Bring back the Mobile ordering please. The service is absolutely terrible. They have one person who is trying to serve all of the stations. Most of the food is already cold as it's been sat there waiting because apparently they value the kitchen staff time more than the customer time. Then once you have your cold food, you have to line up again for a register of which there were only two open, and it took forever to ring up the items on the tray. Seriously what was wrong with the old system? Order what you want from the comfort of your table, get a text message when the order is ready, walk to collect, done. read more

They are making it easier to spend more money! Even on the safety bars on some of the lifts, Northstar is encouraging ordering food online. "Sit, Scan, Eat" is their motto. Sounds like you'd still need to pick it up. Best news is that indoor dining has reopened! Along with this, so have the restrooms. No more having to trek down to a cold restroom. There is a bit of a cafeteria vibe going on inside. Self-serve beverages and seating, although each table has a number? The ones outside do at least. Decent views, lovely natural lighting, dunno about the food, adequate facilities. Might bring a sandwich from home up here. read more

There are signs everywhere to order online, but not one of those signs told us the system was down. Eventually, we stood in a 20-minute line to order at the kiosk. We had to help the staff find the buttons for the chili. $22 for 3 small chicken tenders. $15 for a cup (not a bowl) of chili. Heaven help you if you don't like onions on top of your chili. It's sour cream/cheese/onions or nothing. Those are your options. And you'd better like them. To add insult to injury, the mountain ops guys behind us jumped the entire line because they're employees. Always nice to find you're the last priority at a customer restaurant. read more

Food is just okay and really overpriced for what you get. Veggie chili and fries are pretty good. But chicken fingers are dry and the ramen was luke warm. Didn't have their burger but those that did in our party seemed to enjoy it. My kid loved their mac n cheese. On the plus side, the lodge is nice, spacious and clean. The first time I saw this lodge I thought, "Wow! What a cool looking ski lodge!" The exterior, interior, restrooms, and dining room at this lodge are all top notch. There's even a great deck with a picturesque view of Northstar's slopes. It's a great place to stop for a break, lunch, or even a drink at the bar. If you can afford it... Unfortunately the prices are through the stratosphere at this lodge. Unless you think paying $17.00 for a cafeteria burger, without fries, that's been sitting under a heat lamp is reasonable. Movie theater prices look like a bargain in comparison! I know some people will think I'm being cheap, but if you already paid $157.00 for a day pass, they should throw in a free lunch. In my book anyway. Maybe not in the book of Vail Resort's accountant. In my opinion, it's a good place for a pit stop, a rest break, or to enjoy the view, just not to eat. In that regard, you're better off packing your own lunch! read more

Enjoy the views outside. No point going in right now other than to use the restroom. As others have pointed out, it looks great from the outside. You get off the lift, see the lodge to the left, and think that there might be a decent lunch option up on the hill. Unfortunately, the actual dinning experience is awful. You'll get much better food at any of the places down in the village ... for more or less the same price too, which is the crazy part. Sure, the Bourbon Pub at the bottom of the hill means you have to go to the bottom of the hill, but the food is much better, the service better, the seats better, etc., etc. Zephyr has a good view for sure ... but you get to enjoy that view in a crowded cafeteria setting. Imagine taking your entire family out to eat at your local AMC theatre. You wouldn't ... but that's Zephyr. Zephyr gives you added displeasure of trying to see the mountain through the heads/bodies of twenty other families and 3x pricing. AMC has a real person who will take your order. You won't get that at Zephyr. QR code on your phone, or use a kiosk. Good news, food comes fast (because it was already "cooked" 5 minutes before you placed your order.) If you want similar movie-theatre grade food (same microwave, same heat lamps, same burgers, same chicken fingers) you can get it elsewhere on the mountain. What's extra sad is that Zephyr is promoted as the upscale eatery on the mountain. Do you have friends and family that don't ski, but you want to spend some time with them during the day so they can see the smiles on the kids faces? It will cost them $48 for a lift ticket up. Then they get to experience all the above ... but with you and the kids. The view (on the lift and from outside Zephyr) and the kids smiles may be worth $48. Fair enough. The opportunity to then pay more for awful food definitely isn't. Reservations encouraged by not required. Proof of vaccination required. read more

