrives. I got the Tonight Dough (Caramel & chocolate ice creams with chocolate cookie swirls & gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough & peanut butter cookie dough) it was delicious and creamy. Totally unacceptable experience. I ordered a custom birthday cake LAST WEEK online for my daughter's birthday scheduled to be picked up at 11am on August 27th. It was supposed to be my daughter's favorite flavor. My husband took a detour home to pick it up from work (we live in another county and this was the closest location to us) and it wasn't even made at 4PM. Apparently the employee who makes the cakes is at college? No phone call. No email. Communication could have saved this review from being a one star. Manager gave my husband a card for 50%off a small cake but we were left with egg on our face with no cake for our daughter. We won't be back. read more

Thanks for the Free Birthday Ice Cream! Love that Ben and Jerry's offers a free cup or cone of ice cream on your birthday. Cashier was very helpful and sweet. He offered free samples and I gladly accepted. My favorite was the Cherry Garcia. It wasn't too sweet and had loads of cherries and dark chocolate pieces throughout. Their Phish Food is also delicious, you can't go wrong with chocolate ice cream, gooey marshmallows, caramel swirls, and fudge fish. The store is clean. There is a restroom in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. I can't say I'm a huge fan of their ice cream or that I'm a regular here. I try to come here at least a couple times a year because the ice cream is just so delicious. Probably one of my favorite ice cream places around here. My favorite flavor is the coconut 7 layer bar which is hands down the best flavor. You have to get it if you like coconut. Milkshake or sugar cone is good for me. The store itself is small inside with about 6 small tables. Summer gets incredibly busy, very long lines with not enough employees. Especially on the free cone days. First time visiting here along with a friend and I really loved their service. They have a cashier and a server. Their server was very friendly and kind and I enjoyed my time there. He was quick to respond to my request for service and he was able to fit my requested day into his busy Summer schedule. The ice cream parlor's ambience and feel is lacking, but you don't come here for the environment. What's important is that the ice cream you want is there and available. Who doesn't love a good ol' scoop of Ben & Jerry's? While it's true that my heart usually goes out to the local ice creameries in these parts (and it does still beat quite heavily for Frozen Dairy Bar's creamy frozen custard) but every now and then, I get a craving that only Ben, Jerry, and their delightfully punny ice cream names can satisfy. The store in Fairfax Towne Center is small but efficient, and the staff is always super friendly -- not to mention patient as my visits usually involve a 3 - 4 minute staring contest with the display cases, trying to figure out which flavor direction I want to go in. It's usually a battle of wills between Pistachio, Pistachio and Cherry Garcia, but every now and then I stray off the path most taken and end up with a heaping conefull of Americone Dream or Caramel Sutra. I've literally never been disappointed with a Ben & Jerry's flavor though. Heck, last time we went, Sean got the Triple Berry Sherbet and even that had my taste buds all a-quiver! First let me say I'm basing this rating on this particular location only. I love eating Ben & Jerry's at home on a hot summer day, so this review is not about the actual ice cream. I was on a date one Saturday night and after dinner at California PIzza Kitchen, we decided we'd get ice cream and walk around and sit by the fountain. Good way to spend a Saturday night, right? WRONG. We get in there and the line is at least 15 people long. Granted, it's a Saturday night at like 9pm, so I'll let the line thing go. But what WAS annoying is that the people working there didn't seem to be giving 100% effort in helping with the line. They didn't seem to want to get the line down at all. The biggest complaint I have though was the bathroom. Because the line was so long, I decided to run to the bathroom real quick. When I got in there, I almost threw up my dinner. It was the dirtiest, most nasty bathroom I'd ever been in. I think I've been in cleaner port-a-potties. There was trash everywhere, there was a foul odor, and it was quite apparent a previous patron had been in there earlier and had, what appeared to be, some massive "female issues". I won't go into the diguesting details, but it was horrifically gross. I quickly walked out and told my date I couldn't conciously eat anything from this place without probably throwing it up shortly afterwards. He ended up ordering a cone and throughly enjoyed it. The last thing I'll say, and this just sounds bitchy, but while walking around earlier, there was a worker from there (obvious by her bright tide-dyed t-shirt) sitting on a bench outside, sucking face with her boyfriend. Now, if someone wants to spend their break from work making out with their significant other, that's fine, but I wish she could hadn't done it in such a public place - because when we went in later that night for our ice cream, the girl scoopiing out the ice cream was none other than face-sucking girl and I really didn't want her to serve me food (which was a moot point after the bathroom anyways). read more
