Nice ambience. Very friendly staff. Not too crowded. Some excellent dishes on the menu, and fun mocktails.

The food is awesome, but the service is ridiculously slow even when no one is there. Food is definitely 5 stars though.

We found this place by accident and thought "why not?" So glad we did!…read moreWe enjoyed the food and the service was great! I had the French dip which was yummy. My friends had chicken fried steak (gravy looked kinda thick), crab cake Benedict(they raved about it) and the house burger(said was really good). Definitely recommend!

I was looking forward to try this place, having passed it countless times on my trips between…read moreCalifornia and Nevada. My partner and I were on a trip to Coalfax, so we decided to look this place up. While I had read reviews that criticized the waitresses and staff for their poor attitudes, I wanted to give the place a chance and not let negative opinions deter me. After all, everyone has different preferences and experiences. We chose to sit outside, which was a lovely idea, but unfortunately, the area was overrun with flies, making it quite uncomfortable and we had a hard time enjoying the experience. I understand that bugs are common in outdoor settings, especially in the woods, but I have a suggestion that might help alleviate the problem. I recommend adding a few more ceiling fans to circulate the air and deter the flies. I noticed that you already have some fans, but they're not enough. Please consider addressing this issue to enhance the overall experience of sitting outside in your beautiful outdoor seating area. Moving on to the service, the waitress was decent, but there were some uhm issues that made us laugh. When we placed our orders, we asked if there was a dinner menu, as my partner wanted steak. However, the menu we received was more suited for brunch. The waitress informed us that dinner wasn't actually available for another hour, but she was able to substitute some items for us and make us a dinner plate. Then our orders came and this is when we started laughing. Every time a healthier dish was brought out the waitress would hand it to my partner, who is smaller than me and every time something unhealthy was brought It was automatically assumed I had ordered the unhealthy food. It was actually the opposite but what actually bothered me is the waitress never asked us who's food was who's but she took the order lmfao so that made no sense. I understand that I'm the larger person, but it was a bit off-putting. We couldn't help but laugh as I've learned to laugh at awkward situations, but my partner wanted to comment, but I asked them not to. It wasn't worth ruining our dinner. Anyway the waitress seemed tired, uninterested, and moody but ultimately was kind enough I guess. I understand that we're all tired and have personal issues going on but you're at work. I would appreciate a smile and friendly treatment. Not a moody, uninterested, annoyed seeming waitress. I'm extremely kind, polite, and friendly, so when someone isn't that way to me, it's disappointing. Anyway all in all i actually liked this place. The food and the prices were great for the place it was. But please fix the fly issue and please remind your staff to be friendly to customers and watch the way they carry themselves PLEASE!

The food came out fresh, flavorful & decently fast. We enjoyed eating here with the friendly staff as well. It had a local "homey" vibe to it. I recommend the burgers & pizza.

Here is what we noticed: - Fun dive bar/restaurant vibe inside, a big place with a server waiting on the tables in the front room and a slew of extra tables in the back (just order at the bar). There were also lots of tables out on the deck. - Huge menu...and lunch specials too. - A fair selection of beers on tab, including at least one IPA and one Hazy. There were two canned NA beer options for my wife to choose from. - My wife and I ordered the BLTA sandwich and asked for the fries to be extra crispy. We also ordered the Taco Salad. Our plan was to split both. The sandwich was good, with tons of bacon but skimpy on everything else, and with bread that was pretty ordinary store-bought bread. The Taco Salad, was really good, with a homemade tortilla bowl/shell. The fries were good, but not particularly "extra crispy." - Service was great. Bottom line: Old 40 hit the spot after a morning on a nearby trail and in the sun, and it would also be great after a day of skiing, but it wouldn't necessarily be a place we'd go out of our way to visit.