The Zephyr Lodge is a great place to go to if you're looking to get away from the crowd at the main lodge at the base. Ordering food was extremely easy - just scan the barcode, order what you want, pay, and pick up at the counter. Their text/email notification didn't actually work the day that we went, but in theory, you're supposed to get notified when your order's ready. We just eventually went inside to grab it. We ordered the chicken noodle soup, which for the price, I would've expected a much larger bowl. It was probably no more than just a can of the soup you'd get at the store. The 4 stars is mainly for the convenience and views. Find a table outside and soak in all that beauty. read more

The Zephyr Lodge might be the only good option for lunch on the hill. There are other options down the hill but Zephyr is one of the nicer options on the hill. The building is large and can hold lots of skiers. The tables are very close to each other and its hard to get around if its crowded. I tried the salad and chili options and both were very good. They also have excellent burgers that are filled with lots of goodies. There's also an Asian option for those who want pasta or rice. The building is a Vail design because Park City has the same lodge on their slopes. read more

I want to preface by saying any time I go to a ski resort for lunch I'm expecting to pay an arm and a leg. That said, while the meal as a whole was definitely pricey, I'm negating that from the overall review. If you want a cheap ski lunch, then I suggest either packing it, or negating the age old advice and eating the yellow snow after all. With a burger I think there's a number of key components that it has to be broken down into, each with their own unique and equally important characteristics. The categories are as follows: bun, patty, sauce, toppings. Here's my breakdown. The bun: A great bun is crunchy upon first bite, and silky smooth as you dig into the bread. A good bun is a 5 on the enneagram. It wants to trust you and is going to tease you with your first interaction, but upon each bite as it trusts you, a bond is formed. The ciabatta roll for this burger did exactly that. At the end of the meal we had a mutual respect and appreciation for each other, and I know going forward that trust will remain. Overall: 5/5 The patty: there's nothing worse than an over cooked patty. I can compare it only to the disappointment of being a kid on Christmas morning, tearing into a present, and finding it to be white tube socks. The patty here thankfully was cooked well. It was a smooth medium, which while it was not the rad new bike I asked Santa for, it provided the excitement of a cool new backpack. Nothing special, but it gets the job done. Overall: 3.82/5 The sauce: I am a firm believer that In N Out spread will forever remain the ultimate sauce. I'm from California, fight me. This, however, was a worthy fighter. It had the remnants of a sauce that once lived on a double double, with the tanginess of barbecue mixed within. As someone who grew up in California but lived 4 years in Texas, it acted as the most wonderful blend of my understanding of food. As if a cowboy were shredding waves until the sun sett. Overall: 5/5 The toppings: good toppings make or break a burger. Mine had pickles, onion rings, bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. As you can see from the photo, it was stacked too high. I had to take components off to fit it in my mouth. Also I didn't like the choice of bleu cheese. It overpowered the sauce, and I felt the cheese should've been more subtle, like a calm cool collected slice of Swiss. Overall: 3.5/5 Lastly: the fries. There's something about ski mountain fries that just get me. They're all the same, and for that I thank each mountain in their consistency. I will never not give ski resort fries a full review. There's a lot of eating choices I wish I had made differently in my 22 years, however, these fries will never be a regret, no matter how much they've slowed my metabolism. Overall: 5/5 For a ski resort, this lunch spot brought it's A game. I used to feel as though I was cutting off an arm and a leg every time I ate on the mountain. But today, I felt I was only losing an arm. Maybe one day it'll only be a finger, but until then I'll happily take the experience of chowing down on an overpriced meal, looking at a view that far makes up for the cost. read more

The menu is paired down from what they had pre-Covid (ie no Zephyr burger with the little plastic epic toothpick, no salad bar, etc)-- it's pretty much just pizza, chili, burgers and fries right now! The price is also on the high end-- you are in north star after all, don't be surprised if you leave having spent upwards of 20-30 dollars just for a lunchtime meal! That being said! There is no more stunning a place than Zephyr Lodge to have your wedding. We got married 8/18/18 at Zephyr with Cara as our coordinator. While venue hunting, the first item on the list was atmosphere. We wanted something unique with a grand feel, yet warm and exposed to natural beauty. After seeing more than 15 venues, as soon as we arrived to Zephyr, we knew our search was over. The sweeping views of the Sierras are breathtaking and the Lodge itself is almost something from a Harry Potter book-- lofted ceilings, huge pillars, rustic chandeliers suspended from the rafters. It's romantic and charming, with the ability to style the interior to your liking. We had our ceremony outside, with cocktail hour on the deck, and reception inside. We have beautiful market lights strung on the patio, as well as over the dance floor, adding some texture and dimension to the space. There were games outside, bars artfully set up, and everything in it's place without worry. There was so much built into the venue fee and offered on site, it really made our planning easy. I will also say the onsite chefs set quite a high bar during our tastings (which were lovely-- we did 2!). Our guests still rave about the homemade biscuits and the salmon dish. It was an unexpected addition that really brought another facet of the wedding to life. The lifts were also a neat experience for our guests. A few folks thought they would have a hard time in heels, or with the height in general, but it worked out well. A few things to point out: Be sure to factor in the service charges while estimating your F&B costs. Ask the lifts to stop for guests that need it, or members of the wedding part. The venue is quite large. I would recommend a minimum of 100 guests to really fill out the space. I wish we could relive the day all over. It was magical. Thank you, Zephyr! read more

Ordered 1:31 at a kiosk: online ordering was off until they had caught up. 4 menu choices (yes, 4 total): fries, chicken tenders with fries, ramen, ramen/pho broth. Ready 2:21, all of it mediocre. So sad: fewer choices and longer waits for foods meant to be made in large quantities fast. And so 2/3 of the dining hall is full of people waiting for food, and no one can find a table. The Zephyr Lodge has the 5 star view but the food is just ok & very overpriced, typical of most lodges in the area. In addition to the nice view, it's a good place to warm up & defrost from the chilly slopes. I had a cheeseburger for about $15 & my bf had a tuna melt for about $15. Very small serving sizes and pricey. You don't get to see the size of the food up front with the new system, so it's difficult to gauge how much to order. I was just looking through my wedding album and realized I never yelped Zephyr Lodge, our wedding ceremony and reception venue. We worked with Mercie, the event planner beginning about one year in advance of the date we selected for the wedding. Our wedding was August, 2015. To date when we see our family and friends across the country, they are always reminding us that our wedding was the best they ever attended. Compliments range from comments about the high quality of food and service, to the fun had riding lifts up to the Zephyr Lodge and watching my husband and I ride up in a chairlift, to the beautiful sunset, to the ease and fun of staying in Northstar with plenty of activities, shopping, and restaurants. Working with Mercie was fantastic, we appreciated her easygoing nature paired with attention to detail and being a very vigilant email-checker. I was thoroughly impressed with Zephyr Lodge during ski season. There was ample ski and snowboard parking outside, as well as many places to sit and take in the view. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Once we entered the lodge, we were greeted by the staff who handed us tissue. At first, I was a bit confused but after I realized it was quite handy to blow my nose from the cold before going into the dining area. They have food court style dining- typical lodge food such as soups and chili's, burgers, and surprisingly they had asian bowls. I was craving a burger which was actually quite delicious. They even offer grilled bell peppers and grilled onions outside in their condiments bar. They offer whipped cream for the hot chocolate as well. It was a pleasant surprise to see their additional thoughtfulness. That's what sets this lodge out from the others! read more

For some reason the food all over the mountains here are not consistently priced as many Yelpers have noted. The prices for soup and chili here are a whole $2 - 3 more expensive than what it costs at the top of the summit. The drinks here are outrageously priced beyond $5-6 normal ranges for ski resorts and a Prime Roast sandwich was $16.99! This is literally JUST the sandwich, no sides, no fries, nothing. And I thought Heavenly was bad ... Views wise, of course there was a good reason why they put this here. Enjoy spectacular views of the resort especially on a good day ... but just try not to eat here since you will find yourself emptying every last penny you have. The lodge is nice because it's new, and therefore the bathrooms don't smell like old, wet mildew and chemicals and are fairly sized for your bulky ski / snow clothes. They do tend to get very, very busy since it's mid-mountain and near plenty of easy runs ... read more

Beautiful gorgeous views up here. However food is overpriced as well as the drinks. Service was great and we sat on the patio overlooking the beautiful snow covered mountains. It was relaxing. I ordered a virgin Thai iced tea (forgot my I.D.) and my friend ordered the version spiked with rum. It was overpriced for both and sadly lacking. Tasted watered down. Probably needs more condensed milk and brewed stronger. Our boyfriends ordered Stella's on tap and it was good just not worth the price. This place closes at 4? Super early but then again you have to take a gondola up here and the place closes as it gets dark. This place holds weddings so I can see the potential for a small beautiful rustic mountainside wedding. I'd come here again for the view but I'd probably not eat here. read more

The view is what makes this place worth it. But word of caution - don't leave your poles out there in front of the restaurant - someone took off with my son's snowshoe poles out there, which capped the whole experience off. read more

Overpriced ski resort food! This past weekend, I spent $12 on a bowl of chili and another $15 for a burger. I guess they can justify this since there are literally 2 places to eat on the mountain without going all the way down to the Big Springs Lodge at mid mountain. My friends and I stop here for lunch mostly because it's a lot less crowded than the main Big Springs lodge and has more indoor seating than the Summit grill. There's a ton of indoor seating and a little outdoor patio that overlooks the Drifter run. As for the food itself, it's actually pretty good once you get over the price. Burgers are meaty and juicy and they have a salad bar and a ton of condiments (grilled onions and mushrooms!) so you can dress up your $15 to be more like a $25 burger. Pro-tip: Hot chocolate is $5 and if you keep the paper Starbucks cup it comes in, you can get a free refill! The cup also works down at the Big Springs Lodge. Season pass holders get 10% off food after 2pm, so that $6 gatorade is now $5.40 To get here, you can either ride up the Zephyr lift, or from the summit, take the West Ridge run and keep to the left where a traversal will drop you right in front of the lodge. read more

Worst managed restaurant period. Last four times I came here I waited between 15 to 25 minutes on average when there were only 4 people ahead of me. They need to manage the lines better. I have now been waiting for my soup and half brisket for the last 25 minutes!!!! This restaurant has the nicest architectural details, friendliest staff but is badly managed. Someone is waiting behind the pizza station while there is no demand. And one person is waiting behind the burger station where there are fifteen people waiting. When you ask help from the guy behind the pizza station for your burger, he says he can't help. ALso the food doesn't taste good for the price. 2012 new lodge and it's A-OK. The service is quick and everyone is happy and smiling, there's lots of space in the lodge and rows and rows of tables to accommodate the huge crowds. my 3 star is due to the food. It is kinda MEH. I don't know how the chefs can look so professional and yet produce not so great food. all show, no go? the grilled chicken sandwich was DRY and tasteless, the onion rings were undercooked and not crunchy. the chili was good but the corn bread crumbled to bits because it was SUPER overbaked. i do like how they have complimentary sides of grilled onions, bell peppers and sauerkraut so that's a bonus! i also like how large the bathrooms are. again, the service is excellent but the food is MEH. let's pick up the quality of food preparation and id be like the 2 reviewers below and give it a 5 star. read more

This lodge is beautiful and has some of the best views out of any of the lodges. Northstar really did pick a fantastic spot to place this lodge. The food is all cafeteria style so you walk in to the food area and tell the people behind the counter what you want. There were practically no lines and I got my food really fast. I and my friend ordered the onion rings and the chili to share. I think the onion rings were $6.95 and the chili was $7.95 but I lost the receipt somewhere in all my snow gear (oops!). The onion rings came with garlic mayo and the chili had an option to add cilantro, onion, and cheese. The onion rings were delicious and the garlic mayo was the perfect compliment. The rings were beer battered (which is the only way it should be done in my opinion) and there was plenty of mayo; in fact I almost questioned why they gave me so much! The chili was good and the corm muffin was the perfect topping for the chili. Overall I thought the food was good, the details like the garlic mayo and the toppings on the chili (along with the delicious corn muffin) really made it enjoyable. Also, the quick service and the relative lack of crowds made it nice too; I was able to walk right into the bar and grab a table AND a drink with no wait whatsoever! If you get a chance to get here before the season ends I would highly recommend it! Try to get up there before Northstar's best kept secret gets crowded like the rest of the lodges!
